The Walking Dead season 8: Carol and Daryl REUNITED in first-look clip but will one die?

A first look at episode one, called Mercy, sees the pair share a tender moment as they go out on a hunt with Tara Chambler (played by Alanna Masterson) and Morgan Jones (Lenny James).

An approaching herd of walkers look like they are about to crash the party, and clearly the muscle of the group – Carol (Melissa McBride) and Daryl (Norman Reedus) – have been tasked with taking them out.

The latter tells his friend that war against Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) is “gonna be fun”, but Carol doesn’t see it that way.

Daryl replies: “It’s better than letting things be though. Right?”

With that, the tantalising teaser ends, but it begs the question – will one of them perish this season?

This comes as Norman has revealed Daryl’s upcoming killing spree for season eight.

He told Entertainment Weekly: “He’s just got revenge on his mind this year.

“He’s ready to kill everybody, no matter what the group says, no matter what anybody says.

“He’s just like, ‘Nah screw it – everybody dies’. He’s very focused on revenge,” the 49-year-old teased.

The Walking Dead returns to AMC on October 22 and will follow a day later on FOX UK. Seasons one to seven are currently available to watch on NOW TV.
