According to a study published in the British Journal of Nutrition, eating almonds at lunchtime improved memory in the afternoon.
It is thought one of the reasons is because almonds have a positive effect on keeping blood sugar levels in balance.

Additionally, the nut is packed with magnesiums, which has been shown to combat tiredness and fatigue.

In the study by Purdue University, 86 adults were split into two groups.
They were fed either an almond-enriched diet, or an almond-free diet for 12 weeks.
The researchers discovered that 30 minutes after lunch, the group who ate no almonds had a greater decline in memory.
As well as warding off memory loss, almonds have a number of other health benefits.
Eating a handful a day could lower cholesterol, reducing stroke risk, according to findings published in the Journal of Nutritional Science.
