Speaking about the two women’s falling out with Entertainment Tonight, actress Chalke joked: “We need a season two because it ends on that cliffhanger.” She went on to say: “You see them go through so much and some big stuff and they get through it, so it’s got to be something big.” While Heigl said: “It totally cannot be that Tully sleeps with Johnny after they’re married. It can’t be that because I don’t think any friendship comes back from that. “If you read the book, it’s in the book what happens, so I feel like I’m giving it away but not giving it away.” Firefly Lane is streaming on Netflix now April 14, 2019, will see the world watching HBO and Sky Atlantic as the final season of Game of Thrones is due to start. Most details have mostly been kept under wraps and a full trailer has yet to even be released. However, a now-deleted cast list was posted to the official HBO website which includes some surprises. WARNING: This article contains spoilers for Game of Thrones season 7 While nothing has been officially confirmed, the now deleted cast list included Tobias Menzies who plays the captured Tully Lord. All of the major characters are due to star in the Game of Thrones season eight premiere. The major players who will definitely be making an appearance include Jon Snow (played by Kit Harington), Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) and Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage). Fans will also be excited to see the Stark sisters on screen together as Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams will be back as Sansa and Arya respectively. Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), and Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) are also set to feature. A surprising cast listing for the episode is Tobias Menzies who plays Edmure Tully. Edmure is the brother of the late Catelyn Stark (Michelle Fairley) who has been a prisoner in the Freys’ dungeons since the end of season three following his capture at the Red Wedding. He appeared in season six when the Lannisters used him as leverage to gain control of Riverrun but was locked up again after. The actor spoke to Digital Spy back in March 2018 about his character’s future. He said at the time: “The honest answer is, I have no idea. He’s obviously somewhere in a prison, he’s still around alive somewhere. They’re pretty stingy with their information and I’ve not heard anything from them.” He added: “I feel like they have so many stories to tie up, whether that’s a story they’ll want to go back to, I don’t know.” Also potentially making an appearance in episode one will be Lord Robin Arryn (Lino Facioli) who hasn’t been seen since season six and Carice Van Houten as Melisandre. The red priestess was last seen heading back to Volantis, so it will be interesting to see what she is up to now. Game of Thrones season 8 starts on HBO and Sky Atlantic on April 14

The Bleeding Edge: The latest from the Hunting Ground and Invisible War team of Kirby Dick and Amy Ziering leans a bit too hard on the tropes of the activist documentary, and some of the filmmaking is a little dodgy. But the story they’re telling and the information they’re imparting is vital enough to render those concerns secondary. Their focus this time is the medical device industry, and the alarming lack of regulation over it; there was no FDA control of devices until 1976, we’re told, and the loophole of “pre-market approval” – in which new devices can be grandfathered in if they’re similar enough to previous ones, no matter how safe those devices proved to be – is an exception that’s become the rule 98% of the time. The Bleeding Edge alternates that history with the stories of those who are suffering under the side effects of a handful of poorly tested devices, and their descriptions of their conditions are visceral, scary, and horrifying; The Bleeding Edge is hard to watch, and harder still to ignore.
Ex Machina: Annihilation screenwriter/director Alex Garland’s debut feature is the smashing story of a tech millionaire who becomes Dr. Frankenstein to a presumptive dream woman, and it’s the kind of movie they don’t really make anymore, except when they do: a science fiction movie (and one with robots and labs and computers and so on) that’s also a chatty discussion of provocative ideas, as well as a penetrating and complicated character study. Garland’s fiercely intelligent work challenges our notions of protagonists, identity, and identification — and, y’know, it’s got that dance scene too.

Mississippi Grind: Ben Mendelsohn and Ryan Reynolds turn in two of their best performances to date in this rich homage to busted-out gambler movies like California Split and The Gambler. Mendelsohn is a bad luck case who’s thousands in the hole, until he meets Reynolds’ smooth talker and finds him something of a good luck charm. They hit the road for a big game down South, picking up games and colorful characters along the way; the blues-heavy soundtrack is a winner, directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck (currently at work on Captain Marvel) invest every stop along the way with its own distinctive atmosphere, and the dynamic between the two leads oscillates smoothly between affection and exhaustion.

The Glass Castle: Short Term 12 director Destin Daniel Cretton and star Brie Larson reunite for this 2017 adaptation of Janette Walls’s memoir, mining (a bit more successfully) material similar to the previous year’s Captain Fantastic: it’s the story of a large, rambling family, led by an off-the-grid dreamer whose high ideals don’t always equal healthy parenting. The key difference is that Glass Castle doesn’t lionize its father figure; he’s wildly irresponsible and a hopeless alcoholic, and Cretton’s tight-fisted direction harrowingly dramatizes both the up/down whiplash of recovery and relapse, and the scary way domestic incidents can escalate in a blink. Woody Harrelson is dazzlingly good as the flawed patriarch, and Brie Larson navigates several tricky moments as the focal offspring. Glass Castle has its problems – the flashback material is far more compelling than the later narrative that’s framing it (aka the Fried Green Tomatoes Conundrum), and the metaphorical qualities of key scenes (and the title) are just right on the nose. It’s the kind of movie where you can hear the gears turning, but it’s so well-acted and sensitively mounted, you may not mind. (Also streaming on Hulu.)

The Seventh Seal / Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey: It’s delightful enough that Peter Hewitt’s uproarious (and underrated) follow-up to Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure is available on FilmStruck, a platform best known for black-and-white classics and the Criterion Collection. But the logic is sound: it’s paired, as one of their series of ongoing “Friday Night Double Features,” with Ingmar Bergman’s Seventh Seal, best remembered for the iconic images of the chess game with Death. Bogus Journey pays loving homage to that sequence, and one-ups it, with our heroes challenging Death to a round of Battleship.

Tully: The Young Adult team of star Charlize Theron, director Jason Reitman, and screenwriter Diablo Cody reteam for this tough yet funny comedy/drama, which captures the exhaustion and desperation of parenthood (and, more specifically, the immediate postpartum period) with a verisimilitude I’ve never seen onscreen. Theron plays a mother who’s just given birth to her third child; Mackenzie Davis is the “night nanny,” hired by a rich sibling (Mark Duplass), to come in and help her get some much-needed rest. “I’m just not used to people doing things for me,” she says, and you believe her; what happens next is unexpected, sometimes awkward, and often uproariously funny. It’s a poignant piece of work that taps into the inherent helplessness of raising children, while taking some genuine (and thrilling) narrative risks.

We’ve seen Charlize Theron play everything from a rough-looking serial killer to the commander of a tribe of post-apocalyptic warriors to a badass secret agent. Now we’re going to see her absolutely exhausted as a mother of three children just doing her best to get by.
Tully follows Charlize Theron as Marlo, a mother who barely makes it through each day, taking care of a newborn, doing laundry, cooking dinner, breast-pumping and more. Theron looks pretty worse for wear, but some help comes knocking on her door in the form of Mackenzie Davis.
Some real mothers out there might find it hard to accept Charlize Theron as a woman run ragged by her children since she’s the poster child for a Dior fragrance that literally paints her as a golden goddess, but let’s not forget that Theron is a single mother of two herself.
Even in this teaser trailer alone, Theron does a great job of pulling sympathy as she trudges through every minute of what must feel like the longest day ever every single day. Not helping matters is Ron Livingston, who is less than impressed that they’re having frozen pizza for dinner. Even though the trailer says this movie is about motherhood in 2018, this will surely resonate with plenty of parents in general out there, whether they’re mothers or fathers.
Thankfully, Theron is about to get a reprieve from our titular character, a night nanny named Tully (Davis), who has been summoned by Marlo’s brother (played by Mark Duplass).
Hopefully, this doesn’t take the predictable indie movie turn where Tully becomes the object of affection for Marlo’s husband, thereby creating problems in the relationship while also bringing out realizations about life for our main characters. Director Jason Reitman and writer Diablo Cody (the duo behind Juno and Young Adult) usually don’t stray into cliched areas for their collaborations, so it would be nice if they could avoid that trope.
A new comedy from Academy Award®-nominated director Jason Reitman (“Up in the Air”) and Academy Award®-winning screenwriter Diablo Cody (“Juno”). Marlo (Academy Award® winner Charlize Theron), a mother of three including a newborn, is gifted a night nanny by her brother (Mark Duplass). Hesitant to the extravagance at first, Marlo comes to form a unique bond with the thoughtful, surprising, and sometimes challenging young nanny named Tully (Mackenzie Davis).
Tully opens April 20, 2018.

The Young Adult team of star Charlize Theron, director Jason Reitman and writer Diablo Cody are together again for Tully. The comedy features Theron as a mother who forges a unique bond with her new nanny, played by Mackenzie Davis. A Tully trailer is expected to drop any day now, but in the meantime, new Tully first look images offer a glimpse of Reitman’s new film.
Charlize Theron, Jason Reitman and Diablo Cody are hoping to rekindle the magic of Young Adult with their new film Tully. The self-described “comedy about motherhood” features Theron as a mother who receives a surprise gift from her brother (Mark Duplass): a night nanny named Tully, played by Halt and Catch Fire and Black Mirror star Mackenzie Davis. Theron’s character is initially skeptical about having a nanny, but eventually the two women begin to form a unique bond. Entertainment Weekly has a Tully first look with two images from the film.
The first image, which has a surprisingly eerie look, courtesy of Eric Steelberg’s cinematography, has Davis’ character looking on as Theron holds (breast feeds?) her child. This movie is described as a comedy, but I can’t tell if they’re going for some sort of Hand that Rocks the Cradle-vibe here, or if this is just a deceptive image. Speaking with PEOPLE, Theron says, “Tully watches her newborn overnight so that Marlo can get some sleep, and she becomes a surprising source of therapy and friendship for Marlo and she shows her what life can be like outside the mom bubble. But Marlo starts to realize Tully is not all that she seems.”
That “Tully is not all that she seems” line certainly hints at more going on here than meets the eye.
The other image has Theron passed out while children lurk in the background. Again, I’m getting a strong secret-horror-movie vibe from these images, but that might just be my wishful thinking. I’m sure the trailer, which is expected to hit any day now, will clear things up.
On working with Reitman again, Theron says, “Working with him again felt like picking up on the last day of shooting Young Adult, just with a different film and character this time around…Our relationship has been so solid and consistent all these years. He’s not afraid to tell stories about real women with real flaws — things that are sometimes uncomfortable for people to acknowledge.”
Truth be told, Young Adult was possibly the last truly good film Reitman made. He followed it up with clunkers like Labor Day and Men, Women & Children. Hopefully reuniting with his Young Adult team will have him regain some of his filmmaking strength. What I’m most excited about here is the presence of Mackenzie Davis, a phenomenal actress who deserves to be in all the movies, all the time.
Tully opens April 20, 2018.

Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, the actor, who plays barman Sean Tully, admitted that although a huge amount of controversy has surrounded the soap since the plot was introduced, he thinks it is important for the show not to shy away from difficult content just because it might offend some people.
“I think that with any storyline, it has to come from telling a story’s point of view, there are stories that need to be told. Coronation Street is a slice of life, so that’s its purpose, it was always to be a slice of life.
“Like any storyline, as long as it’s being told because you want to tell an exciting, interesting, or thought-provoking storyline, then we will always continue to tell them,” he said.
The 41-year-old, who also spoke exclusively about how he wants his character to exit the Cobbles, also added that although the plot surrounding teenager Bethany (played by Lucy Fallon), who has been in a destructive relationship with older man Nathan (Chris Harper) and a victim of his sex ring, has caused so much upset with some viewers, it was justified.
“This is just one of those stories that has happened to resonate with some people, and some people think we shouldn’t be telling those stories and some people think we should.
“The point is, the game that we’re in is to push buttons, to make people sit up and take notice, and ultimately be immersed in the world that’s not actually real,” he continued.
The Manchester native also revealed that he only ever reads the scenes that Sean will be present in, saying that he believes he should only be aware of his own character’s perspective.
“I don’t read anything else other than the scenes Sean’s in, so if Audrey has had an argument with a customer across the road at the hair salon – I don’t want to read that beforehand – because the next time I see Audrey, I might play it as if I shouldn’t know that, so I only ever read the stuff that I’m in.”
Antony said that in approaching his role that way, he will often be surprised by developments on set.
“We are supposed to be happening in real time and I don’t want to know what other people are doing, so I literally watch it as a viewer and go, ‘oh I didn’t know that was happening!’,” the SSAFA ambassador laughed.
The actor has spent the month campaigning for the Armed Forces charity SSAFA and their Big Brew Up campaign, held this weekend.
Coronation Street next airs Monday at 7.30pm on ITV.
