It came as hosts Dan Walker and Louise Minchin were chatting with BBC Breakfast sport correspondent Sally Nugent.

Dan began to talk about a park he had been in over the Bank Holiday weekend that had been strewn with litter.

The BBC presenter said: “Absolutely covered in litter. Barbecues, drinks, all over the place! When there’s a bin about 15 metres behind where I took the picture.”

“Even if there’s not a bin…” Louise stated.

Dan continued: “Just take it away with you!”

Sally then chimed in: “I don’t understand how people think that’s okay.”

While Louise added: “It reminds me because I live near a river and I know if I go for a run down there today I might as well just take a bin bag with me because it will be absolutely littered.”

“At what point do you think it’s okay to leave it and walk away and allow someone else to go and pick it up? Who teaches you that?” Dan questioned.

Sally observed: “I feel a campaign coming on.”

“It’s just not okay. It’s just being nice to other people, isn’t it? It’s selfish just to leave it there. I don’t get it,” Dan responded.

Those watching at home were quick to take to Twitter and agree with Dan.

“@BBCBreakfast absolutely agree with Dan about litter. You should take it away with you. I just don’t understand what makes someone think it is ok to litter,” one wrote.

Another added: “@mrdanwalker @BBCBreakfast totally agree with your views on litter dropping. Loved your rant. I don’t know what we do with these lazy imbeciles. #pickupyourlitter.”

“@BBCBreakfast well done Dan for being so passionate about littering. Our community group do regular litter picks. Our local park is horrendous after this weekend! People also clear their cars by the roadside before they leave places! We need some action on social responsibility!” a third shared.

A fourth tweeted: “@BBCBreakfast Regarding litter. You are right Dan people should be putting rubbish in the bin.”

Later in the programme, Dan noted how a few stories on the programme today revolved around the subject of litter.

Louise then thanked those at home for sending in photos of rubbish as she said the problem really needed solving.

Dan then looked into the camera and exclaimed: “Just stop being selfish and pick it up!”

“Are you shouting?” Louise asked as she turned to her co-host.

“It really annoys me,” he told her.

BBC Breakfast airs weekdays at 6am on BBC One.

'F*** your grandmothers': French winger Ribery unleashes social media rant over $1K steak backlash https://briefnews.eu/f-your-grandmothers-french-winger-ribery-unleashes-social-media-rant-over-1k-steak-backlash/ https://briefnews.eu/f-your-grandmothers-french-winger-ribery-unleashes-social-media-rant-over-1k-steak-backlash/#respond Sat, 05 Jan 2019 13:48:22 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/f-your-grandmothers-french-winger-ribery-unleashes-social-media-rant-over-1k-steak-backlash/

Bayern Munich’s Franck Ribery has hit out at Twitter critics who castigated him after being photographed eating a $ 1,200 gold-covered steak while on holiday in Dubai, telling them that he “owes them nothing.”

Ribery, who has long had a tetchy relationship with the media, ate the gold-covered Tomahawk steak presented to him by Nusr-et restaurant owner Nusret Gokc, better known as ‘Salt Bae’ for the 24-karat manner in which he seasons his meat.

The meal costs a pricely £1,000 ($ 1,200) and after posting images to social media, Ribery received a backlash for his extravagance – prompting him to release a somewhat unconventional New Year’s message via his social channels.

“For 2019, let’s dot the i’s and cross the t’s…,” he wrote via translation. “Let’s start with the jealous, the haters, those only born because a condom had a hole in: f*** your mothers, your grandmothers and even your family tree. I owe you nothing.

“My success is, above all, thanks to God, me, and my loved ones who believed in me. For the others, you’re nothing but pebbles in my socks!”

Ribery, who turns 36 in April, is rumored to be coming to the end of his time in the German capital, with Bayern Munich boss Niko Kovac understood to be in the market for a replacement to the player who has spent more than a decade in the German’s side’s starting XI.

Chelsea youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi and Timo Werner of RB Leipzig are said to be chief on Kovac’s wishlist as he aims to infuse more youth into his squad.

Captain Marvel NEW trailer: Brie Larson unleashes her POWER ahead of Avengers 4 trailer https://briefnews.eu/captain-marvel-new-trailer-brie-larson-unleashes-her-power-ahead-of-avengers-4-trailer/ https://briefnews.eu/captain-marvel-new-trailer-brie-larson-unleashes-her-power-ahead-of-avengers-4-trailer/#respond Tue, 04 Dec 2018 09:46:59 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/captain-marvel-new-trailer-brie-larson-unleashes-her-power-ahead-of-avengers-4-trailer/

Two days ago Marvel Studios announced a second look at Captain , much to the surprise of fans. After all, the Avengers 4 trailer is still yet to arrive . Nevertheless, the second Captain Marvel trailer was a surprise treat and shows more of Brie Larson unleashing her cosmic power. But this isn’t your standard origin story, with her having already gained her abilities.

In fact, it now looks like Captain Marvel will see flashbacks to her superhero origin, one that involves the Skrulls.

Whatever the case, she’s struggling to remember the truth of it all.

And in the few action-packed scenes we’re shown, it’s clear Captain Marvel wields unbelievable power.

Just look at her destroy a spaceship mid-flight, while sporting her iconic helmet.

The film’s official synopsis reads: “Set in 1995, Captain Marvel follows Carol Danvers, a former U.S. Air Force fighter pilot, as she turns into one of the galaxy’s mightiest heroes and joins Starforce, an elite Kree military team, before returning home with new questions about her past and identity when the Earth is caught in the centre of an intergalactic conflict between two alien worlds.”

Fans will know Captain Marvel also stars in Avengers 4, having been teased in the end credits scene for Avengers Infinity War.

But the big question is how does she come into Avengers 4 when it’s set over 20 years later.

For one thing, she hasn’t changed, so perhaps some sort of time travel is involved?

Hopefully, the Avengers 4 trailer will shed some light on this mystery.

Captain Marvel is released in UK cinemas on March 8, 2019.

‘Sanctions are coming’: Trump’s Game of Thrones Iran threat unleashes internet wildfire https://briefnews.eu/sanctions-are-coming-trumps-game-of-thrones-iran-threat-unleashes-internet-wildfire/ https://briefnews.eu/sanctions-are-coming-trumps-game-of-thrones-iran-threat-unleashes-internet-wildfire/#respond Fri, 02 Nov 2018 18:26:49 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/sanctions-are-coming-trumps-game-of-thrones-iran-threat-unleashes-internet-wildfire/

US President Donald Trump’s decision to use a Game of Thrones themed picture to threaten Iran with sanctions has set off social media like a band of wildlings attacking a freefolk village.

On Friday Trump tweeted an image of himself purposefully striding forward along with the words “Sanctions are coming. November 5” written in the iconic Game of Thrones style across his chest.

Unsurprisingly the internet jumped on the cinematic warning like a army of wights ripping apart human flesh. The speed and creativity of many of the photoshop efforts was something to behold.

Predictably, many took it as an opportunity to blast Trump, including photoshopping Robert Mueller into Game of Thrones scenes and alluding to the special counsel investigation.

The tweet even prompted a response from the makers of the television series, with HBO stating that it would prefer if the Commander-in-Chief refrained from using their trademark.

“We were not aware of this messaging and would prefer our trademark not be misappropriated for political purposes,” HBO said in a statement to CNBC.

Child’s Hitler Halloween costume unleashes storm of controversy (PHOTO) https://briefnews.eu/childs-hitler-halloween-costume-unleashes-storm-of-controversy-photo/ https://briefnews.eu/childs-hitler-halloween-costume-unleashes-storm-of-controversy-photo/#respond Sat, 27 Oct 2018 14:11:25 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/childs-hitler-halloween-costume-unleashes-storm-of-controversy-photo/

A Kentucky father has been barracked into an apology after his Nazi themed halloween family photo unleashed a barrage of criticism on social media.

After initially taking a belligerent stance Kentucky man Brant Goldbach now says that he regrets dressing his five-year-old son as Adolf Hitler for the family photo, in which he was dressed as a Nazi soldier.

Goldbach posted photos of the Halloween costumes during a local trick or treat event on Thursday. He initially attempted to justify the costumes by saying that he and his son love dressing as “historical figures” and he condemned those who approached and threatened him and his son during the party.

“Anyone who knows us knows that we love history, and often dress the part of historical figures,” he wrote in the now deleted post.

Tonight as we walked we saw people dressed as murderers, devils, serial killers, blood and gore of all sorts. Nobody batted an eye. But my little (son) and I, dress as historical figures, and it merits people not only making snide remarks, but approaching us and threatening my little 5-year-old boy.

Unsurprisingly people didn’t take kindly to the Goldbach’s costume choice and countless people took to social media to berate the father.

“This poor guy dressed himself and his kids as historical figures for halloween and got a load abuse. unbelievable, the costumes can’t be that ba…. okay never mind,” Twitter user Dan Hett joked.

Following the backlash the jewelry store owner later apologized for his actions and said he didn’t realize the costume would “stir so much controversy.” He admitted he hadn’t thought the costume through and conceded it was in “bad taste.”

“I think it was in bad taste for me to let my child to wear that, probably for me to wear that. It didn’t occur to me. I thought it was a bad decision on my part,” said Goldbach to the TriStateHomepage.com.

‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’ Teaser Unleashes New Footage; New Trailer Next Week https://briefnews.eu/jurassic-world-fallen-kingdom-teaser-unleashes-new-footage-new-trailer-next-week/ https://briefnews.eu/jurassic-world-fallen-kingdom-teaser-unleashes-new-footage-new-trailer-next-week/#respond Sat, 14 Apr 2018 11:38:08 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/jurassic-world-fallen-kingdom-teaser-unleashes-new-footage-new-trailer-next-week/ jurassic world fallen kingdom teaser

Hold onto your butts, a new Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom teaser just landed, and it’s very cool. There’s a wealth of new footage here, and it looks fantastic. The footage teases a full trailer which will roar online next week. Watch the teaser below.

You know what, I think Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom might turn out pretty well! I know Jurassic World has plenty of detractors, and I agree that the film can’t hold a candle to Steven Spielberg‘s original film. But the thing is, no sequel will ever be able to hold a candle to Spielberg’s film. Hell, even when Spielberg made a Jurassic sequel himself, it failed to live up to the original. That said, if you’re able to sit back and accept the Jurassic World flicks as big, dumb, fun monster movies, you might be in for a treat. A new Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom teaser just arrived to advertise a full trailer, and the new footage on display looks great. See for yourself.

Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom Teaser

The highlight of this footage is the shot of the Mosasaurus lurking in a huge wave, about to totally wreck the good vibes of some chill surfers. It’s worth noting that this image looks stolen from some early concept art for The Meg. But this shot didn’t pop up in The Meg trailer, so I suppose The Meg‘s loss is Jurassic World‘s gain.

The rest of the trailer heavily plays up the “monster movie” aspect of the film, with one fang-filled dino after another stalking the film’s heroes. There’s a lot of rain, a lot of darkness, and a lot of danger. Also: there’s a lot of Jeff Goldblum narrating, which is never a bad thing. At one point, Goldblum says, “Welcome to Jurassic World!” as the camera zooms in on his face. It’s corny as hell, but I have to admit I kind of love it.

The full Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom will stomp online on April 18, bringing even more footage.

Jurassic World: fallen Kingdom opens on June 22, 2018.

It’s been four years since theme park and luxury resort Jurassic World was destroyed by dinosaurs out of containment. Isla Nublar now sits abandoned by humans while the surviving dinosaurs fend for themselves in the jungles. When the island’s dormant volcano begins roaring to life, Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) mount a campaign to rescue the remaining dinosaurs from this extinction-level event. Owen is driven to find Blue, his lead raptor who’s still missing in the wild, and Claire has grown a respect for these creatures she now makes her mission. Arriving on the unstable island as lava begins raining down, their expedition uncovers a conspiracy that could return our entire planet to a perilous order not seen since prehistoric times.

  • Former FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe wrote about his firing in an emotional opinion column in The Washington Post on Friday.
  • “Not in my worst nightmares did I ever dream my FBI career would end this way,” he said.
  • McCabe rejected one of the main reasons for his dismissal from the bureau — a charge that he was not honest about his handling of disclosures to the media, an accusation that Attorney General Jeff Sessions described as a “lack of candor.”
  • McCabe ended the column with an inspirational message for current members of the federal law-enforcement community. “The country needs you,” he said.

Former FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe wrote about his firing in an emotional opinion column in the Thw Washington Post on Friday, one week after Attorney General Jeff Sessions dismissed him from the agency just hours before he was set to retire with a lifetime pension.

“Not in my worst nightmares did I ever dream my FBI career would end this way,” McCabe wrote.

Kate Garraway gobsmacked as Iain Lee unleashes rant: 'I don't know if we can say that' https://briefnews.eu/kate-garraway-gobsmacked-as-iain-lee-unleashes-rant-i-dont-know-if-we-can-say-that/ https://briefnews.eu/kate-garraway-gobsmacked-as-iain-lee-unleashes-rant-i-dont-know-if-we-can-say-that/#respond Fri, 16 Mar 2018 08:12:58 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/kate-garraway-gobsmacked-as-iain-lee-unleashes-rant-i-dont-know-if-we-can-say-that/

Iain, 44, delivered today’s Entertainment report in place of Good Morning Britain regular, Richard Arnold.

After unveiling Elton John’s new star-studded album, he moved on to discuss Dawn French’s dating advice.

The Vicar of Dibley star, 60, has told fans they should ditch “underwear that’s going to impress” in favour of Bridget Jones style “big pants”.

Iain seemed to agree with her, and unleashed another rant on the matter.

He told Kate and co-host Charlotte Hawkins: “What is this fashion about bikinis where they go right up?

“Hungry bums!” he laughed, as he discussed the thong-style of pant.

Kate, 50, and Charlotte, 42, gasped at the hilarious quip and instantly started to giggle.

Iain added: “I don’t know if we can say that on breakfast TV.”

The latest comes after yesterday’s appearance on Good Morning Britain which left Susanna Reid stunned following a Jim Davidson snub.

Iain paid tribute to the late Jim Bowen, who died earlier in the week aged 80.

However, as he read out various tweets in honour of the Bullseye host, it seemed he didn’t want to read out one from Jim.

Iain said: “Paddy McGuinness tweeted, and Jim Davidson tweeted – but I’m not interested in him.”

Susanna asked: “Why not? He’s one of those comedy legends.”

Iain retorted: “Let’s not.

“Let’s have this debate elsewhere.”

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV from 6am.

‘Deep Blue Sea 2’ Trailer Unleashes Remote Control Sharks https://briefnews.eu/deep-blue-sea-2-trailer-unleashes-remote-control-sharks/ https://briefnews.eu/deep-blue-sea-2-trailer-unleashes-remote-control-sharks/#respond Tue, 30 Jan 2018 04:05:56 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/deep-blue-sea-2-trailer-unleashes-remote-control-sharks/ deep blue sea 2 trailer

Remember Deep Blue Sea? The 1999 movie starring Samuel L. Jackson and some super-smart sharks? Well, there is now a Deep Blue Sea 2, with even more super-smart shark action to sink your jaws into, courtesy of Syfy. If you think this is a joke, check out the Deep Blue Sea 2 trailer below.

In 1999, the film Deep Blue Sea introduced us to the immortal words, “my hat is like a shark’s fin.” Now, almost 20 years later, here comes Deep Blue Sea 2, the highly-anticipated follow-up film that asks the question, “What if sharks could swim backwards?” I don’t think any of us expected this, but here we are. The Deep Blue Sea 2 trailer must be seen to be believed.

Deep Blue Sea 2 trailer

I could be wrong, but I’m almost positive there’s a scene in this trailer where some guy controls a school of sharks with a remote control. That’s extremely my shit, so I’ll be seeing this. Here’s the Deep Blue Sea 2 synopsis:

In Deep Blue Sea 2, shark conservationist Dr. Misty Calhoun (Danielle Savre) is invited to consult on a new, top secret project run by pharmaceutical billionaire Carl Durant (Michael Beach). When science meddles with the time-tested process of nature and nurture, the outcome can be deadly.

The original Deep Blue Sea, directed by Cliffhanger filmmaker Renny Harlin, was surprisingly fun, in a dumb sort of way. Part of what made it so entertaining was how surprising it all was. For instance (warning: spoilers for a 19-year-old movie), while Samuel L. Jackson was featured prominently in all the advertising of the film, his character meets a shark-based demise rather early in the film, right as he’s about to give a big, rousing speech. I’m actually somewhat surprised it took so much time to drop a Deep Blue Sea sequel into the direct-to-VOD waters; the popularity of the seemingly endless Sharknado series, as well as 2016’s The Shallows, proves that the sharksploitation sub-genre has never gone out of style.

Will Deep Blue Sea 2 be as entertaining as the original film? I’m going to go out on a limb and say, probably not! Still, the overall concept – meddlesome scientists genetically altering sharks, with deadly results – is silly and solid enough to inspire plenty of shark-based mayhem. Also, at some point, someone’s hat may indeed be like a shark’s fin.

Deep Blue Sea 2 comes courtesy of director Darin Scott, who helmed the 1998 film Caught Up, and some TV movie called A Housekeeper’s Revenge, which I’m sure is just amazing.

Look for Deep Blue Sea 2 in July 2018.
