UPDATE TWO: It has now been confirmed that the PUBG Mobile update on Android and iOS has started to go live in multiple regions.

Players are starting to see the new 0.10.0 update appear in their App Stores, however, it hasn’t reached everyone yet.

And those that have now got access to the new PUBG Mobile build are confirming that the new Vikendi map is not yet live.

Tencent has yet to share their plans for launching the new snow map, so at this time we do not have an official Vikendi release date.

Recently leaked patch notes suggest that Vikendi will become available to download on December 20, with it going live on December 21.

UPDATE ONE: Tencent has now completed maintenance on servers and is moving onto the next phase of their PUBG Mobile update release date plans.

As confirmed by the development team earlier this week, a new PUBG Mobile patch will be launched on Tuesday, December 18.

This will include the latest build of the game, as well as the Vikendi Snow Map, which has been in beta testing for the past few weeks.

Tencent has not provided a set time for when this process will begin, and no further news has been shared by the dev team.

We would guess the new PUBG Mobile update 0.10.0 will be launched in the early hours of tomorrow morning, although this remains speculation for now.

Early patch notes for the new PUBG Mobile patch includes news on Vikendi being a 6km x 6km snow map which boasts new snowmobile vehicles.

Other notable changes include snowball fights on the Vikendi Spawn Island, as well as additional weather effects and cross-server matchmaking.

PUBG Mobile maintenance has now begun, meaning that servers are down and will stay that way for several hours.

Tencent is beginning the process of updating the game on Android and iOS, which will add a lot of exciting new content to the game.

But before the next PUBG Mobile update can be launched, the server status will read down for an extended period of time.

According to the latest news shared by developers Tencent, tonight’s scheduled maintenance could last nine hours.

For players in the UK, it will mean PUBG Mobile going back online at around 9am, perfect timing for some.

However, for those in the United States, it means a massive chunk of their evening will not include playing Battle Royale on their phones or PC.

There is always the chance that Tencent will get everything in place for the new update early, meaning that servers could go online before 9am, GMT.

It’s always hard to predict how long maintenance may last, so it will be worth keeping an eye on the official PUBG Mobile Twitter feeds.

After maintenance does wrap, fans can look forward to a new map being released on all platforms.

This won’t happen straight away and will likely be another 24hrs before it’s available to play for everyone worldwide.

Tencent has confirmed that they plan to release their next PUBG Mobile update on Tuesday, December 18.

This will include the Vikendi snow map, which has been under beta testing for the past few weeks.

Fans will be required to download the latest version of PUBG Mobile from the App Store on their device before they can start checking all the new changes.

Here’s the latest from Tencent, who confirmed: “PUBG MOBILE will be taken offline for maintenance from 00:00 – 09:00 (UTC) on December 17th.

“Service may resume sooner or later depending on maintenance progress. The new version will be pushed to Google Play and App Store starting December 18.

“Update the game before December 25th to get Outfit Box III and 1,888 BP.”

Leaked information from earlier this month reported that the next big update for PUBG Mobile would drop in December.

This included leaked patch notes, as well as the news that the new Vikendi snow map would be included.

It lists the new level as a 6km x 6km snow map which will be available to download in the near future.

A recent maintenance notice posted to the PUBG Mobile menu screen does not list all of these changes but does confirm Vikendi being released.

It also confirms a snow theme for the main menu screen and cross-server matchmaking.

Fans can also look forward to the Firearms Finish Upgrade System being added to the game via the new patch.

Full patch notes are expected to be shared later this week and will include all the major changes being made by Tencent.

A new Winter event seems pretty likely, including new holiday-themed outfits and gear to collect.

2018 continues to be a huge year for PUBG Mobile, with several awards wins now confirmed.

PUBG Mobile was recently recognized by the App Store in Apple’s “Game Trend of the Year” category representing the battle royale genre as well as in the “Top Games Charts of 2018” as one of the most downloaded games.

It was also recently confirmed that PUBG Mobile has surpassed 20 million concurrent users and 100 million downloads worldwide, excluding China, Korea, and Japan.

This is on top of awards wins at gaming events such as the Golden Joystick Awards for Best Mobile Game of the Year.

“The team is honoured and thrilled that PUBG MOBILE has been recognised by 2018 Golden Joystick Awards,” said Vincent Wang, general manager, PUBG MOBILE global publishing team.

“The response to the game from fans has energised everyone at the team as we are heads down working on new, exciting updates and contents for PUBG MOBILE.”
