Will the stadium deal kill our suburban grounds?

Phil RothfieldThe Daily Telegraph

NSW’s $ 2.3 billion stadium deal is great for big-ticket events but it will actually force NRL crowd figures to decline at a time the game desperately needs to see them lift.

Clubs will have to host games at the flashy ANZ, Allianz and Parramatta stadiums, leaving the suburban grounds in the lurch.

Campbelltown, Kogarah, Brookvale, Leichhardt and more will be left out in the cold.

Fans who like their Sunday afternoon footy at suburban grounds will have no reason to venture outside for their NRL hit.

It’s an invitation to stay at home and watch Fox Sports.
