RELATED STORIES

Buck and Abby’s reunion on last Monday’s 9-1-1 finale may have been difficult to watch (so bittersweet!), but it was a behind-the-scenes joy for star Oliver Stark.

“Getting to work with Connie [Britton] again was really lovely,” Stark tells TVLine. “It felt like old times. There was no adjustment period, we just jumped right back into that working relationship. I was super excited when I first heard there was a possibility of her returning.”

Buck was similarly excited to see his ex-girlfriend back in Los Angeles, even if saving her new fiance from a mass-casualty train wreck probably wasn’t the best way for him to find out that she moved on. Between that fiery encounter and the duo’s devastating heart-to-heart overlooking the city, the chemistry remained; Stark says it felt like no time had passed.

“The first time around, I don’t think it took too much work,” Stark says, thinking back to Buck and Abby’s original Season 1 chemistry. “It just happened, and it was there. So it was really fulfilling to see that it still worked the second time around. They had some really lovely scenes. They weren’t the easiest on Buck, emotionally, but it was a really fun thing to get to shoot.”

In terms of crafting those dramatic scenes, showrunner Tim Minear tells TVLine, “As a fan of the show, while I wanted a great reunion between Buck and Abby, what I was really hungry for was a moment for Buck to go, ‘Why didn’t you call me?! What the hell happened?!’ … Buck feels mature to me at the end of that story. He feels like a guy who realizes that a chapter is over. It did them both some good, and he can’t be angry at her.”

911 Connie Britton ReturningAnd while we’re reflecting on Buck and Abby’s ill-fated romance, who’s up for a trip down TVLine Memory Lane? Our first interview with Stark was back in Jan. 2018, ahead of Buck’s first date with Abby, a task he called “exciting and daunting.”

“I was actually a little nervous for it,” he said. “Like, it’s Connie Britton. What if I’m rubbish and she’s like, ‘What are you doing?’ Fortunately, the first-date pressure is taken out a little bit because they’re essentially on a job. They have something else to focus on, but you still get these little undertones of ‘Oh, hi, we’re actually here.’” Simpler times.

Now that we’ve had a week to think about it, how do you feel about the way things ended between Buck and Abby? Drop a comment with your thoughts below.

It comes after fellow BBC soap EastEnders announced it would be putting a stop to filming for the foreseeable future.

The show announced via its social media accounts it would now be airing just two episodes per week in order to try and let viewers enjoy the soap for as long as possible.

The show will air instalments on Monday and Tuesday, halving the number of episodes viewers are used to tuning into.

In a statement to fans via Twitter, the show said: “In light of the spread of Covid-19, after much consideration, it has been decided that filming on EastEnders will be postponed until further notice.”

The Conners’ Live Episode Will React to Tuesday’s Primary Results Because Politics Hit the Working Class Hardest https://briefnews.eu/the-conners-live-episode-will-react-to-tuesdays-primary-results-because-politics-hit-the-working-class-hardest/ https://briefnews.eu/the-conners-live-episode-will-react-to-tuesdays-primary-results-because-politics-hit-the-working-class-hardest/#respond Sun, 09 Feb 2020 21:42:30 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/the-conners-live-episode-will-react-to-tuesdays-primary-results-because-politics-hit-the-working-class-hardest/

This Tuesday night, as the results of the New Hampshire primary for this year’s presidential election trickle in, The Conners will react to the news in real-time, in live episodes taped and broadcast for each coast.

In “Live from Lanford” (airing Tuesday at 8/7c on ABC), Mark for a school report will be watching the results of the New Hampshire primary with Harris, who is apathetic to the electoral process and believes money’s influence in politics means real change is impossible. The rest of the Conners will in turn share their differing takes on why they think everyone should vote, offering the working-class perspective that you may have to vote for a candidate you don’t love but one that will “screw you the least.”

(All of this happens against the backdrop of romance when Louise, played by guest star Katey Sagal, gets an opportunity that might send her away from Lanford, prompting the family to interfere in Dan’s complicated relationship with her by throwing his lady friend a surprise going-away party.)

The idea for not just a live episode but one that reacted, in real time, to ABC News coverage on the Conners’ TV screen, came from series creator Bruce Helford. “So whatever happens, you can blame me!” he told TVLine with a laugh last month at the TCA press tour.

Explaining the decision to add a breaking news twist to the live twist, he said, “I always felt like if you just do a show live, so what? Everybody’s waiting for someone to make a mistake, that’s all it is. We did live on The Drew Carey Show (which Helford also created), but we added an improv element so that things were happening that could go any way and be interesting. And with The Conners, no matter what we do, we’re a little bit supercharged when it comes to politics. Also, they’re working class families and they’re most affected by what’s going on in this country. They’re really getting hit.”

So, as characters stream in and out of the living room where Mark and Harris are watching the primary returns get reported, “They’re going to comment on it, and we’ll see what happens.”

In fact, they will see what happens two times, since the live episode will tape a second time for the West Coast, and thus find the characters responding to different news coverage than they did the first go-round.

“The first time we do it [for the East Coast], it will be early returns. And then later on, it will be more about the results,” Helford noted. “It’s nice, because it gives us a chance to say something meaningful about the process, and say it in a unique, Conners way.”

Brexit row erupts as Jamelia brands election ‘working class brainwashing’ https://briefnews.eu/brexit-row-erupts-as-jamelia-brands-election-working-class-brainwashing/ https://briefnews.eu/brexit-row-erupts-as-jamelia-brands-election-working-class-brainwashing/#respond Thu, 02 Jan 2020 21:41:23 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/brexit-row-erupts-as-jamelia-brands-election-working-class-brainwashing/

The English songwriter, who campaigned for the Labour Party ahead of the December election, was up against nutritionist and panellist Lowri Turner who called on Remainers to accept the majority of Britons now want Brexit to be delivered by Boris Johnson. She said: “Now Remainers who have said they’ve been right for three years and have called the rest of us stupid, now it’s time to say ‘you know what? We accept that other people have this view and it’s the majority of them’.”

But Jamelia replied: “I do think that we have to remember that it was a close call.”

Ms Turner blasted back: “The last election was not a close call!

“Shouldn’t we be dealing with where we are now?”

Host Jeremy Vine echoed Ms Turner’s question and asked: “Wasn’t the election the second referendum?”

To which the singer astonishingly replied: “The election was a successful brainwashing campaign of the working class, I’m sorry.”

After three and a half years, Britain is due to fulfil the mandate set by the British public in June 2016 and leave the European Union at the end of January.

After years of Brexit uncertainty, Prime Minister Boris Johnson has promised to ensure the Article 50 process is completed by January 31.

Mr Johnson will return to work this week as the head of the strongest Conservative-led Parliament since Margaret Thatcher was in office.

Britons are in a state of “Brexit fatigue” and Mr Johnson has said he hopes in the wake of the UK’s departure date on January 31, the country will be able to focus on other topics, namely NHS funding, education and the social care crisis.

Reportedly, the Government is determined to make Brexit a technical process which occurs in the background of daily life as opposed to the key topic of news agendas each day.

But Mr Johnson, in his triumphant December general election win, has now progressed the deal more than ever before and now the question is “what is the next deliverable aspect for Brexit?”

It is potentially a difficult balance of getting Brexit down at faster-than-necessary speeds, while simultaneously hoping no one much notices the impacts.

Power season 6: Angela Valdes alive and working against Ghost in huge twist? https://briefnews.eu/power-season-6-angela-valdes-alive-and-working-against-ghost-in-huge-twist/ https://briefnews.eu/power-season-6-angela-valdes-alive-and-working-against-ghost-in-huge-twist/#respond Sun, 29 Dec 2019 03:09:27 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/power-season-6-angela-valdes-alive-and-working-against-ghost-in-huge-twist/

The season five finale of Power saw Ghost (played by Omari Hardwick) left devastated when his lover and childhood sweetheart Angela Valdes was shot before his eyes by his best friend and business associate Tommy Egan. However, despite going to Angela’s funeral, fans are certain Ghost’s ex isn’t really dead.

It’s just over a week until season six returns after Ghost’s shooting and fans are questioning how the show will end.

One fan, 2Black2Strong, has suggested a number of storylines, one of which includes Angela being alive.

While some fans disagree with the theory noting her sister Paz is one of the suspects in the Who Shot Ghost? case, it isn’t totally unlikely.

There have been several occasions when someone has come back from the dead such as Kanan (Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson).

READ MORE: Power fans in frenzy as Tommy Egan star ‘rules out’ major suspect

The theory is plausible. Before Angela was shot she was seen working with Ghost, Tommy and Tasha St Patrick (Naturi Naughton) to avoid prosecution.

When they thought they were all safe, she met with Ghost at their old high school telling him she wanted to start afresh.

But before they could, Tommy shot her in the chest and she was rushed to hospital.

Both Paz and Ghost believe Angela is dead which would be a great way for the federal agent to work with the government to take down James St Patrick by handing over all the information she has on him.

Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Premiere Recap: Red, White and Working Blue https://briefnews.eu/marvelous-mrs-maisel-premiere-recap-red-white-and-working-blue/ https://briefnews.eu/marvelous-mrs-maisel-premiere-recap-red-white-and-working-blue/#respond Fri, 06 Dec 2019 16:25:57 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/marvelous-mrs-maisel-premiere-recap-red-white-and-working-blue/

RELATED STORIES

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel served her country with distinction in the Season 3 premiere, kicking off her first big tour with a rowdy USO show — while her father Abe fought a war on the homefront.

We pick up where we left off, with Midge in bed with her ex Joel: After their night together, she kisses him tenderly on the cheek and sneaks out before he can wake up. Next thing we know, she and Susie are driving up to an Army base filled with soldiers while a line of showgirls in feathered headdresses tap-dance on stage. Midge is opening for musician Shy Baldwin, and Susie warns her to keep her act clean: “Don’t say f—k,” and no dick jokes… even though Midge has plenty of those, apparently. She’ll have plenty of cash soon, too: Susie’s preparing to ask for $ 4,500 for the six-month tour. (Which was a lot of money back then!)

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 3 Shy BaldwinMidge takes the stage, dressed in a patriotic red, white and blue, and dishes out a series of military-themed gags that have the soldiers in stitches. (Let’s be honest: They also hoot and holler when she does a twirl for them.) She gets so caught up in the moment, she almost forgets to introduce Shy and his band — which is the whole reason she’s there, after all. Shy takes over and sings one of his hits titled “One Last Angel in Heaven” (a pretty catchy tune, actually), and afterwards, Midge apologizes profusely for not introducing him. Susie doesn’t make things any better: After giving Shy a confused look, she tells him, “You sound fat on your albums.”

Midge calls Joel to check in, and it’s a bit awkward: She wonders why he didn’t call after their night together, and he notes she didn’t call, either. They end up bickering, with Joel reminding her that “you made it very, very clear: one night only.” Besides, he’s busy with a new business venture, signing a lease for a cheap storage space in Chinatown with dreams of turning it into a nightclub. It seems too good to be true… and it is. While he’s proudly showing it off, Joel discovers a secret room in the back where dozens of Chinese people are gambling. An English-speaking Chinese woman assures him it’s just “a family gathering,” before concluding: “Leave us alone, and we’ll leave you alone.” Simple enough!

Once the USO show wraps up, Midge gets roped into taking a few photos and agreeing to attend a canteen dance on the base that night. (You know, for the boys.) While Susie takes a call from a furious Sophie Lennon, who lowered herself to travel “below 14th Street” just to ask Susie to be her manager, Midge heads home to change and finds her parents in the middle of a huge fight. Since Abe quit his job at Columbia, they’re forced to move out of their apartment, which the school paid for. Abe doesn’t mind downsizing — “Who needs all these rooms?” — but he also unloads on his daughter, calling her a quitter for ditching Benjamin. Midge fires back that for all of Abe’s big talk about free speech, her pal Lenny Bruce is actually out there fighting for freedom of expression.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 3 Lenny BruceAbe has to see this for himself, so he shows up at a Lenny Bruce show just in time to see the cops haul Lenny away for violating obscenity laws. Abe stands up and protests, insisting that Lenny didn’t do anything wrong, and ends up getting thrown behind bars right along with him. (Rose is nice enough to bail them both out.) At the canteen dance, Midge learns she was only invited because she’s a cute girl and the boys need someone to dance with — and also learns that Susie will be representing her arch nemesis Sophie Lennon. “That psychotic giraffe of a woman has been trying to destroy me for a year,” she reminds Susie, who insists that Midge is “still everything to me,” but she can’t turn down a huge business opportunity like this. A still-fuming Midge gets pulled away in a conga line… and Season 3 is officially off and running.

The Detour’s Natalie Zea Spills on Her Dual Role, Including Working the Pole https://briefnews.eu/the-detours-natalie-zea-spills-on-her-dual-role-including-working-the-pole/ https://briefnews.eu/the-detours-natalie-zea-spills-on-her-dual-role-including-working-the-pole/#respond Tue, 09 Jul 2019 02:17:44 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/the-detours-natalie-zea-spills-on-her-dual-role-including-working-the-pole/ TBS’ The Detour (Tuesdays at 10:30/9:30c) has embarked on one its more unexpected side trips, with the reveal that Robin has a twin, named Bluejay. “BJ,” as she is called (and for which she is regarded?), at first came off as just a wilder child, then later revealed herself to be downright bats—t.

When last we tuned in, BJ was at “husband” Nate’s side, having chopped her locks to match her twin’s and left an unconscious Robin shackled inside a barn. So if you’re a fan of Natalie Zea, this uproarious arc is truly twice as nice. What turns will the case of the duplicitous doppelgänger take? TVLine invited Zea to tease what’s to come — as well as weigh in on her real-life husband’s “idiotic” role in it all.

TVLINE | As I said on Twitter last week, I was not expecting two of you.
Yeah, well, me neither. [Laughs] I mean, obviously I was, but prior to that, I wasn’t.

TVLINE | Was the dual role any kind of a secret about this season that you weren’t able to share with people?
It’s funny, because I did a few interviews before the season started, with people who had seen [screeners], and everybody asked me about it, so I guess it wasn’t a huge secret. I guess it depends on who you ask, because I thought it would be a great little surprise. I think it was a nice little twist.

TVLINE | How much time did you get to prepare for BJ?
Well, we get scripts for, like, the first three-quarters of the season before we start shooting. So, I had it, but I’m not big on preparation, so I didn’t do a lot. A lot of that was, like, game-day stuff, but I think it’s OK, because again, a lot of it’s just in the…

TVLINE | So much of it is her language.
Totally, yeah. I really don’t have to do much.

TVLINE | Did you get to do any evil twin stuff over on Passions? I was trying to remember….
No. No, there were a couple people who got to be evil twins. I wasn’t one of them. I wasn’t quite important enough!

TVLINE | So, no chance to pick up any of the tricks about how to act opposite yourself, to have the right eyeline and everything….
No, but when I did The Following, Sam Underwood played twins, so I was prepared for how tedious it can be. I mean, it wasn’t tedious for us, because our schedule is so unrealistic, to be honest. There was no tedium, but there’s a lot of repetition, because you have to do everything twice. I was prepared for that, because I had watched Sam do it, and the guy they had hired to play Sam’s double was so great. He really put a lot of effort into it. [Co-star/series co-creator] Jason [Jones] and I we were on the same page with making sure that my doubles, the BJ double and the Robin double, were actors instead of just [stand-ins].

TVLINE | I hear that all the time, that it’s really important.
Really important, and they were incredible. One of them went onto YouTube and watched interviews of me so that she could get my cadence and gestures down. Crazy, right? They were honestly two of the hardest-working people on the show this season, they were just so present. I mean, there were very, very, very long days, and sometimes one of them wasn’t doing anything except standing off-camera and watching my gestures, aping me as I’m doing the scene, so that when it comes back around, she can make sure that she’s in sync.

TVLINE | That is the one thing that drives me nuts with doubles, is when you can tell they’re just standing there, and I’m like, “Natalie’s more animated than that! She gesticulates! She would cock her head there!”
Yeah. They really, really had it down, and what was crazy is they both were very specific about who they were playing. They weren’t just being me playing these characters. One was very specifically BJ and one was very specifically Robin. They went all-out. It was great.

TVLINE | What’s going to be hardest for BJ passing herself as Robin?
[Her eventual downfall] ends up being something really stupid, of course, a slip that should’ve been a gimme. She fouls it up at the last minute.

TVLINE | I guess the question might actually be: Does she even try?
Yes. I will say yes, in her own way.

TVLINE | And what’s it going to take for Robin to get out of her predicament? We last saw her knocked out and chained up in a barn.
Well, she has to be dependent on some real idiots. [Sarcastically] She’s really super-patient with that kind of stuff, too. So, it should be “fine.”

TVLINE | One of those idiots is played by Mr. Travis Schuldt (Zea’s husband of nearly five years).
Indeed. He wasn’t going to come to location, because our daughter was starting school and he was actually working a lot on Splitting Up Together during the same time. He was like, “Look, you’re on your own, we’re not coming to see you.” So, I asked Jason if he could hire him for an episode or two, just to get my family out to Vancouver. He ended up getting to come out for two weeks, and then another two weeks later on, and it all happened to land on my daughter’s birthday, so it couldn’t have worked out better.

Natalie Zea Travis SchuldtTVLINE | Objectively speaking…. How did he do as an idiot?
That’s kind of his niche, so…. had he f—ked this one up, it would’ve been really embarrassing. It’s, like, his forte, so he really had no excuse to not nail it.

TVLINE | Knowing this storyline was coming up, did you make any effort to make Robin a little more, not “nerdy,” but….
Not crazy? More subdued? No. That would’ve been a really good acting note, so thanks for that after the fact. [Laughs]

TVLINE | Because when BJ remarks on what a drip Robin is, I’m like, “She’s not, though. She’s cool.”
I know, she’s not that bad. But BJ’s also f—king insane, so… you can’t really trust anything she says.

TVLINE | Have you ever spoken more coarsely for a character?
Yes, because I’ve done two Tom Kapinos shows (Californication and White Famous). But minus the Tom Kapinos shows, that would be a no. BJ definitely doesn’t hold much back with her language.

TVLINE | I don’t think it’s a spoiler to say that one of your characters does some pole-dancing in this week’s episode. Surely there are some anecdotes from that experience.
Well, as with everything on The Detour, there was no real rehearsal or discussion of what was going to happen. We just basically let the cameras roll, and I went for it, and Jason does what he does best — he just reacted. It was not a sexy dance. Nothing is sexy about this dance…

TVLINE | But it looked tricky, some of the stunt-y moves, like when you get your foot stuck in a [spoiler].
Yes, thank you. No easy feat, right? But my stunt double did the big stunt [at the end of the routine].

TVLINE | I screamed when that happened.
Yeah, that was not me, even if I wanted to.

TVLINE | You guys are so brave on this show with physical humor.
Honestly, when I look at it on the page, I usually don’t understand, and then once we get to set, it starts making a bit more sense. It’s very much all inside [Jason’s] brain.

TVLINE | This show keeps reinventing its premise. Will the finale hint at what Season 5 might be about, if you get renewed?
The last few scenes of the season finale will not make any sense until/unless there’s another season. So, talk to the boys upstairs!

TVLINE | Speaking of finales, as part of TVLine’s End of Decade roll-out, we named Justified one of the best series finales of the 2010s.
Yeah, everybody kind of got their happy ending…. It’s funny, because when you’re a little further removed from it, you’re like, “Well, that’s the only way that could’ve ended.” I think it was really bold and brave of them to make it a sort of blood-free episode, you know? Like, not blood-free literally, but there was no sort of comeuppance for anyone in that sort of sense, and I think that that was sort of, ironically, the biggest twist of all. Everybody came out relatively unscathed.

TVLINE | You had Raylan and Winona enjoying some ice cream, watching the kid romp around. It was downright domestic.
How unexpected, and great! I just remember, in the weeks and months leading up to that, there was a lot of speculation about how Justified was going to end, and who was going to die. It was very Game of Thrones, like, “OK, who’s going to make the kill list? Because obviously it’s going to be a blood-bath”….

TVLINE | But even Wynn Duffy survived!
Yeah, everybody did. Yeah.

Coronation Street spoilers: Fans berate Shona for working in cafe with 'hygiene problem' https://briefnews.eu/coronation-street-spoilers-fans-berate-shona-for-working-in-cafe-with-hygiene-problem/ https://briefnews.eu/coronation-street-spoilers-fans-berate-shona-for-working-in-cafe-with-hygiene-problem/#respond Mon, 11 Mar 2019 02:00:48 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/coronation-street-spoilers-fans-berate-shona-for-working-in-cafe-with-hygiene-problem/

Shona Ramsey (played by Julia Goulding) has been a loyal worker at Roy Cropper’s cafe (David Neilson), always delivering service with a smile.

Although, her manners have never been brought into question, Coronation Street fans picked up on a huge problem with the mother-of-one.

Eagle-eyed viewers noticed the cafe worker, and girlfriend of David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd), wore glossy red nail polish to serve up food at Roy’s Rolls.

Her perfectly manicured nails concerned fans, who worried it may contaminate the food served up in the cafe.

Some fans of the show took to Manchester Evening News’ Facebook page to complain about the characters’ claws.

One person wrote: “Ok, I know it’s not real life but why is Shona working in the cafe with nail varnish on?”

“I’ve always said about this, it wouldn’t be allowed,” another commentator added.

A third soap watcher shared a link to trading standard guidelines about food business staff and hygiene.

One particular section pointed out staff must not wear polish because “nail varnish may chip and tiny pieces end up in food, or on equipment, utensils and food wrappings”.

Seconding this sentiment, a fourth person said: “It’s in case it peels off and goes into the food. In some establishments they don’t wear gloves.”

But not everyone was as fazed by Shona’s nail polish, with one pointing out that previously in Coronation Street “Gail and Alma licked their fingers while buttering bread!”

Someone else exclaimed: “A lot of female chefs wear nail varnish!”

Considering Shona recently escaped being held hostage by her own son, Clayton Hibbs (Callum Harrison), and then got engaged to David shortly after, nail polish is probably the least of her concerns right now.

The mother-of-one stabbed her son when a fight between the two ensued while she was held in a derelict building in last week’s instalment of the show.

After, Shona staggered out of the building Clayton had her held hostage in covered in blood and then collapsed in David arms.

Much to fans’ surprise, it was revealed Shona was not wounded during the brawl, with a paramedic confirming this to David.

However, viewers were put off by the level of violence and took to Twitter to discuss the scene in question.

One fan said: “Way too violent before the watershed, especially showing the knife!”

Another tweeted: “Not sure this is appropriate viewing at this time of night? Especially with the knife crime crisis at present!”

A third added: “This storyline has gone too far in light of the knife crimes recently reported and it is before the watershed.”

Coronation Street continues tonight on ITV at 7.30pm and 8.30pm.

Patrick Mahomes working on new trick throw ahead of Chiefs vs Colts playoff game https://briefnews.eu/patrick-mahomes-working-on-new-trick-throw-ahead-of-chiefs-vs-colts-playoff-game/ https://briefnews.eu/patrick-mahomes-working-on-new-trick-throw-ahead-of-chiefs-vs-colts-playoff-game/#respond Sat, 12 Jan 2019 19:34:48 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/patrick-mahomes-working-on-new-trick-throw-ahead-of-chiefs-vs-colts-playoff-game/

The 23-year-old is having a fantastic second season in the . He leads the league in touchdowns, with 50, has passed for 5,097 yards and finished the season with a quarterback rating of 113.8.

Mahomes, who will be playing in his first playoff game of his career, has already amazed fans with his passing ability.

The young MVP candidate has already demonstrated he has a left-handed throw and a no-look throw in his arsenal, but he’s now working on a behind-the-back pass as well.

Chiefs backup quarterback Chad Henne told NFL Network reporter James Palmer about Mahomes new trick play.

“As back-up quarterback Chad Henne penning told me, it is an extension of his personality,” Palmer said.

“It’s his creativity. The left-handed throw, the no-look pass.

“Henne told me something he has been working on, something in practice this last several weeks, thats a behind-the-back pass.

“Henne told me he doesn’t know when Mahomes will pull it out, but it looks like we haven’t seen all of Mahomes’ tricks.”

The Chiefs come into the Divisional round of the playoffs as the number one seed in the AFC and the Colts, who are the sixth seed, progressed from the Wild Card round after a 21-7 victory over the Houston Texans.

Despite it being Mahomes’ first appearance Chiefs head coach Andy Reid is confident he won’t be overawed by the occasion.

“So far, I haven’t seen anything that is too big for Pat,” Reid said.

“I’m not worried about that. He’s going to get himself ready just like he does every week to play against a good football team.

“I don’t think he is wired the other way. I’m not predicting anything – that’s not what I’m doing here.

“I’m just telling you, matter of fact, that it’s how he’s wired and how he goes about his business.”

In the build up to the game at Arrowhead Stadium Mahomes revealed he is excited about being in the playoffs.

“Every playoff game is big. For me, this is my first playoff game. I’m excited just to be here and to get the opportunity to go out there and win games like this,” Mahomes said.

“When you’re growing up, you want to go and play games like this.

“When you get older, you want to be a professional athlete and you want to win on the biggest stage.

“For me, it’s all about going out there, being myself, leaning on my teammates and winning a football game.”
