Kate Middleton, 35, has found herself trailing Melania Trump, 47, in a poll which ranks the most admired men and women of 2017.
Over 1000 American adults were asked by poll company Gallup to name their most admired woman and man this year.
The Duchess of Cambridge made tenth place, but was beaten by First Lady Melania, who enjoyed her first entry into the list at eighth place.
Kate was not the only member of the Royal Family to make the list, with the Queen taking sixth place, well ahead of her granddaughter-in-law.
In fact, the Queen holds the record for women in the poll, having appeared 49 times since it started in 1946.
Despite this, she has never taken first place, coming second in 1952, 1957, 1958 and 1962.
Kate can take comfort in the fact she is the only young royal to make the list of either men or women.
However, the list this year is dominated by American political figures, with Hillary Clinton named number one.
Clinton has in fact been named most admired more than any woman – or man – in Gallup’s polling history.
This is not the first time Kate has been beaten in a poll by a First Lady.
Michelle Obama was named the top female role model in research carried out by Disney in 2016, with the Duchess taking second place.
But the same poll saw Kate storm ahead of the Queen, who came in ninth place.
Other notable women named included J.K Rowling, Holly Willoughby and Malala Yousafzai.
In a poll by Express.co.uk, Kate was named the woman they would most like to marry when asked to choose between her and Meghan Markle.
66 per cent chose Prince William’s wife as their dream partner, while 44 per cent went for Prince Harry’s bride-to-be.
Kate has been married to Prince William since 2011, and the pair were wed in a service watched by the eyes of the world.
