That is the view of former Bolton and Everton midfielder Peter Reid.
Pogba returned to the Manchester United side for their 4-1 win over Newcastle yesterday after two months out with a hamstring injury.
The Frenchman played an influential role in the victory, assisting Anthony Martial for his equaliser before netting one himself after half time.
Manager Mourinho has taken heavy criticism this season for some of his side’s defensive performances, especially in the 0-0 draw against Liverpool last month.
However, Reid says when Paul Pogba plays that is not the case because he is so important for the team.
“When he’s out you do miss him, you do miss him,” Reid said on Sky Sports.
“I think he’s a bit of everything, he’s got strength, he’s got pace.
“His feet, getting half a yard for the cross and then the quality of the cross when Martial scored was outstanding.
“You need players like that in the team and Manchester United are a good side with a top-class coach.
“Sometimes, and I live up in the Manchester area, Manchester United fans get a bit frustrated because they are telling me that they play too slow for them.
“But certainly when all the big guns are out and they play like that, they’re a really, really good side.
“For me, even though it’s early, it’s between the two Manchester clubs for the title.”
