The Overtones singer Timmy passed away in April this year and the band opened up on coping with their loss.
They told host Christine that they hope their “beloved Irish angel friend will be proud” of the work they have done following his death.
Lachie Chapman said: “Our beloved Irish angel friend will be proud.
“Anyone who ever met that Irish boy smiles or grins or giggles. He was a oncer – we will love that boy for the rest of our lives.
“We’ve been together so long, we’ve had so many experiences together. And now this is one of the experiences we share. It’s great honour and a privilege to be sat here talking about our tour.
“We had a chat – do you shut down the website? Do you shut down the Facebook?
“This album is a celebration of us as a five, us as a four.”
“You’ll be hearing us as a five for the last time – it’s perfection. With permission from his family, we put it on the album.
“We were recording this album anyway. One of them Save The Last Dance For Me. We didn’t get to record that as a five.
“We’ll take care of the listeners.”
Lachie also spoke of how much of a shock Timmy’s death was to the band.
“It was a giant shock for everyone and to all our fans and supporters,” he said.
“We went underground but stayed together. We have stuck together like a band of brothers.”
Fans of The Overtones were quick to comment on the heartfelt interview on Twitter.

Another added: “Adore the @the_overtones boys such amazing voices can’t wait to@listen to the new album rest easy Timmy.”
The Overtones announced that Timmy had died in earlier this year in a post shared on Twitter.
It read: “It is with the greatest sadness that we have to announce that our dear friend and brother Timmy has passed away.
“We know this news will be as heartbreaking for you all as it is for us.
“We appreciate your love and support at this difficult time. Mike, Darren, Mark & Lachie x.”
