Saturday Kitchen viewers DISGUSTED after awkwardly misreading Amy Macdonald's jumper

The Scottish singer-songwriter made a guest appearance on the BBC cooking programme decked out in a quirky outfit that included a Bella Freud jumper with the words “Dear Baby” written across the front.

In a disastrous mix-up, which saw the 29-year-old’s long brown locks fall unfortunately over the front of her ensemble, partially covering the writing, many mistakenly thought the jumper read: “Dead Baby”.

Fans flooded to Twitter to express their outrage, with one saying: “I don’t know who this Scottish Girl on #SaturdayKitchen is but even if metal, having Dead Baby on jumper a bit much for this hour init?

Another fumed: “What is the jumper Amy Macdonald is wearing? “Dead baby” wtf #SaturdayKitchen?”

Others criticised the wardrobe department, with one social media user commenting: “@SaturdayKitchen didn’t wardrobe pick up Amy Macdonald’s sweater? Looks like it’s saying Dead Baby? Inappropriate??”

The episode caused quite a stir, as fans also fawned over hunky guest Tommy Banks.

As the 27-year-old Michelin-starred chef rustled up some dishes for guest presenter and MasterChef host John Torode, Tommy left some Saturday Kitchen viewers a little hot under the collar.

“He could cook me breakfast,” one cheeky viewer tweeted, while another added: “Watching @SaturdayKitchen Oh my @TommyBanks8 is a sight for sore eyes this early on a Saturday.”

“Chef Tommy Banks on @SaturdayKitchen is quite a dish,” a third fan lusted.

One even quipped: “There’s one dish I’m really looking forward to on @SaturdayKitchen – Tommy Banks.”

Saturday Kitchen continues next Saturday at 10am on BBC One.
