Tiger Woods reveals secret to comeback after impressive round

Woods is second in the Arnold Palmer invitational after the first round having finished joint second in last week’s Valspar Championship.

Woods only returned to golf at the back end of last year following his fourth back operation in three years.

But now he’s fully fit the American is battling at the right end of leaderboards.

And with the first major of the year just around the corner, with the Masters in April, Woods believes he is getting back to his best.

“I feel way more comfortable in the tournament setting,” said Woods.

“It’s taken a little bit of time in terms of tournament rounds under my belt to be able to get into this position and I’ve got my tournament feels now, which is nice.

“That was only going to come with time and with patience and just playing golf tournaments.”

Tiger Woods has won 14 majors in his career, though the last of these came at the 2008 US Open.

He is now joint favourite for the Masters, which he has won four times.

Yet winning isn’t everything for Woods, who remembers just how far he has had to come in the past few years.

He added: “Well, I was struggling there for a number of years there and it was a very difficult life to live and now on this side I’m just very thankful to be here.”
