WWE Smackdown RESULTS: NXT stars debut, AJ Styles wins dream match, Becky Lynch triumphs

US Champion Shinsuke Nakamura def. Jeff Hardy

Shisuke Nakamura’s US Championship reign continued after picking up an impressive win over former title-holder Jeff Hardy.

The two wrestling superstars taunted one another during the match but Hardy seemed to have gotten the better of the mind games as he gained control of the match.

The Charismatic Enigma set Nakamura up for the Swanton Bomb but the US Champion knocked him down from the top rope and finished him off with a Kinshasa.

Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura

Trent Seven def. Zack Gibson

WWE surprised the live crowd at Wembley when they put together a match between two of NXT UK’s top stars.

Zack Gibson, who is considered as the brand’s biggest heel cut a scathing promo before the match as he insulted London.

Gibson threatened to make his opponent tap out but Trent Seven picked up the win with a Burning Hammer.

Winner: Trent Seven

Naomi def. Mandy Rose via disqualification

Naomi dominated the majority of the match and Mandy Rose’s associate Sonya DeVille sensed the danger and got involved.

DeVille grabbed Naomi’s leg to cause the disqualification and joined Rose as they laid out a two-on-one beatdown on the former Smackdown Women’s Champion.

However, Asuka came out for the save and the bout turned into a Tag Team Match.

Winner: Naomi (DQ)

Naomi and Asuka def. Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville

The former Absolution members tried to double team Asuka but Naomi offloaded Rose.

Asuka then regained control of the match and made DeVille tap out to the Asuka Lock.

Winners: Naomi and Asuka

Andrade Cien Almas def. Shelton Benjamin

Andrade Cien Almas came out to taunt the crowd by claiming that Manchester is a better city than London.

Shelton Benjamin though interrupted him and urged the crowd to start calling him names.

However, it was Almas who got the last laugh after the bell rang as he beat the former Intercontinental and US Champion with a DDT.

Smackdown Tag Team Champions Cesaro and Sheamus def. The New Day and The Usos

Referee lost control of the match as The Usos and The New Day started performing high-risk moves at ringside.

However, Cesaro caught one of The Usos into a Small Package and picked up the pin after holding on to his opponent’s tights for leverage.

Winners: Sheamus and Cesaro

Rusev and Lana def. R-Truth and Carmella

The two teams didn’t seem to interested in wrestling at first as they started a leg split contest.

However, Rusev wasn’t able to perform one of his own and R-Truth tried to pin him.

The Bulgarian Brute though kicked out and then returned the favour as he pinned the former US Champion with a Small Package.

After the match both teams shook hands and took out Aiden English who tried to attack Rusev as well as R-Truth.

Winners: Rusev and Lana

Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows def. Alexander Wolfe and Killian Dain

Eric Young kept interfering in the match and saved his Sanity team-mate Alexander Wolfe from getting pinned.

The referee saw that and ejected him from ringside, but Young ran back to the ring and was kicked in the face by Gallows.

The Good Brothers then picked up the win with the Magic Killer on Wolfe.

Winners: Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows

Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch continued their rivalry in London (Image: WWE)

Smackdown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch def. Charlotte Flair

Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair continued their intense rivalry in London after their incredible Last Woman Standing Match at Evolution.

Charlotte dominated the later stages of the match and tried to hit The Irish Lass Kicker with a Moonsault.

However, the high-risk move cost her as she landed on the Smackdown Women’s Champion’s knees and got pinned with a Small Package.

That was an important win for Lynch as she prepares for her big Champion vs Champion Match with Ronda Rousey ahead of Survivor Series. 

Winner: Becky Lynch 

Daniel Bryan competed for the WWE Championship in the UK (Image: WWE)

WWE Champion AJ Styles def. Samoa Joe and Daniel Bryan

AJ Styles, Samoa Joe and Daniel Bryan competed in a dream match at Wembley and left it all in the ring.

Bryan tried to take out Styles with the Running Knee but the WWE Champion moved out of the way and took out The Yes Man with Styles Clash.

He then escaped Joe’s Coquina Clutch and picked up the win with the Phenomenal Forearm.

Winner: AJ Styles
