Queen Elizabeth, 91, has travelled more than any other British monarch in history.
Her state visits don’t just include travels abroad, with Canada being the country she has visited the most, as she travels around the UK as well.
She was recently spotted leaving St Lawrence Church near Sandringham, a place she often stays with her family.
Despite being able to drive herself, something she often does due to being trained as a car mechanic during the war, she depends on one item for directions.
The Queen doesn’t rely on a sat nav to find her way around the UK, and instead uses the trusty AA road map.
According to the Mail Online, she has since decided to update her map after purchasing the 2017 edition, previously having the 2015 version last year.
It was spotted in her car as she was driven to church earlier this month with her husband Prince Philip.
Costing £11.99, she appears to have chosen this version instead of the Royal Automobile Club (RAC).
Her Royal Majesty is known for being good at driving, although she once terrified a royal dignitary on a state visit.
In 2003, she met King Abdullah, the former king of Saudi Arabia at her Balmoral estate.
Taking to the wheel, she surprised him by “climbing into the driving seat,” seeing as women were not permitted to drive in Saudi Arabia at that time.
She then “accelerated the Land Rover along the narrow Scottish estate roads,” scaring him even more.
After joining the Women’s Auxiliary Territorial Service at the age of 18, she learnt how to change tyres, rebuild engines as well as drive large vehicles, and was promoted to honorary Junior Commander in 1945, just five months later.
One thing the Queen does not need is a driving licence. despite being able to drive.
This is because the documentation is issued in her name, much like a passport.
She is the only person in the UK who does not require either form of identification.
