It turns out Russian cosmonaut Sergey Prokopyev has grayed quite a bit following the drop in air pressure on board the ISS, his colleague has discovered, while giving the commander of the Soyuz MS-09 spacecraft a haircut.

In his latest enlightening video report from aboard the International Space Station, cosmonaut Oleg Artemyev has detailed the haircut process in near-zero gravity some 400 kilometers above Earth. Using his colleague Sergey Prokopyev as his subject, Artemyev explains that while a regular hair clipper can be used in space, it must be attached to a vacuum cleaner to ensure the safety of the crew and equipment.

While cutting the hair of the commander of the Soyuz MS-09, Artemyev noticed that his friend has greyed quite a bit since arriving at the ISS in June.

“When you arrived, you only had four grey hairs, now you have 47,” the barber notes, to which Artemyev jokingly replies that it happened “after the decompression.”

On August 30, a sudden drop in air pressure occurred on board the space station. The problem was caused by a tiny two-millimeter hole drilled in the hull of the Soyuz spacecraft attached to the space station. While notifying the command of the malfunction, the cosmonauts used Kapton tape to temporarily seal the air leak, and later sealed it with a sealant.

Russian cosmonauts will go on a spacewalk on November 15 to investigate the micro hole from the outside, as part of the ongoing investigation into whether the spacecraft was damaged on Earth or when already in space.

We’ve highlighted in-depth the all-new 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and new 5.3-liter V8 with Dynamic Fuel Management (DFM), which will be joined by a mostly carryover 4.3-liter V6, a 5.3-liter V8 with Active Fuel Management (AFM), a 6.2-liter V8 and a 3.0-liter turbocharged diesel inline-six. There are three transmissions: They are six-, eight- and 10-speed automatics. Plus, these various powertrain options will be spread across eight trim levels: Work Truck, Custom, Custom Trailboss, RST, LT, LT Trailboss, LTZ and High Country.

Not every engine and trim level are available together, so to help ease any confusion, we’ve broken down which engines go with which transmissions and fuel management systems, and which of those can be had on each trim. We’ll start with a chart showing the different trims and powertrains.

Following this chart, we should explain the engine and transmission pairings. A six-speed automatic comes with the V6 and the 5.3-liter V8 with AFM (the current cylinder deactivation system that can run on all or half the cylinders). For the turbocharged four-cylinder and the 5.3-liter V8 with DFM (it can run on any combination or number of cylinders), only the eight-speed automatic is available. The 6.2-liter V8 and turbodiesel get the 10-speed automatic. Of additional note, the eight- and 10-speed automatics also get a unique damper for reducing vibrations from the cylinder-deactivating gas engines, and the non-deactivating diesel.

The different trim levels feature different powertrain combinations, but most also have different styling. As such, we’ve also included images of each trim level below, in order to decide which you prefer. They are in order from lowest trim to highest.

This year’s Detroit Auto Show may have been big on trucks thanks to the reveal of the 2019 Ram 1500, 2019 Chevy Silverado and 2019 Ford Ranger, but the biggest surprise was arguably the return of the Ford Mustang Bullitt. Think of the Bullitt as a pumped-up Mustang GT with a touch of retro styling. Until now, all we’ve seen is the wonderful Highland Green color that matches the original Steve McQueen original, but thanks to some spy shots we have our first look at the car’s other color, Shadow Black.

Highland Green might be the most iconic color — especially parked next to the original movie car — but the black really shines with the chrome trim in the grille and around the windows. With so many cars using black exterior trim, a little brightness like this really stands out. Other than the black paint, there’s not much new. It has the same badgeless bodywork save for the Bullitt logo on the rear. This one is missing the Torq Thrust-style wheels, but expect them to make it over to the production car.

The Bullitt is far more than just an appearance package. The 5.0-liter V8 now makes 475 horsepower and the sole transmission is a 6-speed manual. It also comes with the Performance Package, which is a $ 4,000 option on the Mustang GT.

None of them are especially major, but they’re coming to three of Chevrolet’s passenger car models, the Malibu, Cruze and Spark. They all get mildly revised front and rear fascias, updated color schemes, and new options and packages. The amount of change varies from car to car, so we’ll start with what’s arguably the most significantly updated, the Malibu.

2019 Chevy Malibu

The big news for the Malibu lineup is the addition of an RS trim level. It serves a similar purpose to the recently added Traverse RS, and that of other sportier sedan variants such as the Honda Accord Sport and Volkswagen Passat R-Line. Basically, it’s an appearance package that comes with a black grille, black badge, unique 18-inch alloy wheels, and dual-outlet exhaust. Unlike a car such as the Passat GT, nothing has been done to the suspension or exhaust note.

Standard Malibus haven’t been ignored, though. They now get a larger 8-inch touchscreen as standard with the newest Chevrolet Infotainment 3, which comes with customizable user settings and a new appearance compared with the current MyLink system. The standard 1.5-liter turbocharged engine will now come with a CVT instead of a six-speed automatic.

2019 Chevy Cruze

The big Cruze news is something sad for enthusiasts: The manual transmission is going away for 2019. It won’t be available on hatch, sedan, gas or diesel engines. Instead, they’ll soldier on with their existing automatic transmissions. But at least the diesel engine will still be available alongside the gas engine in both sedan and hatchback configurations.

The Chevy Cruze is getting a new trim, too. It’s the LS trim specifically for the hatchback. It should make the hatchback a bit more affordable compared with the current lowest LT trim. That model starts at $ 22,195, and the current LS sedan starts at $ 19,400, so expect the LS hatch to sit somewhere in the middle.

Aside from those two big updates, there’s also standard automatic climate control and remote start for LT and Premier models, the addition of Chevrolet Infotainment 3 and a new interior color.

Last, and actually least in terms of changes and physical size, is the Chevy Spark. The miniscule hatchback just gets some updated front and rear fascias and a few new colors. It also now has optional low-speed automatic emergency braking.

All three of these updated models will be available later this year. We expect pricing details will become available closer to launch.
