Versailles Season 2: King Louis' mistress exposes BREASTS and bump in eye-popping scenes

French King Louis XIV (played by George Blagden) is seen writhing around in bed with his mistress Madame de Montespan (Anna Brewster), suggesting his feelings for her are unchanged.

Despite picking up two years after the first season ended, the monarch looks loved-up with the brunette beauty, who leaves little to the imagination in the show’s opener.

Flaunting her assets as she bathed in a luxurious bath tub, she is also seen cuddling up to the Sun King while her hair falls down her slender back.

However, there is one major difference from the initial instalment – which caused a stir with its numerous sex scenes – as Madame de Montespa is also pictured with a large baby bump.

Meanwhile, both George and his on-screen brother Alexander Vlahos, who portrays Philippe I, Duke of Orléans, have hinted at what viewers can expect from the second run.

They revealed that the upcoming episodes are “all about” the woman in question, who was fast becoming Louis’ favourite following the death of Henrietta of England (Noémie Schmidt).

Actor George, 27, told the Radio Times: “We now see how she has established herself as the most powerful woman in France or in the world at that time.

“We start to see how that influence that she’s gained and that favour that she’s gained with the King really starts to affect him and his mind, and all of the day to day decisions that he has to make are filtered through the Montespan filter.”

The TV star added: “We even see him taking her advice on some rather monumental decisions and ignoring his most trusted valet, Bontemps [Stuart Bowman].”

Versailles season two begins on BBC Two at 9.30pm on April 21.
