Emmerdale spoilers: Leah Bracknell for Zoe return after THAT twist? 'There's potential'

Last night’s Emmerdale saw Tom Waterhouse reveal his true identity as Joe (played by Ned Porteous), the son of Chris who Charity (Emma Atkins) framed for murder years ago.

However, Debbie (Charley Webb) threw a spanner in the works when she dumped him after realising she’d been duped into approving the building of a golf course, which will destroy her family home.

Though it didn’t take long to Joe to work his magic and win Debbie (Charley Webb) around, while she was blissfully unaware that her cottage was being repossessed.

As fans tried to compose themselves after the humongous bombshell, they began speculating that Zoe – who was played by actress Leah Bracknell until 2005 – and with good reason.

Soap boss Iain Macleod hinted the fan favourite will be coming back to the Dales in full force.

“Potential there is scope to introduce other characters around [Tom and Graham] further down the line,” he said.

Actress Leah is currently battling cancer and recently suggested she won’t be returning to work anytime soon.

“No one is employing me since I was diagnosed, the phone hasn’t been ringing,” she told the Sunday Mirror.

Actress Charley Webb has now revealed what will come in the aftermath of Joe’s awakening and it doesn’t sound good.

“Debbie is in so much shock – she just can’t take it in. Her initial reaction is hatred but then she goes into herself a bit and is quiet after that,” she explained.

“She eventually decides to trash the house. He has had all of her stuff taken out of the house so she goes in to just destroy it.”

Emmerdale continues tonight at 7pm on ITV.
