Wildest Tuner Cars of the 2017 Geneva Auto Show

The Geneva auto show occupies a rarefied place. No other show sees money, status, and glitz intersect with power, bespoke creations, and tuner cars as they do in the Swiss city. Oh, sure, there are plenty of name-brand factory exotics and sports cars on display, too, but it really takes some chutzpah to stand out in a sea of extroverts. That’s where the tuners come in. Sporting names that would make Ian Fleming proud, the products of these firms always hit Geneva in force. Here are the 10 we selected as the standout creations—for good and bad—from this year’s show.Gemballa Avalanche (Porsche 911 Turbo)Of course, the rear end is even more absurd, with a giant wing, ’80s-style louvers on the rear window, an enormous scoop, and four exhaust outlets that look like afterburners from a Star Wars spaceship. It’s all finished in an eye-popping purple color over a black-and-white leather interior.ABT RS6+ (Audi RS6)ABT RS6+ (Audi RS6)Kahn Vengeance (Aston Martin DB9)Kahn Vengeance (Aston Martin DB9)The Mercedes-McLaren SLR was never the prettiest car to begin with, so the question is whether Fab Design’s ministrations create true Desire. The entire body is cloaked in carbon fiber set off with a bright blue stripe and a matching blue custom interior that might have been pulled from a speedboat. A custom front fascia features an extended splitter and replaces the three-pointed star with Fab Design’s own logo, while the rear is similarly reworked with a large diffuser.Fab Design Desire (Mercedes-McLaren SLR)Tech Art 911 GT Street R (Porsche 911 Turbo S convertible)Tech Art 911 GT Street R (Porsche 911 Turbo S convertible)Mansory Rolls-Royce Dawn (Rolls-Royce Dawn)Mansory Rolls-Royce Dawn (Rolls-Royce Dawn)Mansory Bentayga Black Edition (Bentley Bentayga)Mansory Bentayga Black Edition (Bentley Bentayga)Mansory Porsche Panamera (Porsche Panamera)Mansory Porsche Panamera (Porsche Panamera)Mansory Maserati LevanteMansory Maserati LevanteTopCar Design GLE Coupe Inferno (Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe)TopCar Design GLE Coupe Inferno (Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe)
