In an unprecedented move, The Greatest Showman film soundtrack has stunned critics and fans alike, remaining the UK No 1 album for the last 11 weeks.
Such a feat is only matched by Adele’s 21 and is a 30-year Official Chart record.
At this stage The Greatest Showman has sold almost half a million records in the UK alone and is set to be the biggest album of 2018.
However its top spot reign is now set to dethroned this week by George Ezra.
According to the Official Charts Company, Ezra’s second studio album Staying at Tamara’s is set to become the UK’s No 1 album this week, pushing The Greatest Showman down to second place.
Since its release on Friday, Ezra’s new record has combined sales of 37,000.
The Greatest Showman is still a bigger hit when it comes to streaming, but Ezra has the lead on physical and downloadable copies by more than 2-1.
Meanwhile The Greatest Showman movie has experienced great box office success, despite a poor opening weekend last December.
Having made over $ 400 million worldwide, The Greatest Showman managed to become UK No 1 in February.
The only other December release to manage this is Titanic – the second-highest grossing film of all time.
