Top Gear: Matt LeBlanc admits race FIX ‘It's the first time he’s publicly admitted that!’

Fans of    will remember series 24’s scary freewheeling challenge which saw hosts Matt LeBlanc and Chris Harris allow their cars to drift down a mountain without using any brakes.

At the time, Matt gasped that he could have easily driven off the side of the cliff.

Chris was disappointed that Matt had beaten his time by 43 seconds.

Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk about the dangerous filming, Matt explained: “I don’t know that it’s about being more dangerous each series.

“I mean you set the bar and maintain that or exceed it every time you go out like with anything else.

“I think we push ourselves to make the best films that we can make to make it as exciting as it can be and as funny as it can be.

“You know, you’ve got three competitive guys out there. You tend to eek closer and closer and further and further over the line.”

Chris interjected: “Sorry. Can we just come back to the downhill challenge? 43 seconds was your margin of victory was it?”

Matt then admitted that the race could possibly have not been as accurate as it looked on TV.

He chuckled: “Yeah. Okay. If I’m honest, I think there might have been a stopwatch error.

“I don’t think it was any more than… 40. I don’t think it was any more than 40 seconds.”

Shocked, Chris gasped: “Yes, that’s the first time he’s ever publicly admitted that!”
