Plus, see if Binging with Babish can accurately recreate McDonald’s Szechuan sauce recently made popular again by Rick and Morty. And finally see how a meeting goes for members in a group called Human Centipede Anonymous.

First up, you may not know Phil Tippett by name, but you’ve undoubtedly seen his work in movies like Star Wars and Jurassic Park. Now a new documentary short from Vice called My Life in Monsters goes behind the scenes of some of his most iconic creations, making the transition from practical to digital effects, and more.

Next up, for everyone who didn’t get the Szechuan sauce from McDonald’s that they were hoping to get last weekend, maybe it’s time to catch up with a certain episode of the pop culture cooking show Binging with Babish from last month. After being sent some of the real Szechuan sauce from McDonald’s, he attempted to recreate it himself, in addition to making some homemade chicken nuggets.

Finally, comedians Jon Daly, Rob Huebel, James Urbaniak, and Steve Agee in this Funny or Die sketch featuring a support group for people who have been involved in Human Centipede tragedies. You never stop to think how difficult these people have it once they have a person’s ass removed from their face. It’s a rough life.

Dave Tippett stuck with the Arizona Coyotes through four seasons of playing without an owner, five years of losing since the franchise’s greatest success in the desert and the start of a rebuilding process.

The latest changes have the affable coach headed out after leading the franchise through eight up-and-down seasons.

Tippett and the Coyotes mutually agreed to part ways Thursday night, a move that comes as owner Andrew Barroway revamps the franchise.

“After some thoughtful discussions with Andy, we both agreed that it was best for me to move on,” Tippett in a statement. “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with the Coyotes and wish Andy and the entire organization all the best in the future.”

Tippett coached the Coyotes through four years of being run by the NHL after the team went into bankruptcy, making the best with a team hampered by financial limitations. The Coyotes hit a high by reaching the 2012 Western Conference Finals, but have fallen on hard times since, missing the playoffs five straight seasons.

Tippett was given a five-year contract extension and was named executive vice-president of hockey operations in 2015, but had philosophical differences with Barroway.

Barroway became the sole owner of the franchise when he bought out the minority owners earlier this month and has made big changes since taking over in an effort to rebuild the team.

Arizona traded away No. 1 goalie Mike Smith last weekend and bluntly told captain Shane Doan that he would not be offered a contract for next season after 21 years with the franchise.

“Tip is a man of high character and we are very grateful for his leadership during his tenure as our head coach,” Barroway said in a statement. “Ultimately, we have some philosophical differences on how to build our team. Therefore, we mutually agreed that it is in everyone’s best interest to have a coaching change in order to move our franchise forward.”

The 55-year-old Tippett went 282-257-83 in the desert and is 553-413-120 overall — with 28 ties — in a coaching career that started with six seasons with the Dallas Stars. The former North Dakota star played 11 seasons in the NHL with Hartford, Washington, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, and was a member of Canada’s 1984 Olympic team.

“Dave is an excellent head coach and a great person,” Coyotes GM John Chayka said. “I have the utmost respect for him and the job he did for the Coyotes. It was a privilege to work with him and I wish him the best in the future.”

QUEENSLAND Firebirds star Gretel Tippett has backed young centre Kristen Oxenford to handle the pressure of replacing Mahalia Cassidy in Saturday’s Suncorp Super Netball season opener against Sunshine Coast Lightning.

Cassidy has been ruled out of the Firebirds’ bid for a hat-trick of titles after rupturing knee ligaments last Friday.

Training partner Oxenford has been given first shot at filling Cassidy’s shoes by Firebirds coach Roselee Jencke.

It will be a big challenge for Oxenford, who plays for the second-tier Fusion side, but it is one Tippett says the young star will handle with ease.

The talented goal-attack has known Oxenford since the pair were children and is confident she has the maturity to deal with the elite level.

“She’s more than capable and more than ready,” Tippett said.

“She’s been training heavily with the side for the past three months. She’s held her own out there.

“Kristen’s come through the ranks so strongly. Even though she’s new to the team, she comes with that natural leadership that we need.

“The way we support each other out on court, it doesn’t matter if she’s nervous or has some doubts, we’ll be behind her 100 per cent.”

It will be a thrilling stage for Oxenford to debut on, with the rivalry between Firebirds and Lightning already building.

Tippett is predicting an “incredible battle” at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre, while star Lighting defender Geva Mentor is ready for whatever the Firebirds throw her team’s way.

Mentor said the Lightning would not let the absence of Cassidy affect their view of the Firebirds.

“The culture of the Firebirds has always been strong and obviously they know that winning formula,” she said.

“I’m expecting nothing less from them, no matter what their personnel is that they put out on court. They’re going to be really tough.”
