The Walking Dead season 8 spoilers: Andrew Lincoln CONFIRMS 'biggest ever' death

WARNING: The following article contains spoilers from  season eight, episode one.

The leader of the Alexandrians went to war with Negan (played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and the Saviors after he suffered a number of losses at the hands of the masochistic leader in season seven. 

Now as the violence ramps up for the eighth run, Andrew Lincoln who stars as Rick Grimes has warned viewers to prepare for a number of major deaths. 

Speaking about what fans of the show can expect in upcoming episodes, he teased: “It’s bigger than we’ve ever invented. What the writers have tried to do narratively, it’s a roller coaster this season. 

“It’s real life, but it is anchored with I think some of the biggest deaths we’ve ever dealt with. And the second half I think is even darker and deeper and more connected than we’ve ever done.”

“I’ve never been involved in the season that is so all-out,” he continued. 

The actor went on to add that he felt he had to deliver an explosive season, telling Entertainment Weekly: “I want this to be the best season we’ve ever done. In my heart, that’s what I want it to be.”

His comments come after it was hinted that as she finds herself in a sticky situation in episode two. 

The heroine can be seen issuing a warning to an unidentified group before heading into an abandoned building where she is tracked by a gunman.

The Walking Dead airs tonight on FOX UK. Seasons one to seven are currently available to watch on NOW TV.
