This Morning viewers STUNNED as Rylan Clark-Neal OBLITERATES Alison Hammond live on air

The presenting duo took part in an academic test from 12-year-old Joshua Briddon as the youngster is currently competing to be the next child genius.

Four questions stood between Rylan and Alison as they battled each other to be the smartest on This Morning.

Although both failed the first question on spelling “logorrhoea”, the 28-year-old X Factor star smashed each question after that, with the second focussing on his mathematical talent.

Joshua asked: “A cricket ball is bowled at a velocity of 43 metres per second, calculate in metres how far it travels in half a second.”

After Alison, 42, failed to answer correctly, Rylan calmly answered: “21 and a half meters?” leaving Alison gasping in disbelief.

The third question – which asked the pair to translate a Japanese phrase – went much the same way, with Rylan storming the answer before his co-host even had a look-in.

The final brainteaser asked: “If A is 20, B is five and C is 42, what is the value of B(C-A) – 11?”

Barely giving Joshua the chance to finish asking the question, Rylan offered the answer of 99.

Alison claimed the This Morning regular was cheating but it was all true and Rylan’s knowledge was confirmed.

Viewers of the ITV show were shocked, taking to Twitter to congratulate the host on his victory and his knowledge.

One posted: “Gosh Rylan is so good at maths, and so sweet with the little girl too. #ThisMorning.”

Another said: “Rylan is real smart! #ThisMorning @Rylan.”

A third added: “Shocked at how bright @Rylan is #ThisMorning.”

This Morning airs weekdays on ITV from 10.30am.
