WandaVision theories: Voice on the radio contains major Ant-Man connection

Wanda Maximoff (played by Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany) are still stuck in an eerie alternate reality, but someone seems to be investigating from the outside. Eagle-eyed Marvel aficionados may have deciphered who’s trying to contact the supernatural superhero in the second episode of WandaVision on Disney Plus

Some observant comic book enthusiasts seem to have exposed Randall Park’s first appearance as Agent Jimmy Woo in the second episode of WandaVision.

While the Fresh off the Boat star is confirmed to be joining the series in a more physical role, Agent Woo appears to be trying to contact Wanda via an ominous radio signal.

Episode two of the series leaps forward in time to the 1960s, and kicks off when Wanda and Agnes (Kathryn Hahn) attend a meeting for the women of the neighbourhood, led by the uptight Dottie (Emma Caulfield Ford).

Wanda’s illusions grind to a halt when a mysterious voice asks ‘Who’s doing this to you, Wanda?’ from a nearby wireless.

Marvel fans are convinced that’s the voice of Jimmy Woo, now working for the intelligence organisation known as S.W.O.R.D.

One perceptive viewer summed up the theory on a recent Reddit thread, following the premiere of WandaVision’s first two episodes last Friday.

They said: “That voice over the airwaves was definitely Jimmy Woo from Ant Man and the Wasp (Randall Park).”

Woo made his first appearance in the Ant-Man sequel, where he was established as a former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent whom the FBI recruited to be Scott Lang’s (Paul Rudd) parole officer.

As the mystery unravels over the next four episodes, Agent Woo is likely to make further appearances as more of S.W.O.R.D.’s investigation into Wanda’s hallucinations is revealed.

Moreover, the sprawling Marvel Cinematic Universe is notorious for wrapping up its films with post-credit stingers to tease the Avengers’ upcoming battles.

Having already built a rapport with Scott Lang/Ant-Man, his role in WandaVision could neatly set up the tiny hero’s next adventures with his partner Hope Van Dyne/The Wasp (Evangeline Lilly).

Randall Park is speculated to make another appearance in the upcoming sequel Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which will also set up the next Avengers-level threat, Jonathan Majors’ Kang the Conqueror.

As the first entry into the MCU since 2019, WandaVision could revitalise the blockbuster franchise even more with a surprise cameo from the two Ant-Man stars.

Meanwhile, while Woo is speculated to have been reinvented as an agent of S.W.O.R.D., which is connected to S.H.I.E.L.D., the same fan offered an alternative theory.

They continued: “Guessing that the FBI got involved in some missing persons’ cases and that intersected with Wanda’s infatuation with this reality where she can have Vision back.

“Dottie and all these people may have just been a genuine suburb that got taken hostage inadvertently.”

It’s still unclear if Wanda is in charge of her idyllic new reality, but S.W.O.R.D. definitely seems to be trying to breach her powerful illusions.

Fans got their first glimpse of the new organisation when Wanda noticed its logo brandished across an uncanny, red toy helicopter she found in the second black-and-white episode.

Another episode is set to air this Friday, so MCU fans will undoubtedly be keeping their eyes open for more references to the world beyond Wanda’s strange new reality.
