SAS Who Dares Wins: Ant Middleton drops huge bombshell about new celebrity special series

The Channel 4 series has been enormously popular ever since it launched nearly four series ago, plunging regular men into an environment similar to that of the special forces training regime.

Alongside Jason “Foxy” Fox, Ollie Ollerton and other former colleagues, the group pit the various contestants against each other in some of the toughest challenges they have ever faced.

The series continues, and the channel recently announced there will be a group of celebrities taking part in a set of new adventures.

But in a recent interview, Ant revealed the team have actually filmed two special editions of the programme.

Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, the documentary and reality star shared: “We’ve filmed two celebrity series of SAS Who Dares Wins already.

“One of them is a mixed one and the other one isn’t. Both should be out next year,” he teased.

Ant went on to share the reason behind adding more and more projects is down to his personality type.

“I like to just keep myself busy you know,” he said. “I’m one of these people, I’m comfortable when I’m uncomfortable.

“I don’t like to be too comfortable I like to get out.”

The former Special Forces soldier shot to fame with SAS: Who Dares Wins, but he insists despite enjoying working with his former colleagues and friends he is in “a very different place” in his life now.

“Yeah I like getting back together with the guys,” he enthused easily. “But I’m very much one of these people… It’s an important part of my life, an integral part of my life but I’m not in that mindset anymore, in that headspace anymore.

“So it’s good to go back and revisit it by doing the show and being with my pals again, but I see them anyway. My headspace is very much in a different space, my priorities are different, they’re much more orientated towards my family and my children.

“The thought of special forces, special forces, special forces, you know again being brutally honest, then my priority was the military they [were] my family. To be ready to roll like that.”

“Now I’m in a different headspace, my priorities are different and I’m enjoying life. I’m enjoying having my hobbies as a job, climbing Everest and reenacting Mutiny on a Bounty. I feel like I’m in a very good position in my life and I wouldn’t change it,” the star added.

In terms of what the celebrity specials will entail, both Ant and Jason have revealed some details already.

Chief instructor Ant explained: “Celebrities go through their lives showing the public a front and face they want them to see but this process stripped all that away.

“They’ve importantly turned up to raise money for SU2C but also to learn something about themselves by facing extreme experiences.”

“We took great pleasure bringing these celebrities into our world,” Jason continued. “And giving them as hard a time as we give anyone.”

SAS: Who Dares Wins celebrity special for Stand Up To Cancer will air on Channel 4 next year.
