UPDATE ONE Epic Games has now confirmed that the Fortnite 7.40 update has been delayed and will not be releasing at the previously mentioned 9am, GMT, time.

More is expected to be announced in the coming hours.

ORIGINAL: Fortnite patch 7.40 is being released tomorrow, February 13, and will include some changes to the stats system.

Epic Games has announced that due to issues with the current system, the dev team are hoping to make changes.

According to a recent post, Fortnite stats tracker doesn’t work across all platforms, making it hard to provide the best data.

This has led to Epic Games making changes, starting with the release of the next Fortnite update.

Here’s more from the Fortnite team, who revealed in a new statement: “It’s been a while since we’ve talked about stats so let’s dive right in. In the v7.40 update, we’ll be turning on Stats v2.

“The current stats system database couldn’t scale properly for all platforms so we’re going to upgrade the existing one to include a variety of info and track player progress better over time.

“Let us know what you think of Stats v2 when it releases in the v7.40 update!”

So what exactly will be changing with Fortnite patch 7.40?

According to Epic Games, the new Stats Tracker system will do a better job with accessibility.

They also want to make it possible for all platforms to have access to in-game stats.

Here’s the rundown of the main changes coming with Stats V2:

  • The ability to track all of your play in one place and view it across all platforms.
  • This includes the ability for mobile and Switch players to view their stats in-game.
  • Breaking up stats by each individual Limited Time Mode.

As mentioned above, these changes are coming as part of Fortnite update 7.40.

Epic Games has announced this new update will be arriving tomorrow and will require server downtime.

So the new changes won’t be available until after 9am, GMT.

As with all new changes, there’s a chance that some parts of the new system will not work properly out the gates.

So there’s the chance of few more updates being needed to get everything right with Fortnite Stats.

Fans can expect more accessibility to stats on Fortnite Mobile becoming a major priority moving forward, including whatever other features Epic Games deems essential for the platform.

“We’re making a major shift internally to focus more on mobile issues,” Epic Games recently confirmed.

“We launched mobile controller support this past week in the v7.30 update and it has been awesome seeing all the folks sharing how they play, as well as feedback on the feel.

“You can expect additional controller feel improvements over the next few updates as we shift additional development efforts to tackling the key issues you’re experiencing.”

Follow him here https://briefnews.eu/santa-tracker-live-where-in-the-world-is-father-christmas-right-now-follow-him-here/ https://briefnews.eu/santa-tracker-live-where-in-the-world-is-father-christmas-right-now-follow-him-here/#respond Tue, 25 Dec 2018 18:51:00 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/santa-tracker-live-where-in-the-world-is-father-christmas-right-now-follow-him-here/

Christmas is now famously associated with Santa Claus who arrives every year to deliver presents to people all over the world. Boys and girls in the UK will already have had their presents delivered (if they’ve been good all year) but Father Christmas is still in his sleigh heading to countries who are ahead of the UK in different time zones. The NORAD (North American Aerospace Defence Command) Santa Tracker has been following Father Christmas for over 60 years and allows people to see where the red-suited man is throughout Christmas Eve and into Christmas Day.

Tuesday 25 December, 9:58pm

Santa is now winging his way across the Pacific Ocean to Honolulu, Hawaii, US. He’s delivered well over six million presents so far.

Monday 24 December, 4:39pm

Father Christmas is now en route to Kazakhstan, and has delivered close to two million gifts so far. He has a busy night ahead!

Monday 24 December, 3.05pm

Santa has visited Wuhan, China and is now off to Xi’an, China. He has dropped off over 1,200,000,000 presents.

Monday 24 December, 2.35pm

The Great Wall of China was Santa’s last stop-off and now he’s shooting across the sky in his sleigh to Irkutsk Oblast, Russia.

Monday 24 December, 2.12pm

Santa has left Kyoto, Japan and will head next to Yokohama, Japan having delivered well over 970,000,000 gifts.

Monday 24 December, 1.50pm

The tubby toymaker has been sighted in Darwin, Australia and is now en route to Dili, East Timor. He has delivered over 859,000,000 presents.

Monday 24 December, 1.15pm

Father Christmas is heading to Kimbe, Papua New Guinea after a stop off at Yigo, Guam.

Monday 24 December, 12.50pm

Santa Claus was last seen in Kurilsk, Kuril Islands and is heading to Yakutsk, Russia. He has delivered over 559,000,000 presents.

Monday 24 December, 12.20pm

Santa is now on the move. He was last seen in Antarctica and is now heading to Suva, Fiji.

He has delivered well over 409,000,000 presents.

The popular tool uses technologically-advanced satellites to track Santa Claus as he and his reindeers gallop through the skies.

The tradition of NORAD tracking Father Christmas started decades ago after a local shop printed an advert that provided a number that could be used to reach Santa.

However, the number was misprinted and was actually the line for NORAD’s (previously CONAD, Continental Air Defense Command) commander-in-chief’s operation hotline.

The NORAD Santa Tracker is immediately distinguishable for its 3D model of Father Christmas and his reindeer that move in real-time.

The software tells users where Santa was last seen in addition to where he is heading next.

Moreover, the software also has a tally for how many gifts Father Christmas has given out.

Last year Santa’s first stop-off was Papua New Guinea where he delivered an astounding 714,813,526 gifts.

He also visited Sydney and Canberra, Australia; Babeldoab, Palau; Japan; South Korea, Brunei; Macau; Malaysia and India, as well as many more.

Father Christmas has yet to leave the North Pole this year and is most likely checking his list twice to see if people have been naughty or nice before he heads out later today with his sack full of goodies.

Santa’s progress can be followed on a computer, smartphone or tablet using NORAD.

Google has also created an app that will follow the progress of Santa and his sleigh throughout the day and night.

Google Santa Tracker is available to download for free on the Google Play Store but can also be used on desktops via the Google Santa Tracker website.

The application is the perfect way to track the progression of Father Christmas on the go.

The software presents users with a cartoon representation of Santa and will mark the location of places he has already visited.

At the bottom of the screen the app states where Father Christmas currently is in addition to how many gifts he has already delivered.

The app also features a number of games that are perfect for making the wait to Christmas fly by.

Additionally, Google Santa Tracker allows users to make their own elf and decorate them with a troop of accessories.

Why Use Productivity Tracker Apps? 11 Ways They Can Change Your Life https://briefnews.eu/why-use-productivity-tracker-apps-11-ways-they-can-change-your-life/ https://briefnews.eu/why-use-productivity-tracker-apps-11-ways-they-can-change-your-life/#respond Sat, 29 Sep 2018 19:55:53 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/why-use-productivity-tracker-apps-11-ways-they-can-change-your-life/ The life of a modern man is very busy; it is subject to the tough schedule with many things to do, meetings and events to attend.

At one time, about 50 years ago, a simple paper diary became literally a revolution in the work organization and affairs planning. Nowadays, in the modern world of information and gadgets, the paper diary became an anachronism – digital solutions have come into play. It is much more convenient to use programs for planning and productivity tracking.

These are usually different digital calendars, programs task scheduling analysis, to-do lists, etc. All these digital tools assist a lot in organizing business routine and reach a high-level productivity. So what is the practical benefit of productivity tracker apps and how can they change your life? Let us get all this straightened out.

1. Track Where You Spend Time Mostly

Whatever program you decide to use, it allows you to set/ track tasks for yourself and your colleagues, assign responsible ones, co-executors, or simply specify observers.

Performance tracking applications can provide a report on where you or your team are spending time. Despite the fact that there is nothing wrong with viewing such reports, for someone it seems very difficult and will take a few hours to dive into the thematic sections analysis.

If you are working with any tracking activity, then using any application, you, at least, realize how much time you spend on it.

2. Plan Your Work

Using performance tracking software raises an understanding of how much time is spent in general for performing various tasks. Thus, you can manage your workload easily.

Knowing how much time is needed for completing a particular type of tasks, you can optimize the work to be done during the day and make sure your “to-do” list is well managed. Therefore, it easies your work planning and task management. As a result, you feel less tired at the end of the day and do your work more effectively.

3. Boost Your Productivity

Think about how you use your time, time tracking applications can boost your productivity.

When using the application, you derive a regularity of being more efficient than a day before. There is no necessity of you always succeeding in everything, but knowing that there is some application that monitors what you do makes you optimize your work.

So every time, you go to Facebook, you log out and think how it would affect your productivity.

4. Calculate Your Wage

If you have an hourly rate, time tracking software makes billing much easier. Instead of approximately estimating how long it will take to complete a task, using the application you will know exactly how many hours it will take to complete each part of the project.

This means that you can quickly bill customers for the tasks they you to work on, which is why many time tracking applications include a way to create accounts.

5. Reduce the Risk of Invoice Dispute

The time tracking software also provides you with a measure of protection against anyone who disputes the invoice that you have issued. If the client disputes what you have done, you have a way to show the exact time spent on their project.

Although this is not a magic shield, but in case of a dispute, it will cover your sit-upon.

6. Manage to Achieve More Goals

With the proper understanding of you performance rates and time frames necessary for managing particular tasks, it is easier to set goals and reach them.

What is more, performance tracking software will help you find out the peak time of your performance rate; thus, you can schedule the most important meetings and work on the most complex tasks during that time. Plan your day effectively!

7. Become Successful in All Spheres of Activity

Proper planning of your day and workload will free some time for both your personal and professional development. Thus, time that you have previously spent on working on regular tasks can be now used with the great benefit to you.

Performance tracking software will help you become successful in all the spheres of your activity. You may have been formerly busy and have no time for development and learning new things.

Performance tracking software will help you find a balance and achieve goals that were impossible to reach before.

8. Have More Time for Yourself

It is impossible to be efficient without a proper rest and switching your mind from the work to relax mode. Each person should have some time for self-improvement, recreation, hobbies, and staying with his beloved ones.

Unfortunately, for a modern man, it is today difficult to free up his tough schedule and find a window of time to dedicate it to recreation, hobbies, or staying for his close people.

This is where performance tracking software can help a lot. This digital instrument will assist you in elaborating the most effective and easy-to-manage schedule.

Perform tasks faster than those who do not know what time management is and do not use it. After a short period of using performance tracking software, you will be able to cope with many different things without feeling stressed and tired.

9. Forget about Constant Fatigue

You’ll become less prone to stress and will not experience emotional fatigue when you’ve planned for a working day.

Even if you had less tasks in your to-do list but spent half of the day on Facebook, you will feel tired in the evening.

It is way more efficient to plan your day based on results of your performance rates being tracked. Therefore, you will never overload yourself with tasks and will not spend hours in social networks.

Instead, you will know when it is necessary to take a break and how much time to dedicate to it so that you are not in delay.

10. Have a Clear Plan of Action

When using performance tracking software, you always know how to act when working on complex and challenging tasks. The idea is that you divide a big task into smaller sub-tasks and handle a complex assignment step-by-step. Thus, you always have a clear plan of action and follow it closely.

You know when to take a coffee break and when it is better to work efficiently without being disturbed and abstracting from the task. Performance tracking software will help you elaborate the most effective plan of action when dealing the most complicated tasks.

11. Control Your Life

Everyone of us would like to control our life and take the maximum out of it. Unfortunately, it is not always possible. We are all busy, and if not busy, we feel tired after a hard working day.

To avoid the feeling of being а fagged-out person and to free up your calendar, using a performance tracking and task planning software will be of great service to you.

Once you start tracking your time and paying close attention to your daily activities, you can control your life as you wish.

Forget about staying at work till late hours. Spend this time with your family or friends instead. It is not about doing your work worse or taking less tasks; it is more about increasing your performance and spending no time on useless and “for-fun” stuff.

Productivity Apps to Strat Tracking Your Performance

Do you have a plan for the day? And how many points from it do you usually perform? Do you manage to cope with all the tasks you set, eat, and rest normally? Do you have time for your family and friends?

For proper self-organization and high performance, it is not necessary to keep all thoughts and plans in your head or notebook. Instead, you can rely on applications aimed at tracking your performance and boosting it.

Finding a good task planner and performance tracker is perhaps the first thing a modern man needs to do when he buys a smartphone, pc, or tablet. And this is one of the most useful features of mobile devices, especially for those who are not used to planning their tasks and projects in a paper diary.

There are a lot of different task managers in the AppStore. Some of them are good, while others have poor functionality and cost a lot. That’s why we have decided to help you with the search and have picked five convenient planners that will help you set global goals, plan your life, and compile wish lists.

Toggl: Work Hours Time Tracker

Time management is the global problem of the 21st century: everyone talks about it, everyone wants to get it. However, very few people understand and effectively organize their working day.

Time tracker Toggl makes registration in client projects easier, so you can keep track of how much time was spent on client projects, and how many hours have been dedicated to coping with company projects.

SINCE 1975, when the first retail investment fund that aimed simply to mimic a stockmarket index was launched by Vanguard, such “passive” funds have squeezed margins and profits right across the asset-management industry. On August 1st that trend reached its logical endpoint with the launch of two zero-cost tracker funds by Fidelity, a Boston-based firm built on active investing that is the industry’s fourth-largest, with $ 2.5trn under management. With no minimum investment required and an expense ratio (that is, net cost to investors) of zero, it will further shake up an industry that was already undergoing a major structural shift.

Fidelity’s competitors immediately felt the heat. Shares in BlackRock, the world’s largest asset manager and largest provider of passive exchange-traded funds (ETFs), closed 4.7% down on the day, as shareholders digested the implications for its business model. Those in Invesco, the fourth-largest ETF provider, dropped by 4.2%, and those in State Street…

LynQ’s location tracker helps find your friends outdoors https://briefnews.eu/lynqs-location-tracker-helps-find-your-friends-outdoors/ https://briefnews.eu/lynqs-location-tracker-helps-find-your-friends-outdoors/#respond Tue, 15 May 2018 13:05:44 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/lynqs-location-tracker-helps-find-your-friends-outdoors/

If you’ve ever tried to find your friends at a music festival, you know how terrible cell phones can be at tracking them down. Even if you could hear what they’re saying over the noisy crowd, you’d still have a hell of a time trying to figure out just which tree they’re next to, or exactly what kind of red t-shirt they’re wearing. Apps like Find My Friends or Google Maps won’t do much good in this scenario either. Thankfully, there’s a solution. Enter LynQ, a handy little device that’ll not only help you locate your friends and family in the great outdoors, but it might even save lives. It’s already well-publicized at this point, but it hasn’t actually come to market yet. Until today. It’s available now on Indiegogo with an early-bird pricing of $ 154 for a 2-pack.

The idea is pretty simple. You give each person in your group a LynQ (you can have up to 12 in a group), pair them with each other, and you’ll now always be able to know how far each person is away from you, and in which direction. The pairing is done pretty easily too — just put them all next to each other, select a group size, and they’ll automatically create their own unique long range low power radio network. From there, the devices pull their location from GPS and send coordinates to each other utilizing a proprietary radio protocol. It’s, in effect, a private closed network just for you and your loved ones.

On the face of the device is an e-Ink screen, which consumes far less battery than a traditional LCD. It only has one button, with which you either quick or long press in order to navigate through the menu. LynQ says this is to keep the device simple, but it does mean it had to be creative when designing a way to enter in names without a traditional alphanumeric keyboard. To do so, you’d essentially rotate the device around, using the accelerometer to align the arrow with your chosen letter. Press the button to select, and repeat. Pretty clever.

When ready to go, it’ll show you your friend’s name, their distance in kilometers, miles or number of feet and then a darkened line that acts as the arrow. The arrow will move in the direction of your friend, and the closer you get to them, the wider that arrow will get. It has a range of up to three miles, a battery life of up to three days on a single charge and it’s military-certified to withstand the elements.

Co-founder Matthew Misbin ays that the idea with the LynQ is to wear it on the outside of your person, whether it’s on a belt loop or your backpack. “It allows you to quickly reference the device,” he said. “It gives you exactly the piece of information you want.”

In addition to letting you know where your friends are, you can also use the LynQ to send canned messages, like “Stay there” or “Come to me.” If you’re within a certain distance of someone, you can set it so that it sends a message like “Hey I’m near you” or “Hey I’m looking for you.”

But more than just finding your friends in a crowd, LynQ could also be used for keeping track of kids. You could, for example set up a custom safe zone, so that the LynQ will sound an alarm if your child wanders off beyond a certain distance. Drew Lauter, LynQ’s Chief Operations Officer, tells a story of a recent family trip to the beach, where he set up the safe zone right up to the water’s edge, and when his daughter went beyond that line, his LynQ started vibrating, beeping and blinking with tremendous urgency. Additionally, the LynQ’s screen will also immediately flip direction to that person, showing you the direction and the distance the person went. You can set a “homebase” to act as a gathering spot for everyone as well.

According to LynQ CEO Dave Shor, the device could also be used for taking care of grandparents with dementia, or with special needs kids. It could help caregivers keep track of children with autism, for example, who might get seriously injured if they wander off by themselves.

But one particular interesting use case is with search and rescue or disaster relief. The US Pacific Command used LynQ devices in a 2017 joint exercise with the Thai government to see if it would help them recover wounded soldiers. And according to tests, it reduced the time spent by 61 percent. Because of this, LynQ is in discussions to provide direct sales to emergency responders.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

“We never really thought it would be used this way,” said Shor. “But it makes sense. It’s ten times easier than a radio or a phone, and if you’re wounded or disabled, you couldn’t respond anyway.”

That said, the LynQ only really works if you’re outside. If you get lost in a shopping mall, for example, you’re out of luck. This is due to the limitations of GPS, but also LynQ’s desire to be off the grid. “Indoor locations typically rely on infrastructure and using WiFi,” said Lauter. Still, he didn’t rule out the possibility of LynQ adding that indoor tracking some day.

The other downside is that the LynQ isn’t cheap. Once the early-bird pricing is over, it’ll retail for $ 249 for a pack of two, and if you want more than that, the cost can add up. Sure, the lack of a subscription fee helps, and it does offer several perks over a regular cell phone, but that might not be enough to justify the cost.

If you want to give it a shot anyway, you can head on over to that Indiegogo page to get that aforementioned early-bird pricing. With any luck, LynQ will start shipping this fall, which should be just in time for the holidays.

Fortnite Stats Tracker: Epic Games provide news on when stats will be back on PS4 and Xbox https://briefnews.eu/fortnite-stats-tracker-epic-games-provide-news-on-when-stats-will-be-back-on-ps4-and-xbox/ https://briefnews.eu/fortnite-stats-tracker-epic-games-provide-news-on-when-stats-will-be-back-on-ps4-and-xbox/#respond Mon, 09 Apr 2018 04:43:27 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/fortnite-stats-tracker-epic-games-provide-news-on-when-stats-will-be-back-on-ps4-and-xbox/

Epic Games confirmed at the end of March that they had been forced to diable the Fortnite Stats Tracker  and Leaderboards features.

This was due to several concurrent issues affecting the back-end health of the game, which were affecting Fortnite core services.

These problems were fixed, although Epic Games were forced to keep the Stats Tracker and Leaderboard features offline.

And unfortunately for those players who are itching to see how they are doing, they have continued to be disabled in-game for the past week.

WHEN WILL FORTNITE STATS AND LEADERBOARD INFORMATION RETURN?

The good news is that Fortnite Stats are still being properly recorded, so players won’t see a scrub of their recent progress.

The Stats and Leaderboards from Fortnite have been temporarily hidden to reduce load until some of those additional improvements are made.

The official Epic Games sites says that there are not any workarounds to seeing your stats, so fans will have to continue being patient.

The Epic Games issue tracker suggests that a fix could be ready for one of the game’s next patches, although it’s unclear if we will see anything changes this week.

The “Stats not displayed in-game” ticket currently has a “Fixed In Future Release” label, so we might not be too far off their return.

However, while this all looks good it should also be noted that Epic Games do not have a release date confirmed for this new bug fix.

The site currently provides this information on the issue, stating: “We don’t currently have a time frame of when they will be displayed again, we’ll update you once we do.”

It should also be noted that Epic have labelled several other bugfixes as being ready for the next Fortnite patch, while the Stats Tracker issue is not.

Epic Games will likely announce the launch of a new patch on there social media feed, so it will be worth checking there for the latest news this week.

Fans can of course use other outside third-party websites to track their stats in the meantime, or those of their favourite players.

It follows the news that the development team may be about to change the Fortnite map in a big way.

Fortnite fans recently spotted a comet floating in the skies above Tilted Towers.

This has led to speculation that Epic Games is getting ready to level the region in a bid to balance the game.

One popular theory is that the comet will strike Tilted Towers at the end of season 3 on April 30.

This is based on a morse code message linked to newly discovered controller rumblings.

According to one Reddit user, the rumblings translate to “SOS D 5 418”, which supports the Tilted Towers theory.

Tilted Towers is located at D5 on the map, while 418 could be a reference to April 2018. The SOS, meanwhile, is pretty self-explanatory.

Fitbit just launched a new $ 100 fitness tracker with the goal of getting kids to be more active.

Called the Fitbit Ace, the new band is designed specifically for children. It comes in two colors — purple and blue — and costs $ 100.

Fitbit says it designed the band to help fight childhood obesity. It can automatically track kids’ activity, remind them to get up and move, and set activity goals for them to meet.

Fitbit Ace is available for presale starting March 13. Here’s how it works:

Fitbit Ace looks a lot like Fitbit’s Alta fitness tracking band, but smaller. It comes in two colors: Purple…

Fitbit Ace is intended for kids ages 8 and up. Fitbit says it created the band to help get kids to be more active, and to fight childhood obesity.

Junkyard Gem: 1995 Geo Tracker https://briefnews.eu/junkyard-gem-1995-geo-tracker/ https://briefnews.eu/junkyard-gem-1995-geo-tracker/#respond Mon, 05 Mar 2018 08:53:56 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/junkyard-gem-1995-geo-tracker/ The Geo brand was GM’s way of selling rebadged budget machinery produced via arrangements with Toyota, Suzuki, and Isuzu. There was the Prizm (Toyota Corolla), the Metro (Suzuki Cultus), the Spectrum (Isuzu I-Mark), the Storm (Isuzu Impulse), and the Tracker (Suzuki Sidekick). Here’s a rare example of the last type, in its final parking spot in a Denver self-serve yard.

This one has a 5-speed manual transmission and an 80-horsepower Suzuki 1.6 four-cylinder engine.

Trackers were sold as fun outdoorsy trucks, for camping or whatever, but mostly they ended up trudging back and forth to work on suburban commutes. This one just squeezed past the 200,000-mile mark during its 22-year lifetime.

It has a Budget rental-car sales sticker on it, but I am skeptical that Budget rented any vehicles with manual transmissions in the American market as late as 1995.

The interior is done up in that distinctive 1990s industro-cloth, with a Solo Jazz Cup-influenced pattern.

Air conditioning. Such luxury!

Apparently, Geo was a sponsor of the first season of The Real World. Here are Heather Gardner and Norman Korpi explaining why they like the Tracker (you can take the top off and pump your music, and it’s almost as cheap as a motorcycle).
