The rapper accused Trump of not caring for his base, the American working class, by bringing the government into shutdown, that has already become the third-longest on the record and is forcing thousands of government workers to survive without paychecks for a third week in a row.

“Y’all honest, blue-collar, hard-working people and suffering. So if he don’t care about y’all, he really don’t give a f**k about us. So f**k him too, and f**k everybody down with Donald Trump. I said it,” the rapper said, before wrapping up his tirade with another F-bomb.

The comments’ section under the post immediately became an arena of fierce debate. While most commentators appeared to share the rapper’s viewpoint, some pointed out that he was nowhere to be seen when the shutdown happened under former President Barack Obama. Others cited achievements by the Trump administrations in his defense, while blaming Democrats for the shutdown.

“The government was shut down for 16 days in 2013 don’t be talking s*** until 16 days ended. I’m not a Democrat or Republican I just hate people who don’t know facts,” @daveruns4pizza wrote.

A round of talks led by Vice President Mike Pence has so far resulted in no breakthrough, with Trump saying on Sunday that “the shutdown could end tomorrow or go on a long time.” Trump, who said that he proposes a “steel barrier” rather than “a concrete wall,” said that he hopes for “some very serious talks” in the first half of the coming week.

Saturday’s Instagram tirade is far from Snoop Dogg’s first foray into politics. In November last year, the rapper, who is a well-known advocate for marijuana legalization, smoked a joint in front of the White House, documenting the whole stunt and uploading it on Instagram. In the video, Snoop is sitting on a bench, greeting fans and cursing Trump using fairly the same expletives.

A Trump clown has also starred in the rapper’s ‘Lavender’ music video, where he points a toy gun at him. The 2017 clip did not escape the US President’s attention, who called Snoop’s career “failing”.

The 47-year-old frequently spars with his fellow rapper and Trump supporter Kanye West. In October, he bad-mouthed Kanye, referring to him as “Uncle Tom. Ass n**ga.”

House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi had some choice words for the president following an argumentative exchange in the Oval Office in which she blamed him for an impending government shutdown.

“It’s like a manhood thing for him,” she said, referring to the president’s obsession with building a border wall. “As if manhood could ever be associated with him.” Pelosi unloaded on Trump, questioning whether he had even basic knowledge of how government spending works and suggesting the wall had become a point of personal pride, divorced from fiscal reality.

“It was so wild. It goes to show you: you get into a tinkle contest with a skunk, you get tinkle all over you,” she told Democratic members of the House Steering and Policy Committee, in a closed-door meeting after the White House chat.

Though the White House meeting, which also included Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer and an unusually taciturn Vice President Mike Pence, quickly degenerated into immature sniping, “I was trying to be the mom,” Pelosi said. She did try more than once to convince the men to wait until the cameras were off to argue, but was eventually sucked into the barb-flinging herself.

While none of the parties emerged a winner from the White House meeting, Pelosi framed it as a victory. “The fact is we did get him to say, to fully own that the shutdown was his,” she said. Trump had visibly bristled at the start of the meeting when she mentioned a “Trump shutdown” but, by its close, he boasted that he was “proud to shut down the government for border security” if the Democrats refused to pass the necessary funding before December 21.

“I will take the mantle,” he said. “I will be the one to shut it down, I’m not going to blame you for it.”

Schumer accused Trump of throwing a “temper tantrum” during the meeting in a bid to secure funding for his wall. “The president made it clear he wants a shutdown,” he told reporters afterwards.

Such an outcome could be catastrophic for Pelosi, who is hoping to regain her previous post as Speaker of the House in January despite stronger-than-usual opposition within her own party. Schumer and Pelosi did propose a $ 1.3 billion earmark for border security, but Trump would not settle for less than $ 5 billion, even though Pelosi maintained he did not have the votes required to pass such a measure in the House.

A daylight theft of a man’s tools was seemingly foiled when the would-be robber clumsily crashed into a tree trying to escape. The victim then extracted his own measure of revenge when he caught the thief.

Filmed by a bystander from the window of a house in Oldham, Greater Manchester, the footage reveals how the man who allegedly stole the items didn’t fancy his chances in a confrontation when the victim encountered him on the street.

According to the Manchester Evening News, the alleged thief was caught red-handed as he tried to pilfer work tools from another man’s van. However, the scheme didn’t go to plan as the eyewitness video shows. Instead of a haul of stolen goods, the robber ends up having to drive off with some considerable damage to his own vehicle.

In the two minute clip, filmed by Connor Tyrer, one man can be seen screaming expletives at the alleged thief as he holds an orange shovel.

The apparent burglar is then spotted trying to approach his damaged black VW Golf, which appears to have struck a tree and had its windows smashed.

Taking to social media, the eyewitness explained how the thief had come into some bad karma by smashing into a tree outside his home. His car was also seemingly partly smashed up by the angry victim.

“Guy’s just tried robbing someone’s work tools crashed outside mine,” he said. “[The victim] smashed the guys [sic] car up then got his stuff and got off. Well done lad,” he added.

Former double agent Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia were found slumped on a public bench in the English city of Salisbury in March. Britain says they were poisoned with a nerve agent administered by Russian intelligence officers.

The Cowboys decision to stand drew praise from the president, who characterized it as “big progress being made.”

“But while Dallas dropped to its knees as a team, they all stood up for our National Anthem,” Trump concluded. “Big progress being made-we all love our country!“

Steve Bannon shared some candid thoughts on a wide range of subjects in an interview with the progressive-leaning magazine, The American Prospect, published on Wednesday.

The interviews reveal Bannon’s thoughts on President Donald Trump’s US-China trade policy, his own views about the president’s rancorous feud last week with the leader of North Korea, the deadly Charlottesville rally, white nationalist groups, and his ongoing feuds inside the Trump administration.

The White House chief strategist also pitched what American Prospect writer Robert Kuttner described as a plan to “marginalize” his adversaries in the Trump administration.

Bannon talked of Trump’s plans to sign a measure that would open an investigation into intellectual property violations against American companies by Chinese firms. The law under which that measure was drafted, Section 301 of the US Trade Act of 1974, would allow Trump to place a tariff on another country without Congressional approval.

The plans to reshape US-China trade policies do not end there, Bannon indicated. He talked of shifting people within the Trump administration to achieve expansive goals on that front.

“I’m changing out people at East Asian Defense; I’m getting hawks in,” Bannon said. “I’m getting Susan Thornton [acting head of East Asian and Pacific Affairs] out at State.”

Bannon continued: “That’s a fight I fight every day here,” he said. “We’re still fighting.”

Kuttner openly questioned why Bannon, a former executive of the far-right news outlet Breitbart, called him — a reporter for a progressive-leaning publication — to sound off about some of his biggest plans for the White House’s economic agenda.

Here’s Kuttner:

“Bannon explained that his strategy is to battle the trade doves inside the administration while building an outside coalition of trade hawks that includes left as well as right. Hence the phone call to me.”

Bannon said later that he was unaware the conversation was on-the-record.

Working amid calls for his firing

Bannon’s comments came after days of scorching fallout from Trump’s response to a deadly white nationalist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia. The president has been dragged by Republican and Democratic leaders, and abandoned by CEOs of some of the biggest American corporations after Trump wavered in his denunciations of some hate groups involved in the violence.

“Ethno-nationalism—it’s losers. It’s a fringe element,” Bannon said, apparently referring to demonstrators without describing any specific ethnicity, adding that “the media plays it up too much.”

“These guys are a collection of clowns,” Bannon said.

Some critics have pointed to Bannon, who they accused of influencing Trump’s reactions to the violence in Virginia. Although Bannon spoke with Trump several times last weekend, according to the news website Axios, he “has not meaningfully advised” Trump on his response to Charlottesville, the publication said.

Bannon’s immediate future in the White House has also been called into question in the aftermath of Charlottesville, with several lawmakers urging Trump to fire him. Trump said during a fiery news conference on Tuesday: “We’ll see about Mr. Bannon.”

We’re inundated with a constant stream of content from all angles these days, and the law of averages says that a majority of it is going to be crap. But sometimes I’ll see something so baffling, it makes me stop and think about the dozens of meetings that must have taken place before this thing reached audiences, and I’ll wonder how the hell an idea so terrible was ever given approval.

The latest example: the godawful marketing campaign for a new animated movie called Red Shoes and the 7 Dwarfs, which is so bad it’s drawn the ire of the movie’s star, Chloë Grace Moretz. Think about that. How bad does it have to be for the film’s star to put the marketing team on blast? Find out below.

Red Shoes and the 7 Dwarfs, which hails from a South Korean company called Locus, sounds like it has a positive message. Here’s the synopsis:

A normal girl born into extraordinary circumstances, she’s a princess who doesn’t fit into the celebrity world of princesses — or their dress size. She wants to stay true to herself, but Fairy Tale Island is all about looks, so it makes it hard not to want to be like the others. In her quest to find her lost father, she learns not only to accept herself, but celebrate who she is inside and out.

So far, so good. But take a look at a poster that was up outside the Cannes Film Festival last week:

Right off the bat, this ad is guilty of body shaming and flat-out saying that a larger Snow White is no longer beautiful. Which, come on guys, it’s 2017. You should know better by now. But things go from bad to worse when you watch the trailer:

Why would any company think it’s okay to feature two leering dwarfs who look like they’re seconds away from jerking off as Snow White takes her clothes off? And secondarily, why the hell would Snow White seductively remove items of clothing if she thinks she’s alone in her room? This is baffling on so many fronts.

As you can imagine, Moretz wasn’t thrilled to see this shit.

One of the film’s producers, Sujin Hwang, told Entertainment Weekly that the marketing campaign has been “terminated,” and offered an apology:

“Our film, a family comedy, carries a message designed to challenge social prejudices related to standards of physical beauty in society by emphasizing the importance of inner beauty. We appreciate and are grateful for the constructive criticism of those who brought this to our attention. We sincerely regret any embarrassment or dissatisfaction this mistaken advertising has caused to any of the individual artists or companies involved with the production or future distribution of our film, none of whom had any involvement with creating or approving the now discontinued advertising campaign.”

Moretz’s comments, this statement, and the official synopsis all make it seem as if the movie contains a positive message about appearances for young women, but if that’s true, this has to be one of the biggest cases of whiplash between a marketing campaign and the final product I can think of. Red Shoes and the 7 Dwarfs doesn’t have US distribution yet for obvious reasons.

Whilst 25-year-old Sanita Laviva performed an energetic routine, a battle was taking place among the judges as they jostled whether to buzz her off or not.

Clearly not enjoying the performance, Simon Cowell set about sabotaging everyone else’s enjoyment of the drag act.

Whilst the judges argued, David was particularly fond of Sanita and even ripped his buzzer off the desk so no one could press it for him.

The carnage left all judges shocked, but ever-the-professional, Sanita carried on.

The fiery dance act rubbed Simon up the wrong way after he asked where she was from; only to be greeted with a snapped response.

“I don’t care who you are but you ain’t finding out where I am living,” replied sassy Sanita.

The 57-year-old music mogul was left gobsmacked by her answer, simply remarking: “She is terrifying.”

It wasn’t the only controversy David was involved in though, as he found himself in a spat with a judge from the Guinness World Records.

The 45-year-old comedian was left stunned after Vicky from GWR snapped at him for urging her to hurry up contestant Ryan Tracey.

He also lambasted Prime Minister Theresa May’s Brexit strategy as “rigid” and “reckless,” adding that under a Labour government MPs would be given a veto over the final deal. If the agreed points were not supported by Parliament, Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn would return to Brussels to try again.

“The White Paper will have a strong emphasis on retaining the benefits of the single market and the customs union as Labour know that is vital to protecting jobs and the economy,” Starmer told a press conference on Tuesday.

“We have to get the best deal we can. We are talking about the tail end of 2018, we would have a vote, we would go back to the negotiating table. That is the position that we want to adopt on a meaningful vote.”

Although the party is firm on unilaterally guaranteeing the rights of EU citizens living in the UK, Starmer did highlight that the way businesses across Europe deal with Britain would have to change.

“We accept that unchanged single market membership is not a viable option, but we would want to leave the options on the table, to discuss with our European colleagues what the appetite is for change and revision and reform of some of the single market rules,” he told BBC Radio 4.

“I’m not pretending that’s going to be easy.”

Critics, however, noted that when it came to questions of immigration, Starmer only said “rules will have to change after we leave the EU.”

Starmer’s comments came after Remain campaigners drew up a ‘hit list’ of Brexiteers whose seats they plan to fill with EU friendly candidates. An estimated 20 constituencies have been marked as the territory of ‘hard Brexit’ supporters to be ousted on June 8.

The Labour MP for Vauxhall in South London, Kate Hoey, has been singled out for her joint Leave campaigning with then-UKIP leader Nigel Farage. A local campaign flyer by the Liberal Democrats shows Hoey and Farage’s faces merged, next to the words “Hoey Out!”

“We just can’t believe Labour has been dumb enough to re-select someone who makes Nigel Farage look like a cuddly pro-European,” a Lib Dem source told the Evening Standard.

“It’s game on in Vauxhall.”

Labour-supporting journalist and Vauxhall resident Paul Mason told BBC Newsnight last week he would not vote for his party on June 8 so as not to support Hoey.
