The BBC One show saw award-winning actress Ruth Wilson playing the lead role in the new original three-part drama, based on the life of her own grandmother, Alison Wilson. Mrs Wilson’s story began in 1963 as Alison returned home to find her husband Alexander (played by Iain Glen) dead on the floor of their bedroom. Alison was utterly shocked when a woman unexpectedly arrived at her family home claiming to be Alec’s “real wife” Gladys (Elizabeth Rider). However, while some of the background of second wife Gladys was explored, it was third wife Dorothy Wick (Keeley Hawes) that really left Alison and viewers at home shaken. Keeley plays mysterious Dorothy, turned up unannounced at Alec’s funeral before disappearing. While Alison didn’t meet Dorothy, she did spot her leave the church. Later at the graveyard, a mysterious man asked Alison if she was Alec’s wife. Confirming she was Alec’s wife, the man then referred to her as Dorothy. Instantly calling him out on the slip, Alison has now come to realise there are even more secrets to discover about her late husband. Was his previous divorce papers forged? How did he manage to lead his “double life”? How many more children is Alec a father to? It has become clear to Alison that Alec died holding further secrets close to his chest. Alison has now been left craving the truth after making the discoveries that threaten to tear her carefully crafted world apart. By dissecting their wartime romance while working for the secret service, Alison learned about his mysterious past in India. Actress Keeley, 42 explained to TV Times: “It’s one revelation after another and it’s one of the most incredible stories I’ve ever heard. “If it wasn’t real, you’d think it was too much, but truth is stranger than fiction. I can’t help having sympathy for him, though. “I try to think, ‘How could you?’ but it was such a mess and he got himself in so tight that he couldn’t unravel it.” Will Alison keep the truth from her two sons, or will it all become too much to hide? The synopsis for next week’s second episode reads: “Visiting Coleman again, Alison demands to know who Dorothy is. “Coleman tells Alison to stop digging and darkly suggests that, if she persists, she may jeopardise her sons’ futures.” Mrs Wilson continues next Tuesday on BBC One at 9pm.

Released next year, the final part of the John Wick trilogy will hit cinemas.
But while fans may have expected the hitman sequel to be called John Wick: Chapter 3, Reeves had something else to say.
Speaking with Coming Soon, the 53-year-old said: “It’s both! John Wick 3: Parabellum.
When asked the meaning of the word parabellum, Reeves quoted a famous line.
He revealed: “Prepare for war. It’s part of that famous sentence, “Si vis pacem, para bellum,” which translates as, “If you want peace, prepare for war.”
Parabellum is also a type of semi-automatic pistol or machine gun, which could appear in John Wick 3.
He also teased the plot and Halle Berry’s character’s involvement, adding: “Yeah, John Wick is fighting for his life and thinks that Halle Berry’s character has some information for him.
“They have a past, and they get involved with The High Table, this kind of overlording entity.”
He said: “It’s going to be a good way to wrap up what has become something of a trilogy.
“Without giving too much away, there’s a reason we named it chapters instead of part one, two and three.”
But how’s it going to start? Fans will remember at the end of John Wick Chapter 2, the hitman is in some of a pickle.
He’s killed a man on Continental hotel grounds and now Ian McShane’s Winston, has no choice but to launch an international contract to kill John – giving him just one hour to get a head start before it goes live.
Strangely he gives John a medallion, like the blood oath one from earlier in the film, telling him: “You might need this.”
We asked Chad what was going on there and what its impact will be in Chapter 3.
He revealed: “We purposely left that ambiguous. You could take it two ways. You could take it as Winston handing John back his marker, so he basically has the blank cheque.
“Or is it Winston handing join a marker saying, you can call in a favour? I’m fairly certain that’ll be answered in Chapter 3.”
John Wick Chapter 3: Parabellum will be released on May 17, 2019.
John Wick 3 officially has a title. Keanu Reeves, the star of the cult action series, has confirmed that the third entry in the John Wick franchise is called John Wick 3: Parabellum.
The third John Wick movie will buck the trend and do away with the “Chapters” in its titles. Instead, the newest John Wick film will be named John Wick 3: Parabellum, Reeves confirmed to ComingSoon.
When asked whether the title for the third John Wick film was John Wick 3 or the rumored Parabellum, Reeves responded, “It’s both! John Wick 3: Parabellum.” This comes as a nice confirmation of a title that has been floating around as John Wick 3‘s working title for months now.
So what exactly does the fancy word “parabellum” mean? Reeves explained:
“Prepare for war. It’s part of that famous sentence, ‘Si vis pacem, para bellum,’ which translates as, ‘If you want peace, prepare for war.’”
Yes, it sounds like our favorite assassin is going to war in John Wick 3: Parabellum against legions of assassins who are after the lofty bounty placed on his head. It makes sense considering the dire circumstances John Wick found himself in at the end of John Wick: Chapter 2, after violating the sacred rules of the Continental by killing someone on the hotel’s grounds.
The next entry in the John Wick franchise is highly anticipated after the first two films bucked expectations to become some of the most stylish and acclaimed action flicks of the past decade. The franchise has become so popular that it has begun to expand to comic books and television, with a spin-off TV series The Continental in the works at STARZ with acclaimed writer/producer Chris Collins (Sons of Anarchy) executive producing. A spin-off feature film Ballerina, following a female child assassin, is also in the works.
Derek Kolstad and Chad Stahelski are returning to write and direct John Wick 3: Parabellum, respectively. Ian McShane, Common, Laurence Fishburne, Lance Reddick, and Ruby Rose are expected to reprise their roles, while Halle Berry, Angelica Huston, Asia Kate Dillon, Mark Dacascos, and Jason Mantzoukas, and Hiroyuki Sanada (who will reportedly play the villain) have all been confirmed as new additions to the cast.
John Wick 3: Parabellum will be the first movie in the Wick franchise to hit theaters in the summer. It arrives on May 17, 2019, and you can read even more about it right here.

Be seeing you… 5.17.19. – #JohnWick3 pic.twitter.com/UN2US3UYnf
— John Wick: Chapter 3 (@JohnWickMovie) May 17, 2018
John Wick: Chapter 3 is currently filming, and we’re all pretty excited about that. We won’t see an actual teaser or trailer for a while, but here’s a motion poster to keep you satisfied for now. This tweet also confirms what you probably could’ve guessed already: the film is called John Wick: Chapter 3. Keanu Reeves returns as everyone’s favorite well-dressed hitman, who must now fight his way out of New York City. John Wick: Chapter 3 hits theaters May 17, 2019.
We all thought Lethal Weapon 5 was dead at this point. But…maybe not? In an interview with Gilbert Gottfried’s Amazing Colossal Podcast, director Richard Donner said that Lethal Weapon 5 is “coming up”. Donner didn’t offer any new info, but this is a sharp contrast to Donner’s previous statement, in which he said “I don’t think it’s gonna happen.” In the past, the status of Lethal Weapon 5 has been up in the air. Both Mel Gibson and Danny Glover are apparently down to return, and Donner wants to direct, but the project has gone from seeming like a sure thing to an impossibility over and over again. Now, Donner seems to think it’s definitely happening. We’ll see.
The Paddington films are wonderful. They’re charming, funny films about a nice bear doing nice things for nice people. It’s nice! We as a society of terrible shitheads don’t deserve such nice movies, but I hope they keep making them anyway. So will there be a Paddington 3? Paddington himself, Ben Wishaw, doesn’t really know. As Wishaw tells it, Paddington director Paul King might need a break. Speaking with THR, the actor said:
“I would be up for one, but I think Paul King, who is the writer and the director and instrumental in making those films what they were, I think he quite rightly needs a break… It’s a tremendous amount of work that goes into those films, so I’m not sure if it will happen. Or, if it does, I’m not sure when it will happen… I can’t imagine doing it without Paul. For me, he’s the films. He’s a bit like Paddington Bear himself, I dunno if I could do it without him”
While I respect King’s need for some downtime, I hope he gets the go-ahead to make Paddington 3 sooner rather than later, because I need more of that marmalade loving bear in my life.
Let’s move from one Ben Wishaw story to another, shall we? In addition to playing Paddington, Wishaw also plays Q in the Bond franchise. While no official announcement has been made yet, everyone is pretty sure Danny Boyle is going to helm Bond 25, the next entry in the spy series. So when is Bond 25 going to start shooting? According to Wishaw, it won’t be until the end of the year. In an interview with THR, the actor said:
“I think it’s not happening until the end of the year, so I have no idea. I know as much as you do! I believe I’m contracted to be in it. That’s as much as I know… I was thrilled when I read that he [Danny Boyle] was going to be doing it. I can’t think of a better, more exciting director for Daniel [Craig], for the way that he’s taken the character. I think it’ll be really exciting to work with him. I’ve been such a big fan.”
As of now, Bond 25 is expected to hit theaters November 8, 2018.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom has been uploading a series of behind-the-scenes featurettes called Jurassic Journals. They feature Chris Pratt talking to various members of the cast and crew of the upcoming Jurassic sequel. This latest journal features script supervisor Kelly Krieg. These videos haven’t been earth-shattering, but it’s kind of nice that the production is taking the time to highlight members of a movie crew who usually remain out of the spotlight. It takes a lot of people to get a movie – especially a big movie – like this made, and it’s nice to give them some attention. And speaking of Jurassic World, here’s an amusing photo of Jurassic World 3 director Colin Trevorrow and Jurassic World 3 co-writer Emily Carmichael on the Jurassic Park ride at Universal Studios.
This image of @emilycarmichael and @colintrevorrow on the JP ride tells you all you need to know about JW3. Here’s a new poster for The Equalizer 2. The big difference between this sequel and the first Equalizer? Hair. Denzel Washington was bald in the first Equalizer, but based on this poster, he has hair in this film. This is a whole new ball game! The Equalizer 2 has Washington once again playing ass-kicker Robert McCall, who “returns to deliver his special brand of vigilante justice – but how far will he go when it’s someone he loves?” Find out the answer to this question when The Equalizer 2 opens July 20, 2018.
David Leitch is on top of the world right now. He’s got Deadpool 2 in theaters, and he’s currently working on the Fast and Furious spin-off Hobbs and Shaw. And then there’s the possibility of Atomic Blonde 2. When asked about that potential sequel, Leitch said:
“Oh, I would love to continue Lorraine’s story. If there’s will on all parties…it shall be. I think she’s an incredible character and it’s a really fun and interesting world and it’s an interesting take on the spy genre, sort of like revisionist history look that’s centered around a character with an existential crisis and then we wrap it up with some great trappings of music and hardcore action.”
As for Hobbs and Shaw, Leitch added that he thinks the film will appeal to fans of the Fast and Furious franchise:
“I think that we want to appeal to the fans that love the Fast universe and we definitely want to give them the spectacle that they expect. But again, the thing that makes the Fast movies work is the characters they’ve created, right? And Dwayne and Jason’s characters together are so fun and they’re some of my favorite parts of it. I’m excited to put them in crazy situations and make them survive and see where it takes them. In the universe, they come from more the spy world and the agent world and I think we want to lean into their worlds and expand their universe as well and have fun with that. Look, those movies are fun and I’m a huge fan so I’m excited to take my swing at it and do my own take.”
Jenn Murray, who has appeared in Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, is boarding another franchise. According to Variety, Murray will co-star in Maleficent 2. Both Angelina Jolie and Elle Fanning are expected to return for the live-action Disney film. Who is Murray playing? No one knows yet! How’s that for a story, folks? In fact, no one even knows what Maleficent 2 is going to be about. We just know it’s happening. Movies!
You may have noticed Deadpool 2 has a pretty boring title, as far as modern-day sequels go. Usually, when a big movie gets a big sequel, it has some sort of stupid subtitle. You might have expected the film to be called Deadpool: Rise of the X-Force or some nonsense like that. But no, the filmmakers settled on Deadpool 2. When asked about this, Deadpool 2 writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick revealed that Deadpool 2 just seemed like the right title to use. Speaking with CinemaBlend, Reese said:
“I think we contemplated the idea of doing one of those silly titles. But it’s been done for 20 years now and it just felt a little bit like a cliche and maybe beneath us. So we decided let’s just keep it Deadpool 2.”
To which Wernick added:
“Strangely, calling it Deadpool 2 made it fresh to us.”

John Wick Chapter 3 has commenced filming, and we have the set photo to prove it. Cinematographer Dan Laustsen posted a photo from day two of filming the Keanu Reeves sequel, and it’s predictably stylish and cool. See the John Wick Chapter 3 photo below.
Are you ready for John Wick Chapter 3? Lord knows I am, but we’re all going to have to wait a little while – the film doesn’t arrive in theaters for a full year. In the meantime, we can take comfort in this gloriously stylish set photo provided by cinematographer Dan Laustsen.
Here we see the silhouette of Keanu Reeves’ John Wick as he stands on a rainy New York City street. Is there neon? You bet your ass there’s neon. It wouldn’t be a John Wick movie without neon, baby.
Chad Stahelski is helming the sequel, with a script from screenwriter Derek Kolstad. Of course, Keanu Reeves is back as the dog-loving hitman John Wick. At the end of John Wick Chapter 2, John pretty much torched his credibility by breaking a very big hitman law: he murdered someone within the hallowed halls of the hitman hotel the Continental. As a result, he’s now a wanted man. Everyone in New York City will be gunning for John – literally. An official synopsis was released during CinemaCon, and while it really doesn’t tell us much – it’s essentially a recap of the ending of the second film – we’ll take what we can get:
“John Wick (Keanu Reeves) is on the run for two reasons… he’s being hunted for a global $ 14 million dollar open contract on his life, and for breaking a central rule: taking a life on Continental Hotel grounds. The victim was a member of the High Table who ordered the open contract. John should have already been executed, except the Continental’s manager, Winston, has given him a one-hour grace period before he’s “Excommunicado” – membership revoked, banned from all services and cut off from other members. John uses the service industry to stay alive as he fights and kills his way out of New York City.”
Beyond that, we still don’t know a whole lot about the film. We know that Keanu Reeves will be running around, wearing a suit and shooting some guns. And we know it’ll be stylish-as-hell. Otherwise, we also know that the events of Chapter 2 were intended to directly set up Chapter 3. “The whole purpose of John Wick: Chapter 2 was to get us into John Wick 3,” director Chad Stahelski has said. “All the cool stuff we showed you in 1 and 2—we call it the service industries [for assassins]—we wanted to take that away. John Wick was about showing you and giving; John Wick 2 was about taking everything away from him.”
John Wick: Chapter 3 opens on May 17, 2019, and you can read everything we know about the sequel right here.

First there was 28 Days Later, then 28 Weeks Later. If you were expecting 28 Months Later to hit theaters some day, it’s time to give up on that dream. During a Reddit AMA to promote his new film Annihilation, 28 Days Later writer Alex Garland was asked if there were any plans to film another 28 Days… sequel. Garland’s reply: “Kind of, but doubt it will ever happen.” That’s fine. The first two movies are good enough to stand on their own, and it feels as if too much time has passed for a third. Let’s all move on, shall we?
Editing #Glass almost 2/3 done 1st pass. It takes about 10-11 weeks for me to do a 1st pass. That’s 6-8 hours a day in editing. #noshortcuts

Can Glass come out today? I’d very much like to see M. Night Shyamalan’s new film which serves a sequel to both Unbreakable and Split. Right now. But I guess I’ll have to wait, because Shyamalan isn’t done editing it yet. The director took to twitter to offer a quick update on the process so far. Pick up the pace, M. Night! We want to see this thing! Glass opens January 18, 2019.

The trashy-yet-fun action series launched by Olympus Has Fallen keeps chugging along. After Olympus came London Has Fallen. Next up is Angel Has Fallen, which will see Gerard Butler’s Secret Service Agent Mike Banning trying to stop terrorists on board Air Force One (which kind of makes this sound like a remake of Air Force One, but let’s ignore that). Deadline reports Piper Perabo has joined the cast; no word on who she’s playing. Morgan Freeman also stars. Angel Has Fallen is due out some time this year.
The heart of the world’s greatest hero lives on. Gipsy Avenger reporting for duty! #PacificRimUprising pic.twitter.com/hGam0KoLhe
— Pacific Rim (@PacificRim) February 13, 2018
There’s a new Pacific Rim Uprising video that highlights one of the film’s Jaegers, Gipsy Avenger. Jaegers, you may remember, are big-ass robots that operate via mind control, and also fight giant monsters. John Boyega stars in the sci-fi sequel from director Steven S. DeKnight. Look for Pacific Rim Uprising in theaters March 23, 2018.

Remember the classic sci-fi mini-series V? I don’t, but I’m sure someone out there does, because they’re making a new movie. Deadline reports Kenneth Johnson, creator of the original V, will reboot the series as a new movie: V the Movie. Catchy title! The synopsis for the original mini-series can be seen below. I would wager that the new film will adopt the same premise, in addition to updating things for modern times.
A race of aliens arrives on Earth appearing as human but requiring special glasses to protect their eyes; a few suspicious humans discover their true intentions and prepare to resist.

Mile 22, the latest team-up between Mark Wahlberg and Peter Berg, hasn’t even hit theaters and there’s already a sequel in the works. Per Deadline, in addition to the film’s July 20 release date, “a sequel, scripted TV series and VR component already in development.” In Mile 22, Wahlberg plays “an elite American intelligence officer, aided by a top-secret tactical command unit,” who “tries to smuggle a mysterious police officer with sensitive information out of the country.” How will they stretch this premise into a sequel, a TV show and a “VR component”? Who knows!

Exciting news: John Wick Chapter 3 is going to begin filming earlier than expected. Omega Underground confirms the Chad Stahelski-directed sequel starring Keanu Reeves as everyone’s favorite hitman will start shooting April 26. In addition to this news, TheHashtagShow claims that Japanese action star Hiroyuki Sanada (Westworld) will play the film’s villain. Ian McShane, Common, Laurence Fishburne, Ruby Rose and John Wick’s dog Dog Wick are all set to return for the film.

The Cloverfield Paradox was a disappointment, but the Clover-franchise marches on. Next up: Overlord, aka Cloverfield 4. Producer J.J. Abrams spoke with Digital Spy and dropped some knowledge of the upcoming film. ““Overlord… first of all, it’s something that I can’t wait for you to see ’cause the director, Julius Avery, has done an amazing job on it,” Abrams said. “But the specifics, you know, we should wait and see. But that’s really a crazy movie.” Whoa, now, Abrams. A crazy movie, you say? I don’t know if I’m ready for that! Overlord is expected out October 26, 2018.

— Zach Galligan (@zwgman) February 13, 2018
Please, someone let Zach Galligan star in Gremlins 3. Rumblings of a third Gremlins film have persisted ever since Gremlins 2: The New Batch hit theaters in 1990, but momentum has stalled. Galligan, who starred in the first two films, took to his twitter account to insist that not only does he want a Gremlins 3, he wants it to be done with practical effects and no CGI, which is wise, since a CGI Gizmo would look weird.

The indie-horror film He Never Died, starring Henry Rollins, was pretty good. I don’t know if it warrants a sequel, but it’s getting one nonetheless. The Hollywood Reporter confirms a He Never Died sequel, which will once again star Rollins as an immortal cannibal, is moving forward with original director Jason Krawczyk. The sequel will have Rollins’ character living as “a vagabond attempting to keep his supernatural compulsion in check.” He’ll also be facing off against “depraved sadists.” Sounds about right.

— Jamie Lee Curtis (@jamieleecurtis) February 16, 2018
Here’s a curious update from the new Halloween: Jamie Lee Curtis has apparently wrapped filming. Curtis confirmed as much both on twitter (see above) and on Instagram. What makes this slightly strange is the fact that the David Gordon Green sequel/reboot has only been filming for a few weeks. This hints that Curtis’ part in the film might be rather small, which is a bit disappointing. Of course, it could also indicate they front-loaded the shooting schedule to get all of Curtis’ scenes out of the way first to accommodate her scheduling. We shall see when the film hits theaters October 19, 2018.

A primal, psychedelic rage-scream of a movie, Mandy takes a while to get going, but once it does, it delivers exactly what fans are hoping for: Nicolas Cage fully unleashing the beast within and absolutely wrecking people with a giant axe and a chainsaw. It’s just a shame it doesn’t get to the blood-soaked revenge much sooner.
Mandy, the sophomore feature from Beyond the Black Rainbow director Panos Cosmatos, is another full-on plunge into a kaleidoscopic nightmare. It’s 1983, and Cage plays Red, a lumberjack who lives in a secluded cabin in the woods with his artist girlfriend Mandy (Andrea Riseborough), who spends her days reading fantasy paperbacks with covers that look like heavy metal albums. Mandy catches the eye of a crazed cult leader (Linus Roache), who conjures a group of motorcycle-riding demons to kidnap her.
The phrase “slow burn” isn’t strong enough to describe the glacial pacing of this film’s first half: it’s more like a simmering volcano waiting to accumulate enough pressure to erupt. Cosmatos crafts a unique cinematic atmosphere by playing with color saturations and drenching the film in swaths of bright red and green lights, so even gorehounds should be entertained by the stylistic touches while they wait for the shit to inevitably hit the fan.
But the style can’t fully counterbalance the movie’s indulgent length. It drags on with speech after speech from the villainous cult nut jobs, including an interminable seduction scene that ends with a drugged Mandy bitterly laughing at the cult leader’s attempt to woo her. Cage’s Red disappears for a significant stretch of the movie, and while some might argue that his absence is a trade off for establishing Mandy’s character so we feel Red’s pain more acutely later on, he’s so spellbinding when he’s on screen that it may not be a worthwhile trade.
Once the brutality begins, though, it’s a non-stop trek into a trippy hellscape as Red goes after the cult (and those demons!) to exact his revenge. From the moment Cage starts chugging a bottle of alcohol, alternating between screaming with anger and crying between swigs, he’s in Crazy Nic Cage Mode. And this may be the longest sustained period of Rage Cage we’ve ever seen. In the final 45 minutes, he forges his own axe, secures a crossbow from a hermit played by Predator’s Bill Duke, and begins systematically battling each of the people who took Mandy away from him. By the time he’s covered in blood and sampling the demons’ hallucinogenic drugs, you’ll feel nearly as delirious as his character.
While Cage gets his John Wick moment to hunt down evil opponents, the film’s gnarly gore that flows in the second half is probably more akin to the heightened excesses of Hobo with a Shotgun. It took Cosmatos seven years to get this movie made, and once you see it, you’ll understand why. Mandy is a totally uncompromising vision from a singular filmmaker – a pulsing, twisted descent into heavy metal vengeance that must be seen to be believed.

In this edition of Sequel Bits
John Wick: Chapter 3 is moving along nicely. Case in point: the film now has a working title. Omega Underground has confirmed the working title is Alpha Cop, which takes the place of previous working title, Spear. What does all this mean? Probably nothing! Working titles are almost never carried over to the final film, and are usually used as codes to keep parts of productions under-wraps. In other words, don’t expect the title to really be John Wick: Alpha Cop, because that would just be silly. John Wick: Chapter 3 is expected to open May 17, 2019.
Is Expendables 4 happening? Maybe! Sylvester Stallone sure seems to think so, as he took to Instagram to post a photo with the confusing caption, “Just when you thought it was safe to go outside…They’re coming back!” Yes, if there’s one thing The Expendables are known for, it’s ruining outside-time. The waterlogged action movie franchise teams Stallone up with a rotating roster of ’80s and ’90s action stars, and then proceeds to waste them by having them stand around while younger characters get to do all the work. Expendables 3, the most recent entry in the franchise, was one of the worst movies I have ever seen, but I’m sure someone out there is really excited about this prospective sequel.
Tom Cruise, that stuntman who also dabbles in acting, is currently hard at work filming the latest Mission: Impossible sequel. Even though Cruise suffered an injury early in shooting that resulted in a broken ankle, the eager-to-please leading man is already back at it. Some new set photos and footage show Cruise engaged in his favorite on-screen activity: running! Mission: Impossible 6, which stars Cruise, Rebecca Ferguson, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Michelle Monaghan, Alec Baldwin, Sean Harris, Henry Cavill, Vanessa Kirby, Sian Brooke and Angela Bassett, will open July 27, 2018.
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, the sequel to the Harry Potter spin-off Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, has wrapped filming and is due to make its big screen debut later this year. But first, here’s a new photo from the film. The image features Eddie Redmayne‘s Newt Scamander and Dan Fogler’s Jacob Kowalski on the streets of Paris. Where are they going? What are they up to? My guess: they’re going to get some baguettes. Some magic baguettes. Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald opens November 16, 2018.
Edge of Tomorrow, or Live Die Repeat, if you want to be a real jerk about it, was one of the most exciting, surprising sci-fi action movies in recent years. It let Tom Cruise play a coward instead of an unstoppable hero, and it turned Emily Blunt into a badass action star. I loved the film, but I have no idea how a sequel might work. None the less, a sequel is likely to happen, and director Doug Liman recently confirmed it might be his next movie. Speaking with Collider, Liman said that Edge of Tomorrow 2 “has the possibility of being my next film.” The director then gave an update on the script:
“We’re just working on the script… [We’re no longer working on scheduling issues], now it’s down to we have a window where we could go do it, and we’re frantically working on the script. It’s one of those movies that we’ll only go make if we love the script. It’s not one of those things where the studio is pushing us to make it and they don’t really care if it’s good or not. If the movie happens, it will be because Emily Blunt, Tom Cruise and myself are passionate about making it, which is a great place to be. She doesn’t need this movie, he doesn’t need this movie, and I don’t need it. We’re gonna make it if we really believe in it. We have story that the three of us love, so we’re working hard on the script.”
