Bethesda has confirmed that a locked vault in Fallout 76 will eventually open, but the admission came only after a player was briefly trapped in the locked area due to an in-game glitch.

The saga started this weekend when Reddit user McStaken posted pictures from inside the mysterious vault, which appears on the Fallout 76 map but can’t be entered through normal gameplay. McStaken said he “didn’t intend to end up” in the vault and entered accidentally while participating in another event.

That makes their situation different from previous players who have been able to force their way into Vault 63 and other locked in-game locations using a Power Armor glitch. Once inside, these players found a spacious, partially furnished vault, complete with overseer’s office, wrecked kitchen, and even a terminal reading “Nice Work Assholes” (a possible hidden message for potential hackers?).

A federal grand jury has formally indicted Joshua Adam Schulte, a former CIA employee, who prosecutors say was behind the Vault 7 trove of the agency’s hacking tools, which were sent to WikiLeaks.

Schulte, who had previously been prosecuted for possession of child pornography, has been expected to be indicted on the leaking charges for some time now. The New York-based engineer was arrested in August 2017.

According to the new superseding indictment, which was made public on Monday, Schulte faces numerous charges, including illegal gathering of national defense information, transmission of this information, obstruction of justice, among others.

Federal authorities have identified a suspect behind last year’s Vault 7 leak of Central Intelligence Agency hacking tools. The trove published to WikiLeaks included exploits and documents for infecting iPhones, Wi-Fi routers, and Cisco Switches, and it represented the biggest-known loss of classified information in CIA history.

According to articles posted by The Washington Post and The New York Times, the suspect is 29-year-old Joshua A. Schulte. FBI agents reportedly searched his Manhattan home a week after the WikiLeaks published its first Vault 7 dispatch in March 2017. A transcript of a court hearing this past January indicates that agents seized phones, computers, and unspecified “top secret government information.” According to the transcript, the evidence immediately made Schulte a target in the leak investigation.

For reasons that are still unknown, Schulte hasn’t been charged in the case despite being arrested more than a year ago. Instead, authorities charged him in August with possessing and transporting child pornography. He has pleaded not guilty in that case. His attorneys have also denied he had any involvement in the Vault 7 leak.

Canadian Damian Warner’s bid to defend his decathlon title at the Commonwealth Games took a nose dive Tuesday when he failed to clear a height in the pole vault.

Warner missed three attempts at 4.50 metres, failing to score any points in the event. His personal best is 4.90 metres.

The 28-year-old from London, Ont., who now makes his home in Calgary, fell from first to sixth place. Fellow Canadian Pierce LePage (6,889 points) took over with a narrow lead over Grenada’s Lindor Victor (6,864). Australian Cedric Dubler was third (6,749).

LePage, from Whitby, Ont., placed second with a personal best 4.90 metres behind Dubler’s 5.00.

Warner had been on a roll in the first six events.

Warner started competition on Day 2 Tuesday with the best time in the 110-metre hurdles, clocking 13.89 seconds. He then placed fourth in the discus with a throw of 46.55 metres.

Somewhere: The Vault Papers teases the possibility of an immense conspiracy unfolding — but the only way you can find out more is through texting. French developer Norseman Interactive has teamed up with publisher Playdius on its debut messaging-based narrative mobile game. It launches March 8 on iOS for $ 3, with an Android release to come at a later date.

The player must guide Cat, a journalist who’s been investigating a whistleblower’s claims. At the start of Somewhere, she texts you on accident and from then on, you must help her make decisions to stay alive when people begin pursuing her. Depending on your choices, the game has six different endings to unlock.

The story progresses in real-time, much like other mobile games that have mimicked text conversations such as The Pixel Hunt’s Bury Me, My Love, which details the struggles of Syrian refugees escaping to Europe, and Three Minute Games’s astronaut thriller Lifeline. However, Norseman Interactive has added another mechanic to the mix: You’ll also have to open up Google Maps to help Cat at certain points in the game.

Mobile texting games evoke a certain sense of true immersion. The games’ user interfaces often imitate real messaging apps, which can make the stories feel even more intense. Somewhere’s inclusion of Google Maps adds yet another parallel to the way folks commonly use their phones. It also incorporates some elements from alternate reality games (ARGs) as players will occasionally have to search for clues on the internet to solve puzzles.
