McGovern, 36, was interviewing former Labour MP for Birkenhead Frank Field, 76, over his exit from the Labour Party on BBC Breakfast. A Labour spokesperson had told the BBC show Jeremy Corbyn “thanked Mr Field for his service to the party”, which led Steph to ask: “You’ve been a Labour MP for over 40 years, why have you decided to leave?” Field explained there were two reasons: “Intolerance and bullying.” He added: “I thought that as politicians we ought to start listening rather than telling people they keep getting their perceptions wrong.” The pair then discussed Lord Sacks – Chief Rabbi of the United Hebrew Congregations of the Commonwealth from 1991 to 2013 – and his remark that Corbyn’s comments about British Zionists were “the most offensive statement made by a senior British politician” since Enoch Powell’s infamous ‘Rivers of Blood’ speech 50 years ago. Frank said Sacks had been “over the top”, adding: “But it was, for me, a wake up call in the sense that, we keep saying to the Jewish community in Britain, ‘Look you’ve got it wrong we’re not antisemites’. “And the group that feels like it’s being targeted keeps saying ‘but we think you are! We feel like we’re under attack from you.’” BBC Breakfast host McGovern said: “On that, the Labour Party have said this is a historical complaint which has been resolved after being fully investigated in line with party rules and procedures.” Frank jumped in and spoke over McGovern, demanding to comment on the statement. He said: “Can I just answer that? If they have investigated it and concluded it’s all fictitious, they have never told me. And I’ve been writing, and copying our Chief Whip in the commons, saying ‘this is still going on, this is new material for you’. “They’re just untrue, for the Labour Party’s unknown spokesman to say that.” McGovern tried to move the interview on, saying: “I know you’re meeting the Chief Whip later…” When Frank interrupted again adding: “I spoke to him yesterday.” BBC Breakfast’s McGovern steered the interview back to her question, saying: “Are you jumping before being made to resign?” Frank said: “No, I’ve been through all this before when I’ve been deselected and I’m still the Labour Party candidate. I wish to be the Labour Party candidate next time at the next election, if I’m not I shall stand as the Independent candidate.” He added: “I hope, I believe Jeremy will lead us into the next election. It’s not true what you say that I’m a constant critic of Jeremy, that isn’t true. “I believe he has a right to take us into the next election. It’s because of that fact, I think it’s more urgent that we appear as a party that is the great champion again against racism. And that we show that we in the Labour party do not tolerate bullying and thuggery. “If we can’t put our own house in order, that will show we can run the country. They are crucial issues, the party has to decide. “The idea this is part of a plot is simply crazy. I think he will lead us into the next election and I think these issues are urgent.” McGovern quizzed the former Whip, asking: “It’s not possible to resign from the Whip and remain a party member?” To which Frank replied: “I spoke to [the Chief Whip] yesterday and said I’ve been in the party 60 years and hope to continue as a party member, and I will sit as an independent Labour MP. “I would obviously when these issues are dealt with I would be able to seek the whip again. But his interpretation is different from others – we will see as time goes on who is correct.” BBC Breakfast airs weekdays from 6am on BBC. Fans of the JTU (JAG Television Universe) recently came closer than they know to having Harm and Mack back on their screens. The faithful should not, however, give up hope of seeing the JAG leads resurface on one of CBS’ NCIS series. NCIS of course was spun off of JAG, in a two-part “backdoor pilot” that introduced Gibbs, DiNozzo, Abby and Ducky (played by Mark Harmon, Michael Weatherly, Pauley Perrette and David McCallum). As recently as March, JAG vet John M. Jackson reprised his role as Rear Admiral “A.J.” Chegwidden on NCIS: Los Angeles (in what has turned out to be a bit of a recurring gig). Jackson also appeared in a 2013 episode of NCIS, while Patrick Labyorteaux has popped up on the mothership three times, as JAG‘s Captain Bud Roberts. But to date — across 28 total seasons of NCISes (NCISeese?) — neither Catherine Bell nor David James Elliott have slipped back into their uniforms. Yet. “Last year there was a point where Catherine and David were both available, and I was trying to make that work,” NCIS: Los Angeles showrunner R. Scott Gemmill tells TVLine. “I forget what episode it was, but I had a little opening, so I had casting check and she was available, and David was available….” Though that “reunion” (albeit on one of NCIS‘ own offshoots) did not come together, “That still is a goal of mine, to get as many of the original JAG players back in an episode,” Gemmill says. “I have such fun when John’s here, it’d be great to put them all together again. I think the fans would really dig that.” Bell herself very recently told TVLine that she is holding out hope for what we will call a cross-back-over, as Lieutenant Colonel Sarah MacKenzie, JAGC, USMC. “We’ve talked about it forever,” said the actress, who now headlines Hallmark’s Good Witch. “I would love to put on my old uniform and show up on NCIS. That would be really fun.” Echoing the aforementioned logistical/scheduling challenges — “It’s always been like, ‘Let’s do it…,’ ‘No, not now’” — Bell nonetheless has faith that the NCIS franchise that JAG (which ran for 10 seasons) begot will be around long enough to make it happen. “Maybe one of these days…,” she said. “They’re still going, aren’t they!” (With reporting by Vlada Gelman) Want scoop on any scripted summer or fall shows? X Factor runner-up Saara Aalto wowed audiences with her performance of Monster at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest. The talented singer, who finished second on the X Factor show back in 2016, sang on a spinning wheel before prancing around with her backing dancers in a pair of towering thigh-high boots. Her spectacular dance moves and incredible vocals earned her a place in the final show, marking four years since Finland made it to the last round of the competition. Praising the 31-year-old singer on Twitter, one fan wrote: “One of the best moments of the night. Well deserved!” Another added: “I screamed so loudly when it was announced that Finland had qualified for Saturday’s final. I thought @saaraaalto smashed it tonight and I can’t wait to see it all again on Saturday.” A third penned: “@saaraaalto just wanted to say a massive congratulations, your performance was amazing! I am so happy for you.” Someone else said: “What? Saara Aalto (Finland) from X Factor, Ryan O’Shaughnessy (Ireland) from Britain’s Got Talent singing in #Eurovision I didn’t expect that.” Meanwhile, a fifth user couldn’t believe both the Czech Republic and Finland had made it to the finals. They posted: “Czech Republic and Finland have finally broken a disastrous period of consistently failing between 2015-2017 and qualified this year.” Sara Aalto faces tough competition from Cesár Sampson (Austria), Elina Nechayeva (Estonia), Eleni Foureira (Cyprus), Leva Zasimauskaité (Lithuania), Netta Barzilai (Israel), Mikolas Josef (Czech Republic), EQUINOX (Bulgaria), Eugent Bushpepa (Albania) and Ryan (Ireland) in next week’s final. Last night’s instalment of Eurovision 2018 left some fans of the song contest raging after hearing “swearing” before the watershed on BBC FOUR. Those watching at home were convinced they heard Israel’s Netta sing the word “motherf**ker” several times throughout her performance at 8:30pm. One viewer complained: “Is it just me or did #isr say motherf**ker more than once? Before the watershed @BBCFOUR #Eurovision #Eurovision2018.” Another questioned: “#Eurovision did Israel just use the word ‘motherf**ker’ at least three times in their song? Before the watershed too!” A third raged: “I don’t think I have ever heard ‘motherf**king’ said on the BBC so many times before the watershed #Eurovision #ISR.” Meanwhile, another asked: “Did she just say motherf**king before watershed? #isr #Eurovision.” But a fifth pointed out that the lyrics said ‘motha-boka’, adding: “The lyric says ‘motha-boka’ but I think we all know #ISR just did a swear #Eurovision.” Eurovision released the actual lyrics to the song, while the BBC subtitles also revealed the word was not explicit. Eurovision continues this Saturday on BBC One at 8pm. Iain, 44, delivered today’s Entertainment report in place of Good Morning Britain regular, Richard Arnold. After unveiling Elton John’s new star-studded album, he moved on to discuss Dawn French’s dating advice. The Vicar of Dibley star, 60, has told fans they should ditch “underwear that’s going to impress” in favour of Bridget Jones style “big pants”. Iain seemed to agree with her, and unleashed another rant on the matter. He told Kate and co-host Charlotte Hawkins: “What is this fashion about bikinis where they go right up? “Hungry bums!” he laughed, as he discussed the thong-style of pant. Kate, 50, and Charlotte, 42, gasped at the hilarious quip and instantly started to giggle. Iain added: “I don’t know if we can say that on breakfast TV.” The latest comes after yesterday’s appearance on Good Morning Britain which left Susanna Reid stunned following a Jim Davidson snub. Iain paid tribute to the late Jim Bowen, who died earlier in the week aged 80. However, as he read out various tweets in honour of the Bullseye host, it seemed he didn’t want to read out one from Jim. Iain said: “Paddy McGuinness tweeted, and Jim Davidson tweeted – but I’m not interested in him.” Susanna asked: “Why not? He’s one of those comedy legends.” Iain retorted: “Let’s not. “Let’s have this debate elsewhere.” Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV from 6am. Oprah was joined by her A Wrinkle In Time co-stars Reese Witherspoon and Mindy Kaling to chat about the film directed by Ava DuVernay. The chat show host and actress opened up about her role in the fantasy film and shot down claims she would for run for presidency in 2020. Oprah opted for black suit and white shirt for her appearance on the BBC show, which began with her sipping on a margarita with Angelica, Matt and her co-stars. Her appearance on The One Show sparked a frenzy on social media, with many viewers questioning how the BBC had managed to organise an interview. Taking to express their shock that Oprah was on their TV screens, one fan wrote: “How the hell did they manage to get Oprah on The One Show??!! #TheOneShow.” Another added: “Oprah Winfrey on the #theoneshow ….what a treat!” “Oprah looking fantastic at 64. Let’s hear it for the mature woman #TheOneShow,” a third shared. While someone else continued: “Can you believe Oprah is 64? #TheOneShow.” A fifth noted: “Wow mega booking for the One Show sofa tonight! #Oprah #Reece #Mindy #TheOneShow plus loving @angellicabell the dress is fab @BBCTheOneShow.” During their chat on The One Show, the trio opened on their delight that Barbie dolls were created in the image of their characters. Oprah went on to confess it was a “big deal” for her as she didn’t have Barbie dolls as a young girl because she couldn’t afford it. Matt went on to ask if she had a favourite toy as a youngster: “Did you have a favourite toy? Maybe a teddy bear?” “Did I have a favourite toy?” the star repeated before divulging: “No, no, no, too poor for a teddy bear, come on.” Reese revealed she had a “dirty blanket” which she called “nighty night” and was furious when her mother washed it. Meanwhile, Mindy noted she would give one of her Barbie dolls to her baby daughter and keep one to decorate her home. The One Show airs weekdays on BBC One at 7pm. Sting’s visit to BBC Breakfast’s sofa this morning saw him promoting his Broadway musical, The Last Ship. With the show’s return to the UK, Sting appeared on the BBC’s show to discuss the stage show’s themes. Sting compared the difficulties that the characters go through in the show to the political disruption that is currently occurring in Britain. He explained: “For me, the basis of economic is community. “I think music and song have an important role to play in economic hard times and political dark times.” Host Charlie continued: “I can’t help but notice one of the stories we’re reporting on today is about car manufacturing in the UK and their worries.” However he quickly realised where the conversation could lead, diverting from the topic. “And, this is linked to Brexit – but we won’t get involved in that,” he said. “This is a major industry where a lot of people, potentially, their jobs are at risk.” Laughing, Sting nodded and proceeded to answer Charlie’s question. Sting has previously been voraciously outspoken with his views on Brexit, as he told the Irish Examiner that Brexit “annoys him greatly”. He said: ”I voted to remain. I feel that I’m a European. “I wish the referendum hadn’t happened, I think it was ill-advised. “It was really trying to shore up the lunatic elements of the Tory party. “I wish we could just reverse the whole process. I’ve yet to hear a coherent argument why it’s a good idea. “Nigel Farage saying ’let’s get our blue passports back’. Really? Is that it?” BBC Breakfast airs weekdays at 6am on BBC One. The royal butler is currently enduring a second stint on I’m A Celebrity where he has been spilling more secrets about his time with Princess Diana. However, Burrell was astounded when celebrity psychic John Edward dug up details about a collision involving Diana, Princess of Wales which took place before her fatal crash in 1997. “You had a friend who passed in a vehicle accident,” Edward said. “Were there two car accidents?” He went on: “I’m feeling like there were two car accidents – almost like one was foreshadowing and one was tragic.” Burrell was visibly confused until he remembered: “’Yes! You couldn’t possibly know that.” The medium continued: “I feel like you have been ostracised. I feel like you are the outcast, your need for validation from your friend’s family… [it’s] not coming. Like, not coming.” What’s more, Edward uncovered very precise details of Diana’s bedroom, bringing Burell to the brink of tears when he brought up a glass bird. “The glass bird is the (René) Lalique glass bird,” Burell gasped. “That’s what it is. It sat on a side table. He could not have known about a glass Lalique in the Princesses room… impossible.” Burrell then recalled a particular dress of Diana’s, which he revealed also appears in many of his dreams about the late mother-of-two. “I do have a dream of me sitting alone with the Princess crossed legged on the floor and she is wearing a blue dress,” he explained. “It’s the last dress I saw her in. I have never told anybody about that particular dream.” During his return to I’m A Celebrity for the Australian version of the popular ITV series, Burrell has made several bold claims abut the royals. Last week, Burrell claimed Prince Charles ditched Princess Diana after Prince Harry’s birth. Speaking in the I’m A Celebrity camp, he told campmate Kerry Armstrong: “She [Diana] told me on the night that Harry was born, Charles came to visit. “He wasn’t at the birth. Harry is lying in the cot, and he said, ‘Red hair, I suppose that’s a Spencer gene.’ “She said, ‘Are you pleased, Charles?’ And he said, ‘I’m delighted. I now have an heir and a spare.’ “She said, ‘Well, that’s an odd thing to say,’ before asking him, ‘Why are you dressed up in black tie?’” Burrell went on to add that Diana said: “He told her, ‘My work is done, isn’t it, now? I’m off to the theatre with Camilla.’ “She said, ‘On the night that Harry was born, I cried myself to sleep, knowing my marriage was over’.” Both Prince Harry and his older brother William were born at St Mary’s Hospital. Harry arrived at 4.20pm on 15 September 1984. Given the media interest that has always surrounded a royal birth, images captured the first time Prince Charles arrived at the hospital to visit his newborn son Harry. He was pictured wearing a navy suit with a pocket handkerchief. Diana’s former butler, Burrell’s version of her events is at odds with the photographs taken at the time. I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here airs on Channel 10. Fans of the ITV soap were shocked when the continuity announcer appeared to have left their microphone on as Emmerdale began. Viewers claimed they were able to hear rustling noises and talking in the background, with many insisting the voice belonged to the STV announcer. Many took to Twitter to comment on the noise issues and complain that the latest instalment had been ruined. “The announcer forgot to put his microphone off. So funny. #Emmerdale #STV,” one viewer tweeted. Another added: “The continuity announcer at @WeAreSTV has forgotten to put his microphone off and now we can hear him ruffling pieces of paper and mumbling to himself during @Emmerdale. #Emmerdale #STV.” A third continued: “Errr @wearestv someone has left their microphone on I can’t hear #emmerdale at all.” “WHO is the audio guy doing #emmerdale sacked. Why is the sound so bad? #emmerdale,” someone else wrote. A fifth shared: “Unreal amount of excitement when I realised the @WeAreSTV continuity announcer didn’t turn his mic off! Turned that volume right up to 35! #stv #emmerdale.” Last night’s episode of Emmerdale saw the village stunned when they found Ashley Thomas’ (John Middleton) memorial window had been smashed. New vicar Reece claimed that the window looked “garish” and suggested to the villagers that it should be removed. Shocked by his proposal, Ashley’s widow Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) and her friends confronted him and insisted it shouldn’t be removed. While the villagers were hopeful that newcomer Reece would change his mind, they were heartbroken to later find that the window had been destroyed. Laurel could be seen looking tearfully through the large hole the middle of the memorial as she tried to guess who would want to ruin it. Meanwhile, Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) and Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) came to blows over whether or not they should keep their unborn child. While the vet begged her to keep their baby, Chas insisted she would have an abortion as she didn’t want to raise another child. Emmerdale continues tonight on ITV at 7pm.

SYLVIA FOSTER/ARCHANT
Sylvia Foster, 60, and her husband Brian, 67, clocked up 32,428 miles on their epic 160-day voyage.
Mrs Foster said: “It was stressful at times but we had a lot of great fun.
“We saw lots of new places and met lots of lovely people.”
Mrs Foster, originally from Norfolk, and Brian, a retired pharmacist, spent two years building their very own aircraft before setting off on their incredible trip.
The Fosters took to the skies from their home in Port Alfred in South Africa’s Eastern Cape.
Their magical once-in-a-lifetime grand odyssey took them to the likes of Tanzania, Iceland, the United States, New Zealand and the Seychelles.
And they also stopped off in Sylvia’s home city of Norwich.
Mrs Foster said: “I cannot believe we did it really.
“We both wake up in the morning and say ‘we flew around the world?
“‘Did we really do that?’ It’s incredible.”
The high-flying team, who got married in 2015, started gearing up for their classic adventure in 2014.

The Fosters by their plane.
Grandmother Mrs Foster, who moved to South Africa in 2010, said: “It started off we were going to buy an aeroplane in America and fly it back to South Africa.
“Then we thought ‘if we are going to fly back to South Africa we might as well do a world trip’. It snowballed from there.
“We couldn’t find the plane we wanted so we ended up building one.”
The pair made their RV-10 plane – a four-seater, single engine aircraft – from a kit from American company Van’s Aircraft.
Mr Foster began to put it together in October 2014 as he worked virtually from dawn to dusk all week.

Brian flying the plane.
His wife said: “It was full-time work for Brian.
“He worked seven days a week from 8am until 6pm.
“I went in most days but not for as long.
“We finished the plane in October 2016 then it took a few months to get the paperwork done. We had lots of plans.
“There was plan A, B, C – depending on when the plane was finished because of the prevailing winds.”
They made their maiden flight on May 31 last year from Port Alfred to Pilanesberg in South Africa.
The trips that followed ranged from one of just 30 minutes from Kilimanjaro to Arusha, Tanzania, to a 14-hour marathon from Merced, California, to Honolulu, Hawaii.
Mrs Foster said: “We went to 23 countries and 43 airports and did 52 flights over 160 days.”
She fell in love with stunning Iceland and Greenland.
The couple landed in Mrs Foster’s native Norwich on July 2 for 10 days.
They had a fabulous time catching up with Sylvia’s sons George and Andrew Avery and grandchildren Oliver, Ruby and Joshua.
Mrs Foster said: “We flew into Norwich from the island of Elba.
“Then from Norwich we went to nearby Seething to do a service on the aeroplane.
“From Seething we went to Wick in the north of Scotland and waited for the weather to improve to go to the Icelandic capital Reykjavik.”
The couple’s globetrotting extravaganza didn’t go totally smoothly as they hit trouble deep in the Central Pacific.
“We got held up in Kiribati because we fell foul of bureaucracy,” said Mrs Foster.

Passport to freedom – their plane.
She said they got held up for six days and had to pay 10,000 Australian dollars.
Mrs Foster said: “Another time, we were in the Seychelles and almost home.
“We checked out of the hotel to fly to Mozambique – but got a message saying there’s no fuel there.
“The next day we had to go to Madagascar instead.”
They brought the curtain down on their journey for the ages on November 6 as they touched down at Port Alfred.
The 46-year-old former Doctor Who star appeared at a loss for what to say when the comedian quizzed him about his Time Lord successors on the festive special.
Playing a game of quick-fire questions with the actor, Miranda presented him with an impossible decision as she asked: “Snog, marry, kill: Matt Smith, Peter Capaldi, Jodie Whittaker?”
The studio audience let out an audible gasp as David’s face fell.
“Don’t do that to me, Miranda,” he begged quietly, before she replied: “I just have, David.”
“I would marry all three of them,” he said tactfully as the audience erupted into laughter.
Doctor Who fans went into meltdown earlier this week when the long-awaited Christmas special finally aired.
The tense instalment, Twice Upon A Time, saw Peter’s Doctor regenerate into the 13th Doctor (played by Jodie).
The first female Time Lord in the history of the popular BBC sci-fi series made a dramatic entrance following her predecessor’s emotional goodbye, with the TARDIS appearing to malfunction within seconds of her regeneration.
Whovians will have to wait until the beginning of the new series to find out how she manages to fix the disaster after she was seen tumbling out of the TARDIS door and free-falling through space at the end of the episode.
Doctor Who is expected to return to BBC One in 2018.
