The former Spice Girl is said to be taking on Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford’s Friday duties as they host Monday to Thursday.
Geri would be juggling her new parent duties with the presenting role after giving birth to her second child, Monty, earlier this year.
The 44-year-old is reportedly thrilled with the new job, with a source telling the Daily Star: “Geri wants to reinvent herself as a telly host and this was an offer she couldn’t turn down.
“She is keen to take her TV career further, loves This Morning and has appeared on it several times,” they added.
The insider continued to say that she would undergo training for the role, saying: “It’s going to be the beginning of a glittering TV career.
“It’s a massive coup for This Morning to sign Geri. She is very popular and has a massive following, especially with stay-at-home mums.”
ITV’s daytime line-up has had a shake-up across the board as its regulars take their summer holidays.
It was announced earlier this week that Jeremy Kyle, Richard Madeley and Eamonn Holmes will fill in for Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid on Good Morning Britain over the following weeks.
