Strictly Come Dancing 2017: Piers Morgan MOCKS Charlotte Hawkins over ‘curse’

Piers, 52, took the opportunity to mock Charlotte, 42, over having to get up close and personal with her professional dancing partner Brendan Cole.

She revealed that she would be dancing a Cha Cha in the second live show this weekend, explaining: “You have to get fully into character for this one.”

“And how close do you have to get to Brendan” quipped Piers, leaving Charlotte looking thoroughly unimpressed.

“Well, all the dances you’re dancing up close – as you know,” she hit back angry.

Co-host Susanna Reid sighed as she informed viewer wearily: “It’s Piers’ favourite part of the show. It’s Piers’ favourite topic of conversation at the moment.”

However, Piers tried to justify his jokes by telling his colleagues that he was simply “fascinated by the curse”.

“Will it strike? Can she resist? It’s just dancing…” he added cheekily as he got an eye roll in response to his remarks.

The pair also seemed to clash over whether headbutting was different to heading in football, with Piers asserting they were different while Charlotte disagreed heavily.

Piers’ remarks come as a video was released showing Charlotte knocking head with partner Brendan, 41, while they were training together.

Strictly Come Dancing airs on BBC One on Saturday at 6.45pm.
