Kiri’s Sarah Lancashire reveals the detail you missed from THAT drunken vomit scene

Young girl Kiri was on an unsupervised visit to her grandparents when she went missing and was later found dead.

Miriam (played by Sarah Lancashire) immediately found herself at the heart of the investigation, with her superiors questioning why Kiri had been left alone.

As Kiri’s death made national news, the attention from the media became too much for the social worker and she was seen getting very drunk before taking refuge at a friend’s house and throwing up everywhere.

Speaking to press including Express.co.uk, Sarah opened up about the details that went into making the drunken vomit scene, which no doubt left many viewers speechless.

“It was rice krispies and orange juice,” she revealed, when asked what the sick was made up of.

“I think there was a little bit of rice pudding in there too. I had to be sick quite a lot. It wasn’t really that unpleasant.”

She went on to add that director Euros Lyn wanted a large volume of the concoction made up, recalling: “He wanted as much vomit as possible. Loads of it.”

Sarah, 53, also revealed that she had a “love affair” with her on-set companion Chase, who played Jesse the dog.

“He was fantastic. I was relieved to have the dog to be honest because she’s [Miriam] a kind of lonely character to play,” the former Coronation Street star explained.

“She’s not really affiliated to any other character so there wasn’t anyone to really chat to or bounce off so he was just lovely.”

Kiri continues on Channel 4 on Wednesday at 9pm.
