The 56-year-old host was embarrassed that the Dark Destroyer sounded Australian while quoting one of his famous lines from The Italian Job.
Speaking to the first contestant, Shaun asked: “So you made travel arrangements for Michael Caine did you?” before putting on a voice.
“Well not a lot of people know that, except me of course. Because I know everything. My name is Michael Caine,” continued the 56-year-old chaser.
Presenter Bradley looked shocked and asked: “Is he from Australia?” prompting Shaun to carry on his impersonation, saying: “He’s from South London!”
Unimpressed at the lack of detail in the imitation, Bradley remarked: “I know what it is, and I know exactly what he sounds like! He sounds… no… nothing… not even slightly… remotely like him.”
Shaun replied: “Well I don’t think so Brad, alright?” leaving Bradley fuming that the quiz brain had shortened his name.
“I don’t think so Brad? Alright?” repeated the quiz show host. “What are you talking about? Let’s put some money on the table shall we?”
Siding with the poor contestant caught in the middle of the impression argument, Bradley said: “For goodness sake, just say you enjoy his impressions so he doesn’t start singing,” as he slipped into character himself to say: “Ollie, for four grand, The Chase is on. Got to do my Michael Caine impression now!”
