A funny video has emerged of tourists experiencing a terrifying encounter during a day out at a theme park in Japan.
However, the reason behind their intense panic is truly ridiculous, making the clip highly entertaining.
A “dinosaur” appears to leap out at groups of visitors, scaring them witless – but of course, if they stopped to think, they’d realise that dinosaurs no longer exist.
However, the fact that the beast is, in fact, a person dressed in a dinosaur suit doesn’t seem to register with the frightened tourists, making for very funny viewing.
The video shows the dinosaur emerging from the bushes and leaping out at two men in the first of many comical pranks.
It runs at them with such force that the pair fall to the floor as the ‘animal’ cavorts around them roaring, leaving them wriggling on the ground in a desperate attempt to get away.
Next, the dinosaur jumps out from the undergrowth at two girls – one of whom’s loyalty is instantly tested.
One girl makes a mad dash in the other direction to escape the ‘creature’ and abandons her friend.
The girl falls instantly to the floor in a seated position with her arms over her head and frantically kicks her legs – not a technique that would be much use in real danger. The dinosaur shows no mercy and jumps around roaring throughout.
Another scene shows the ‘beast’ posing still next to a tree as though inanimate.
When a couple tries to take a photo next to the presumed statue, the dinosaur comes alive and starts falling wildly and roaring.
The boyfriend instantly shows his true colours and run away in terror. The girl at first seems mystified by her boyfriend’s reaction.
But then she turns to the ‘creature’ – for a moment she doesn’t react to the roaring ‘animal,’ but then she too is struck by fear and runs away.
In the final scene, the dinosaur appears to crank the action up a notch as he ‘attacks’ two men.
One runs away but the other is pulled to the ground by the reptile and desperately tries to scramble away as the dinosaur tussles with him.
Unfortunately, the clip doesn’t show what came after these scenes of terror and whether the tourists realised their silliness.
Hilariously, the shoes of the person in the dinosaur suit can easily be seen but the clip clearly shows how illogical people can be when put in a state of panic.
Viewers found the video very funny and mocked the scared visitors.
“Whose snap decision is ‘f***, dinosaurs are definitely a real modern threat, let’s panic and run’?” wrote one commenter.
Others praised the enthusiasm of the theme park worker and dedication to his reptilian role. “I like how aggressive this guy is!” one person wrote.
