Google Maps Street View: Creepy sight uncovers THIS terrifying tradition in Japan

Google Maps Street View can show the rest of the world some of the weirdest and most wonderful sites.

Many think they have spotted signs of aliens or UFOs when browsing Google Maps.

One village in Japan has a creepy tradition that has been caught by the famous street view cars.

The reason behind it has recently been revealed.

Nagoro Village in Japan has been dubbed Nagoro Doll Village, due to the sheer number of dolls in the area.

The tradition in the village is to create a doll for every person who dies and to place them somewhere in the area.

People are now outnumbered by the creepy models, as they can be spotted by the roadside or on the porch of a house in a creepy tableau.

Google Maps users can explore the area as the dolls sit at bus stops and shops throughout the village.

With over 350 dolls, many inhabitants of the village have left with it last reported that just 30 people were living there as of August 2016.

They were created by Tsukimi Ayano who returned to Nagoro and felt lonely, in a bid to populate it with “former residents” after creating one in the image of her father.

It isn’t the only creepy site to have been caught on Google Maps.

A field in Finland has terrified users after stumbling across a bizarre tradition.

A huge amount of scarecrows can be seen in regimented lines in a snowy field.

Many are dressed in outfits depicting male and female scarecrows.

It is unknown what the reasoning behind it is, although it is thought that it could be a local tradition.

The image has since gone viral with many creeped out by the eery image.
