A new Mass Effect Andromeda DLC multiplayer mission has been released by BioWare this week.
APEX Missions are pretty the last new content coming to the game, with the likelihood of any new single-players being launched, slim to none.
There’s around 34hrs left on the new briefing, with BioWare confirming the end time to be set for around 5pm, August 7.
The latest Mass Effect Andromeda missions named: “Along for the Ride,” tasking players to raid a Kett vessel.
The briefing description explains: “The outlaws damaged the Batarian-piloted vessel. We’ll have to collect salvage from another Kett ship to repair it.”
- Match Difficulty: Bronze
- Match Modifiers: Glass Jaw, Combat Skirmish
- Glass Jaw: Enemy melee attacks deal increased damage.
- Combat Skirmish: Biotic Power damage is enhanced while other powers deal less damage.
Like in other APEX missions, there’s a few new pieces of content being released, including enemies, maps and guns.
Playable Character: Batarian Vanguard
“The Batarian Vanguard uses biotics to close in on and pummel his opponents with devastating melee attacks.”
Weapon: Shorty Shotgun
“Outlaws cobbled together the compact Shorty because they wanted a close-range weapon with extra ammo. The shotgun fires three-round bursts, but is heavy to carry because of a large ammunition clip; the recoil kicks like an angry mule. Additional ranks increase the statistics of this item.”
Map: Firebase Magma
“A lava field isn’t the likeliest place for an industrial outpost, but outlaws built a facility here to harness its massive amounts of geothermal energy. This power then fuels advanced factories that create experimental weapons and incendiary munitions.”
Mass Effect Andromeda DLC is looking increasingly unlikely, as EA went quiet on the franchise during its latest earnings call. EA barely mentioned Mass Effect Andromeda during its first quarter earnings call, which suggests that new DLC is unlikely.
Mass Effect Andromeda was mentioned just three times during the earnings call.
That’s compared to 20 mentions for Battlefield 1, 36 for Battlefield 1 and a whopping 41 for FIFA.
EA did say that Mass Effect Andromeda was a “significant contributor” to digital growth, which helped boost year-on-year growth and downloads.
Unfortunately, there was no mention of Mass Effect Andromeda DLC or expansion packs.
An announcement stating that no new DLC is being planned for the game is the most likely outcome, following news that there is no team dedicated to its development.
It’s now believed that there will be no Mass Effect Andromeda DLC released on PS4, Xbox One, or PC.
As reported earlier this year, the only team now working on the game are focused solely on multiplayer and patch projects.
This includes Mass Effect Andromeda APEX missions, which recently introduced a new race known as the Batarians, as well as a new map and a special weapon.
