Alec Baldwin made his umpteenth appearance as President Donald Trump this weekend, returning to Saturday Night Live in a sketch that found the Commander-in-Chief taking questions from some of his most dedicated supporters during a random pit stop in Union, Kentucky.
After asking those in attendance if they all still loved him, POTUS bragged about his busy week, which included bombing Syria and the confirmation of judge Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court.
“Gorsuch was confirmed, the media is saying nice things and everything is going OK,” Trump began. “What a difference 50 tomahawk missiles can make.”
During the Q&A, Trump assured supporters that they would get to work in coal for the rest of their lives, and that the only jobs that would be created under his administration were in coal mines and at Goldman Sachs. He also assured the people that he did everything in his power to repeal and replace Obamacare, blaming Speaker of the House Paul Ryan for the failure of the American Health Care Act.
“I did everything I could,” he said. “I made phone calls, I jumped into a truck, I posed for pictures and went ‘Honk! Honk!’”
And despite a sinking approval rating, Trump seemed confident that he’d never lose the trust of any of the people gathered in that room to see him speak.
“You people stay by me no matter what,” he said, continuing to dodge every question that was asked of him. “It’s like you found a finger in your chili, but you still eat the chili.”
