Vera Lynn 100: Wartime singer outselling Drake and Zara Larsson with new album

At the half-way point of the tally, with four more days of sales still to be counted before the final rundown is revealed on Friday, the album Vera Lynn 100 is at No. 3.

That puts it one spot ahead of Drake’s latest opus More Life, and the long-awaited debut from Zara Larsson – currently at No6.

Ahead are Depeche Mode with Spirit at No2, and Ed Sheeran’s immovable Divide, which is cruising towards a third week at No1.

Sheeran is also continuing to reign over the singles chart, it seems.

Currently Shape Of You is heading for an 11th week at No1, Galway Girl narrowly behind at No2 and Castle On The Hill at No3.

Clean Bandit are heading for a No5 arrival with Symphony, which features Zara Larsson, and Martin Jensen’s Solo Dance heads up to No6.

Anne-Marie’s Ciao Adios climbs to No7, while US songwriter Julia Michaels soars up to No21 with her first major single as an artist in her own right, Issues.

Lynn turns 100-years-old today, and is set to break her own record as the oldest ever artist to score a hit album.
