Spanish outlet Diario Gol say Real want to start their January spending with a £26.6m move for Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Perez also wants to bolster the defence with Italy defender Leonardo Bonucci on the radar.

And Perez’s final transfer roll of the dice is for a new Galactico in Mauro Icardi who will cost at least £89m.

The Sunday World say Liverpool are close to agreeing a structured deal worth £70m for Van Dijk and have been given the green light to talk to his representatives.

The 26-year-old was left out of the Southampton squad for their 1-1 draw with Huddersfield today, the second game in succession the defender has missed.

And Twitter ITK Indy Kalia this evening posted: “Hate doing this when not 100% confirmed. Just had text message. Virgil van Dijk to join @LFC. #LFC”

Guardiola to spend £160m
