Springwatch’s Chris Packham reveals presenters issued WARNING over smutty innuendos

However, Chris Packham has revealed that the are not always impressed with their cheeky remarks, confessing that he and co-host Michaela Strachan have found themselves in trouble.

The pair have had their wrists slapped over some of the naughty jokes they have used over recent months but insist they are simply trying to entertain those at home.

“Michaela and I utilise whatever means we can to enliven the show,” Chris explained.

“We often get told off afterwards, we have had a warning for pushing it. But we are trying to appeal to a broad audience.”

While the duo have found themselves in hot water over their double entendre, the 56-year-old insisted that it’s all just good fun.

“A lot of the Springwatch viewers are not hardcore natural history watchers,” he told The Sun.

“If we didn’t entertain them with innuendos, I don’t think the programmes would work.”

Chris’ confession comes not long after

Speaking about a potential vote to bring back hunting, he said: “Obviously I’m very pleased that that vote won’t be held. I think that fox hunting has well and truly had its day. It’s the 21st century.

“The vast majority of people, 86 per cent, recently polled as opposed to fox hunting and I think that one of the principle reasons that they’re opposed to it is that it’s inhumane and we don’t like animals being killed for nothing any longer.

“The world is waking up to the fact that there’s not enough wildlife left.”
