MasterChef fans slam contestants over THESE 'unacceptable' choices: 'I don't believe them'

Viewers took to Twitter in both shock and anger, claiming some of the contestants were lying about their number one food.

Some users branded many of the last nine’s choices “unacceptable” during the semi-final instalment, after they listed the likes of fennel, seaweed and cauliflower.

The micro-blogging site was inundated with comments about their offerings, before Lyndsay, 36, was sadly sent home.

While judges Gregg Wallace and John Torode were very enthusiastic about their favourites, one user blasted: “NO. Cauliflower is in no way an acceptable favourite ingredient #Masterchef.”

Two others continued: “I don’t believe half of these ‘favourite’ ingredients… #MasterChef,” and: “‘My favourite ingredient is seaweed,’ said nobody. Ever. Until tonight’s #masterchef.”

A third went on: “Fennel? Seaweed? Cauliflower? Beetroot? Rhubarb? Ginger? The lady cooking pork has to win just for my sanity’s sake #MasterChef.”

Someone else stated: “Are they no normal f***ing people on #Masterchef? Whose favourite ingredient is seaweed? (I exclude the pork lady).”(sic)

Meanwhile, many were shocked by Lyndsay’s exit, with Lorna, Steve, Giovanna, Alison, Jamie, Faye, Saliha and Brodie all sailing through to the next round.

Upset fans tweeted: “#MasterChef Nooooo not Lyndsey – Greg and John why why why?” as well as: “Lyndsey is out? I did not see that coming #MasterChef.”

MasterChef continues on Wednesday at 8pm on BBC One.
