The Duchess met her husband at University, and they married almost 10 years later.

Now the couple have three children, Prince Geroge, five, Princess Charlotte, three, and Prince Louis who was born in April.

However, it sees the pair will be parted next week.

Prince William is heading to Africa next week, visiting Namibia, Tanzania and Kenya.

William is visiting troops for the Irish Guards but also promoting a conference against the illegal wildlife trade.

Kensington Palace tweeted: “The Duke of Cambridge will visit Namibia, Tanzania and Kenya from Monday 24th to Sunday 30th September.

The private working trip is being made as @United4Wildlife President and @Tusk_org Patron ahead of the 2018 Illegal Wildlife Trade Conference in London #EndWildlifeCrime.”

Will Kate Middleton and her children travel with the Prince?

One royal expert seems to think not, and it is for one sensible reason.

OK! royal expert Christina Reeves said: “Typically William has always worked solo in his fight against illegal wildlife trade, which is why we wouldn’t see Kate join him on a trip like this or him joining Kate on her own personal projects, such as promoting the importance of perinatal, maternal and children’s mental health.”

Prince William helped to created the charity United for Wildlife.

They website for the organisation states: “Led by The Duke of Cambridge, our campaign unites the world’s leading wildlife charities under a common purpose: to create a global movement for change.

“Whilst animals continue to be killed by criminals, whilst whole species are poached to extinction, we will join together to ask one simple question: Whose side are you on?”

Prince William and the rest of the Royal Family have strong ties with Africa.

Kate Middleton’s charity work is also prolific.

The mother-of-three became a patron of four charities in he first nine months of her royal life.

In February this year Kate created a video to promote Children’s Mental Health Week.

Meghan Markle made this jokey comment about her wedding dress in new royal documentary.

Meghan is seen gingerly touching the costly garment, with the dress and veil combined coming in at around £387,000.

How did Kate Middleton become a royal?

Early life

Kate Middleton, or Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, was born on 9 January 1982 at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading, England.

She was born to Michael and Carole Middleton, a former flight dispatcher and air hostess. The couple founded a party supplies company, Party Pieces, in 1987 – now estimated to be worth £30 million.

Kate has a younger sister Pippa Matthews, 34, and a younger brother James Middleton, 31.

Education

Kate and her family moved to Amman, Jordan, in 1984, where the future Duchess was educated at an English-speaking nursery school.

After moving back to Berkshire the family sent Kate to private school, St Andrews School. She went on to briefly study at Downe House before moving onto Marlborough College where she boarded.

For university the young Kate attended the University of St Andrews in Fife, Scotland. Here she was awarded an undergraduate MA (2:1 Hons) in history of art.

Relationship with Prince William

Kate met Prince William when they were both studying at St Andrews, and both living in St Salvator’s Hall. Famously, William reportedly took a fancy to Kate after she wore a see-through dress during a fashion show.

In 2003 the couple began dating and lived together during their second year of university.

The couple split in April 2007, however, in October they were back together.

Wedding

Prince William proposed to Kate Middleton with his late mother Princess Diana’s engagement ring in October 2010. The couple were holidaying in Kenya at the time.

On 29 April 2011 they married at Westminster Abbey with a whopping 26 million watching the event live.

Kate wore an Alexander McQueen dress worth a reported £250,000 on the big day.

Kate assumed the title “Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge” and also become the Duchess of Cambridge on the day.
