The royal and his American fiancée announced they were to be wed in 2018 by Clarence House earlier today.
A statement read: “His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales is delighted to announce the engagement of Prince Harry to Ms. Meghan Markle. The wedding will take place in Spring 2018. Further details about the wedding day will be announced in due course.
“His Royal Highness and Ms. Markle became engaged in London earlier this month. Prince Harry has informed Her Majesty The Queen and other close members of his family.
“Prince Harry has also sought and received the blessing of Ms. Markle’s parents. The couple will live in Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace.”
However, as Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby discussed every inch of the engagement, fans didn’t quite feel the same way about the happy news.
Viewers flocked to Twitter to share their thoughts on the matter, with one writing: “Why are #ThisMorning going on this so much asking stupid questions about the dress already?! It’s ridiculous, talking to the US after the break, seriously! Is this what it’s gonna be like for the next god knows how long??”
Another raged: “Sorry guys I can’t deal with this Royal stuff. See you tomorrow when we get back to normal.”
A third posted: “Are you going to be talking about the #RoyalWedding all show? #ThisMorning.”
A fourth added: “Is this seriously gonna be 2 hours about a bloody engagement.”
This Morning airs weekdays on ITV at 10.30am.
