The Star Wars franchise loves repeating themes as storylines echo and mirror what has come before.

The Force Awakens was undeniably similar to A New Hope and now it seems Episode 9 will bring back one of the main themes of Episode 3.

JJ Abrams, though, is putting a fresh twist on the hunt for the hidden enemy working from within.

A new leak points the finger at a popular chracter with an already clear appetite for hatred and revenge. 

The report says: “Kylo Ren is suspicious of an individual in the First Order handing out information to the Resistance. Part of the Episode 9 storyline will have a cat and mouse element to it, similar to Revenge of the Sith where the Jedi were trying to find out who the Sith lord is – which turned out to be Palpatine.”

Both times the traitor is at the heart of those ruling the galaxy but this time it is a delicious twist since the bad guys are being betrayed.

Palpatine, of course, was hiding in plain sight and there is a strong belief that the same will apply here with a major Episode 7 and 8 villain actually feeding secrets and tactical information to the Resistance.

The report adds: “A plot leak back in May 2018 claimed that General Hux is the mole inside the First Order.”

But why would he betray the order he loves so much?

Hux is a fanatic dedicated to the aims and convictions that underpin the concept of the First Order as the only way to establish a stable galaxy. But, like any classic villain, he can only see his own aims and is blinded by his own hatred and envy of Kylo Ren.

Kylo has always been driven by his personal demons but Hux is utterly committed to the First Order and his devotion allows him to justify anything as a means to a glorious end.

Hux believes Kylo Ren is not a fit leader to replace the god-like Snoke. Plus he always had his eye on eventually being acknowledged as Snoke’s successor so he is also trying to undermine and bring down the new Supreme Leader so that he can step in and take control himself.

Star Wars 9 started filming last month and the leaks and reports have been constant and often consistent, but they should all be taken with a large pinch of salt.

The latest leak cretainly makes perfect sense, but whatever happens, it is highly unlikely things will end well betwen Kylo and Hux.

The 51-year-old celebrity chef spoke out about the backlash following the Great British Bake Off‘s move from BBC to Channel 4, admitting that the criticism “smarted”.

“What was I a traitor to?” he asked. “I’d just recorded a car show with the BBC, so I hadn’t left the BBC. I hadn’t left Bake Off.

“Normally as a traitor you turn your back on something,” he insisted, telling Radio Times: “I didn’t turn my back on anything.”

However, Paul also confessed that he had plans of his own amid the controversial Bake Off shake-up, saying: “Everyone’s got an agenda, you can’t change that.”

As excitement builds for the show’s highly-anticipated return next week, new hosts Noel Fielding, 44, and Sandi Toksvig, 59, recently revealed what they really think about former presenters Mel Giedroyc, 49, and Sue Perkins, 47.

Fan favourites Mel and Sue will feature in an unusual way in the first episode of the new series as Noel and Sandi phone them for directions whilst riding in a hot air balloon.

Noel said that they felt obliged to refer to the duo, telling media including Express.co.uk: “We couldn’t not mention it because it would be like a huge elephant in the room.

“Everyone knows it has moved on and we are friends with Mel and Sue,” he added. “Mel was lovely. She said she felt like she should hand me a baton like a baguette.”

He went on to say that the comedy industry is “very supportive”, insisting that there isn’t any rivalry between the old guard and the new line-up.

Sandi agreed, explaining: “It’s a funny thing. When you’re friends with someone you don’t spend all your time talking about work, so probably if we got together we’d talk about other things.

“But it’s quite a lovely business,” she continued. “One of the things I spoke about with Noel is that the comedian world is quite small and actually there’s a lot of love and there’s not much rivalry.”

Traitor Nightly has you juggling a few different tasks. You play as an interviewer questioning the Grandmaster of a game called ‘Traitor’, playing the game with them as you try to get truthful answers. However, depending on how well you do, you may find your subject altering their answers, forcing you to find a balance between playing well and finding out your interviewee’s story.

Traitor Nightly takes you to the Pharostine Empire, a fictional place which the developer describes as “Byzantine Empire crossed with the Ottoman Empire and 1920s America.” In this world, you’re playing a game with your subject, but as your do, you’ll find that the Grandmaster’s life is on the line should they lose. This can make talking to someone kind of difficult, as an interview subject who is dying because of you can be loath to give honest answers. You know how these things go.

Tasking players with deciding if story is more important than winning, or if the truth is meaningless if they have to lose for it, it challenges the player to not try their best, or treat games as a back-and-forth rather than something you purely play to win. It explores some of the social aspects of games, as well as the importance of winning and losing, all while in a rich empire with some sharp conversation and a board game that’s quite fun to play.

The FBI and CIA are investigating hundreds of possible suspects in one of the biggest security breaches in CIA history, CBS News reports. The WikiLeaks “Vault 7” release, which contained thousands of top-secret documents, revealed the agency’s hacking tools.

A joint investigation and manhunt by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Central Intelligence Agency into the source of WikiLeaks’ “Vault 7” dump last month has begun, CBS News justice and homeland security correspondent Jeff Pegues reported Wednesday evening.

The release last month brought to light the CIA’s digital arsenal for hacking into computer systems and smart devices such as phones and televisions. Thousands of top-secret classified files that had previously been guarded within a “highly secure section of the intelligence agency,” as CBS News sources described it, were made available to the world for free by WikiLeaks.

The source of the leak, the FBI and CIA reportedly believe, was one of the hundreds of agents or contractors who had physical access to the material, not an outside hacker. That suspicion seems to align with what WikiLeaks said in their press release announcing the Vault 7 release on March 7.

“The archive appears to have been circulated among former US government hackers and contractors in an unauthorized manner, one of whom has provided WikiLeaks with portions of the archive,” the pro-transparency group said.

Unnamed US intelligence sources told Reuters within a day of the release that the CIA had been anticipating it since near the end of 2016.

The FBI and CIA coordinated reviews of the incident and a criminal investigation was opened within a day of the release, the Washington Post reported at the time, based on an unnamed former intelligence official who said to expect “another major mole hunt.”

Former CIA Deputy Director Mike Morell told CBS News less than a week after the release that the leak “has to be an inside job,” as the data was on a CIA top secret network “not connected to any other network.”

Former NSA contractor and whistleblower Ed Snowden tweeted hours after the release that “only a cleared insider” could be responsible for the leak.

Last week, in his first public comments in his new position, CIA director Mike Pompeo blasted WikiLeaks as “a non-state hostile intelligence service often abetted by state actors like Russia” and called founder Julian Assange a “demon.”
