People on the cruise ship are seen swaying as the ship is thrown about by the waves.

The Youtube video the ship rising and falling dramatically as the waves batter the ship.

It’s stomach churning journey sees the boat go almost vertical at the strongest part of the waves.

Called the Drake Passage, it is located between Antarctica and Cape Horn and often has some of the strongest winds and currents.

According to Conde Nast Traveler, this is because: “The Passage divides the cool, sub-polar conditions of the southernmost bits of South America from the frigid, polar regions of Antarctica.”

It’s effect then causes volatile weather conditions for any ships going through it.

A different cruise ship didn’t manage to remain unscathed when travelling through awful weather

For one brief moment, it appears to be falling over completely.

Thankfully it rights itself and goes back to its correct position in the sea.

Commenters were terrified of the video, with one stating: “It’s broadside to the waves, which is really bad. Must have lost power or steering. Facing into these waves wouldn’t be nearly as bad.”

With over 100,000 views, the video has since gone viral.
