Wimbledon 2017 LIVE: Heather Watson gets off to flyer; Andy Murray, Konta in action later

It’s set to be a scorcher at Wimbledon for day three – both on and off the court. On Centre we have the mouthwatering prospect of Johanna Konta, Andy Murray and Rafa Nadal all in action.

Konta takes on Donna Vekic, Murray meets the flamboyant, brilliant, dreadlocked Jamaican-German Dustin Brown and Nadal faces fellow leftie Donald Young. It should – after yesterday’s injury shockers where Martin Klizan and Alexandr Dolgopolov withdrew – be a cracker.

Heather Watson gets the Brits under way on day three against Anastasija Sevastova of Latvia. She’s first on Court Two at 11.30am.

And then there’s Aljaz Bedene, who came through a four-and-a-half hour epic in the first round against Ivo Karlovic on Monday. He takes on Damir Dzumhur after Elena Vesnina v Victoria Azarenka on Court Three.

We also have Venus Williams in second round action. She faces Qiang Wang second on Court One.

LIVE UPDATES AS THEY HAPPEN FROM SW19

12.02pm: Has Heather Watson played any better than this? She ran Serena close in 2015 but this has been an absolute mauling.

Just 18 minutes and the set is over. She’s taken it 6-0 against an opponent 83 places above her in the world rankings.

Remarkable stuff. Can she keep this up?

11.55am: Forget Murray Mount, it should be Heather Hill!

Our girl has got off to an absolute flyer, securing the double break with a canny drop shot, after being drop shot herself.

She has just served herself into a 5-0 lead, yes… FIVE-NIL… in just 15 minutes of play. Wow.

11.45am: We’re underway on Court Two with our Hev to serve. She gets off to the perfect start, too, with an arrowing cross-court backhand winner to go 30-15 up before she takes the game, Good job, can she become the first Brit into round three?

Elena Vesnina and Victoria Azarenka are also in action now and they meet one another on Court Three. We’ll keep you in touch with that one, too.

As there has been all week, there’s a big police presence around the grounds today. Security notably higher than it’s ever been.

Good job too, given Centre Court ticket holders were robbed of seeing Djokovic and Federer playing two full games yesterday!

11.20am: Our first Brit in action today is Heather Watson, who plays the brilliantly-named Anastasija Sevastova.

So who is Anastasija Sevastova, I hear you ask. Well we have all the answers here.

The doubles competitions also start today. There are plenty of Brits in action – including Marcus Willis, remember him? – so we’ll try and keep you in touch with all from there.

11am: We’re 30 minutes away from play starting and it’s already scorching! Players due on court at 11.30am on the outside courts and 1pm on the show courts.
