Last week Rita Ora – who stars in the films – released For You, the main single from the movie’s soundtrack.
The song is a duet with Liam Payne – however it seems somebody else turned down the chance to duet with her first.
That someone, according to the Daily Star, is none other than Justin Bieber.
“Originally Universal Pictures wanted Justin Bieber to sing a song on the soundtrack, either with or without Rita,” a source said.
“He’s the biggest male pop star in the world and so that’s what they aimed for.
“They had the world’s biggest female pop star in Taylor Swift do the last film, so they were keen for something a bit different because Zayn Malik sang that with her and he comes from One Direction as well.”
Ora and Payne’s release has fared well thus far: it made its debut on the UK singles chart at No11 yesterday, after topping the live iTunes rankings.
Jamie Dornan himself also features on the soundtrack, singing a Paul McCartney cover.
Yesterday another song from the album was released: Capital Letters, by Hailee Steinfeld and BloodPop.
Fifty Shades Freed, which also stars Dakota Johnson alongside Dornan, marks the third and final film in the trilogy.
Fifty Shades Freed is out on February 9.
