PUBG Mobile Season 6 is expected to go live in the next 24 hours for all fans on Android and iOS.

As always, there will be some regions that will be lucky enough to get all the content before everyone else.

Tencent usually rolls out significant changes to PUBG Mobile in waves, and it seems the latest season will be no different.

Most players have now received the in-game PUBG update, meaning that Season 6 content will start dropping very soon.

In the UK, fans can expect PUBG Mobile Season 6 to start in the next 24-hours and at the latest before Friday.

This follows Tencent releasing the full patch notes to their in-game update, which provides important answers on the Royale Pass and other items.

Some players are already testing out the G36C rifle, which is available on the Vikendi map and fires 5.56mm rounds.

This can be equipped with stocks and replaces SCAR-L on the snow map, according to Tencent.

Then there is the new Sanhok-exclusive vehicle, the Tukshai three-wheeled bus, which replaces the Jeep, Dacia and Mini Bus.

The Royale Pass for Season 6 is also getting a cyberpunk upgrade, with players get a few new features too.

Players will notice that they can now view RP rankings of the entire region and friends directly from the Royale Pass page.

It has also been announced that Elite Pass Plus purchase includes additional rewards besides instantly gaining 25 ranks, while Weekly challenges now award more points.

Here’s more from Tencent, who confirmed their plans to start Season 6 with the new Anniversary event and a new game update:

“This update includes a range of enhancements to the game’s landscape, weaponry, and vehicles.

“Players can celebrate the one-year anniversary of PUBG MOBILE in the game by holding birthday parties with fireworks on Spawn Island. They can also find randomly-spawned cakes within a match for a special surprise.

“There are also enhancements to the Royale Pass, including the ability to view pass rankings of entire regions and friends, as well as receiving more points for weekly challenges with just a single tap. Subscription plans are also part of the update and will be available in early April.

“Plans include Prime and Prime Plus, which feature Royale Pass points, steep crate discounts, and more benefits. Additional items included in this version are the Vikendi-exclusive G36C rifle, which fires 5.56mm rounds and can be equipped with stocks.

“A new vehicle in this update is the Tukshai, a three-wheeled bus that’s exclusive for the Sanhok desert-theme map area.”

It’s unclear if Tencent plans to make a big announcement when the new Season 6 content is available to everyone worldwide, or if this will pop up as a notification in-game.

PUBG Mobile will make an announcement on their CLUB OPEN 2019 plans during an upcoming one-year anniversary event hosted by Powerbang Gaming.

Also, the 1st Anniversary celebrity Alan Walker will join the party to have his first show of new song On My Way and play PUBG MOBILE alongside gaming influencers Liza Peachy, Faze Adapt and Scotty Sire.

PUBG Mobile UPDATE: Server Status down as Tencent prepare new patch https://briefnews.eu/pubg-mobile-update-server-status-down-as-tencent-prepare-new-patch/ https://briefnews.eu/pubg-mobile-update-server-status-down-as-tencent-prepare-new-patch/#respond Mon, 18 Feb 2019 01:20:00 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/pubg-mobile-update-server-status-down-as-tencent-prepare-new-patch/

Tencent has started the process of updating PUBG Mobile on Android and iOS.

This will start with the PUBG servers going down, something that has already been confirmed as happening.

This new server maintenance will continue for much of the night and will be followed by another announcement from Tencent on their official update plans.

As usual, fans shouldn’t expect the new PUBG Mobile update to be waiting for them when servers go back online.

Fans may have to wait until later in the week before they can start playing the new content, which includes a Resident Evil 2 zombies mode.

From recent reports, the new PUBG Mobile update is expected to go live at some point on Tuesday, February 19.

However, this won’t be confirmed until Tencent themselves announce the news on one of their social media feeds.

For now, we know that PUBG Mobile servers will be down until 8am in the UK.

This was confirmed in a recent message from the Tencent support team, which reads: “PUBG MOBILE will be taken offline for maintenance from 12AM to 8AM (UTC) on February 18th. Service may resume sooner or later. Stay tuned!”

As noted in the message, server maintenance may finish early, meaning PUBG Mobile going back online sooner.

When it comes to the big changes with PUBG Mobile update 0.11.0, we already have a good idea of what will be included.

As mentioned above, the most recent PUBG Mobile build has been in beta testing for some time.

And the patch notes give a clear outline on what is being worked on for release later this week.

“In this version, we are going to test out new Resident Evil 2 collaboration and special game mode! The mode will be on in about 1h from now,” a message from Tencent support team reads.

“We also enabled rapid experience gain in daily mission in order to test out everything smoothly.”

The biggest piece of new content will be the Resident Evil 2 zombies mode, which changes the Battle Royale experience significantly.

Players will have to fight to survive as usual on Erangel, with the added threat of Zombies and Bosses from Resident Evil 2 spawning on the map.

The good news is that by eliminating these threats, you can unlock new weapons and rewards

There will also be new changes made to the PC emulator version of PUBG Mobile, and Sanhok is also getting Quick Match support in Arcade.

It’s expected that some changes will have been made from the beta but you can find the full patch notes shared at the time, below:

  • Added RE2: Sunset, a new time-limited event mode. Fight to survive as usual on Erangel, but Zombies and Bosses from Resident Evil 2 will also spawn on the map! Kill them to get resources and items.
  • Added Resident Evil 2 main menu theme and music.
  • Added weather: Moonlight to Vikendi.
  • Added Personal Spaces, where player information and Connections are displayed. Select a friend with Synergy 400 or above as Partner to stand by your side in your Space!
  • Added push-to-talk chat in matches.
  • Sanhok is now available in Arcade – Quick Match.
  • Added a PC feature: damage stacking outside of safe zone. The further away players are from the safe zone, the more damage they take.
  • Added feature form our PC counterpart: Air raid adjustment. In Sanhok and Vinkendi, the size of the air raid area is reduced as the safe zone reduces in size.

PUBG Mobile Vikendi UPDATE: Latest news and reveals of new Tencent map https://briefnews.eu/pubg-mobile-vikendi-update-latest-news-and-reveals-of-new-tencent-map/ https://briefnews.eu/pubg-mobile-vikendi-update-latest-news-and-reveals-of-new-tencent-map/#respond Mon, 10 Dec 2018 01:31:24 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/pubg-mobile-vikendi-update-latest-news-and-reveals-of-new-tencent-map/

PUBG Mobile continues to prove popular with fans following its launch on Android and iOS earlier this year.

This has been helped along by a dedicated core group of players who can enjoy the game on both mobile devices and PC emulator.

Plenty of new content has been launched in 2018, including two new maps, special events and additional vehicles, modes and weapons.

But while there is plenty to do right now in PUBG Mobile, fans are looking out for the next big update.

It’s unclear when it will drop, but players are hopeful that the new PUBG Vikendi map will be released in the near future.

The good news is that it is reportedly being beta tested in China right now, which means it is on its way.

Pictures of some of the new content have started to pop up on Reddit, offering fans a first glimpse at what is coming next.

The bad news is that it could mean it won’t reach the rest of the world for weeks, as there is usually a delay between PUBG Mobile content being released in China and the rest of the world.

However, a recent online report runs against this logic and suggests that PUBG Mobile 0.10.0 could arrive much sooner.

XDA Developers claim that they have leaked patch notes from the newest build of the game, which includes the Vikendi map.

It lists the new level as a 6km x 6km snow map which will be available to download on December 20.

Other notable changes include snowball fights on the Vikendi’s Spawn Island, as well as additional weather effects and a Snowmobile vehicle.

As always, all leaks should be taken with a pinch of salt until the news is confirmed by the development team.

It should be noted that a new beta version of PUBG Mobile is available to playtest but does not contain the new snow map.

So it’s unclear if these patch notes are connected to the next worldwide release, or come from a different version of the game.

If a new update is to be released later this month, you can expect some kind of update from Tencent in the coming weeks.

It was recently revealed that PUBG Mobile surpassed 100 million downloads within 4 months of release, excluding China, Japan and Korea.

That’s not to mention the over 20 million concurrent users the game now boasts on all platforms.

The game has also been rewarded in other ways, winning awards at the Golden Joystick Awards for Best Mobile Game of the Year.

“The team is honoured and thrilled that PUBG MOBILE has been recognised by 2018 Golden Joystick Awards,” said Vincent Wang, general manager, PUBG MOBILE global publishing team.

“The response to the game from fans has energised everyone at the team as we are heads down working on new, exciting updates and contents for PUBG MOBILE.”

PUBG Mobile update time: Servers DOWN as Tencent reveal 0.9 release news, download plans https://briefnews.eu/pubg-mobile-update-time-servers-down-as-tencent-reveal-0-9-release-news-download-plans/ https://briefnews.eu/pubg-mobile-update-time-servers-down-as-tencent-reveal-0-9-release-news-download-plans/#respond Wed, 24 Oct 2018 01:10:00 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/pubg-mobile-update-time-servers-down-as-tencent-reveal-0-9-release-news-download-plans/

PUBG Mobile update 0.9 arrives this week

PUBG Mobile servers are going offline for an extended period, to make way for a new patch.

The latest news shared by the Tencent team suggests this new scheduled maintenance will last for several hours.

An in-game warning states that PUBG Mobile servers will be down for around eight hours, making way for a new update.

However, a new Twitter post from the PUBG Mobile support team claims that the maintenance will only last three hours.

“PUBG MOBILE will be taken offline for maintenance from 01:00 – 04:00 (UTC) on Oct 24th,” the Tencent social post reads.

“The Server may be back online sooner or later depending on maintenance progress. Thank you for your patience.”

So at the moment, it’s hard to measure just how long the servers will be down for maintenance.

If the in-game message is correct, PUBG Mobile will be down until around 9am in the UK.

If the post from Twitter is proven right, the game will only be offline until around 5am, BST.

However, there’s also the chance that engineers will require less time for maintenance, meaning PUBG Mobile might be back online sooner.

New patch notes have been released by Tencent

The other things to take notice of is this might be one of the biggest updates ever released by Tencent for PUBG Mobile.

And while that will be exciting news for some, it also means it could be a massive download for phones.

The beta is known to be over 3GB to download, although hopefully that size has been compressed somewhat for the final 0.9 release.

The good news is that after the servers go back online, the official PUBG Mobile update 0.9 will be launched, although not straight away.

Fans will have to wait for around 24hrs before the new update has arrived on Android and iOS.

During this time, there may come a point when some players have access to the update and others don’t.

This might lead to friends not being able to play with friends until they have received the latest patch.

However, by the end of October 25, the new PUBG Mobile 0.9 update should be available to everyone.

So to make it clear, today’s scheduled downtime will not be directly followed by a new update going live.

Tencent has also released a lot of details about their next update, rather than sharing patch notes afterwards.

After downloading the next patch, fans should notice new weather effects, Map improvements and something else a little different.

Festival Effects are being added to the game, which should make things ready for Halloween.

“In all maps, the Spawn Island has gone through a festival makeover, Interact with other players on Spawn Island by picking up pumpkins and candies,” a message from Tencent reads.

“Enemies killed by Hellfire, AKM will become scarecrows, a spooky face appears when a grenade explodes.”

“During the Halloween event period, players have a 50% chance to activate Night Mode.”

There is a lot of information on what is included in this week’s update in the patch notes, which can be found below:

  • Reduced memory usage in the lobby.
  • Resolved blurry screen issues on some mobile phones.
  • Improved game update mechanism and resolve issues that may cause the update to fail.

When it comes to the exact time that the new PUBG Mobile update will arrive on October 25, Tencent hasn’t provided that information yet.

Downtime is expected to last hours and will then be followed by a waiting time for the patch to hit App Stores.

And if we look to how past updates have worked, the game will likely be patched slowly, region by region, possibly starting on October 24.

China’s game approval freeze forces Tencent to restructure https://briefnews.eu/chinas-game-approval-freeze-forces-tencent-to-restructure/ https://briefnews.eu/chinas-game-approval-freeze-forces-tencent-to-restructure/#respond Tue, 02 Oct 2018 07:35:15 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/chinas-game-approval-freeze-forces-tencent-to-restructure/

Tencent hasn’t been having a great time ever since China established a new regulator that brought game approvals to a standstill. Back in August, it had to pull Monster Hunter: World from the Chinese market after regulators cancelled its license. Now, the internet giant has announced that it’s restructuring the company for the first time in six years due to challenges caused by tighter government regulations. In addition to bringing MH:World to China, Tencent owns the companies behind League of Legends and Clash of Clans, which are immensely popular mobile games in Asia. It also owns the social media and chat platform WeChat.

According to Reuters, the company’s market value has plummeted in the past months, as investors worry about the regulatory roadblocks it’s facing and its lack of clear overseas strategy. Back in August, Bloomberg reported that it lost over $ 160 billion in value since January this year, and considering its shares fell further just last week, that number most likely grew over the past couple of months.

Going forward, Tencent will implement changes focusing on its corporate offerings. It will consolidate three business groups into a single unit and will create a new one for the cloud and smart industries in order to improve its cloud-based services for corporate clients. It will also “further explore the integration of social, content and technology that is more suitable for future trends, and promote the upgrade from consumer internet to industrial internet.” In addition, it’s investing more money into research and development to make sure the company survives this ordeal.

PUBG Mobile update: Servers DOWN as Tencent begin Sanhok 8.0 release https://briefnews.eu/pubg-mobile-update-servers-down-as-tencent-begin-sanhok-8-0-release/ https://briefnews.eu/pubg-mobile-update-servers-down-as-tencent-begin-sanhok-8-0-release/#respond Tue, 11 Sep 2018 02:22:24 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/pubg-mobile-update-servers-down-as-tencent-begin-sanhok-8-0-release/

Tonight will see PUBG Mobile servers go offline for an extended period of time.

According to the latest news shared by the Tencent team, this new scheduled maintenance will last around eight hours.

However, there’s also the chance that this downtime will take less time, meaning PUBG Mobile might be back online sooner.

It’s currently estimated that PUBG Mobile will be down until around 9am in the UK.

The good news is that soon after this, the official PUBG Mobile update 8.0 will be launched, although not straight away.

It will probably be around 24hrs (September 12th) after the downtime when the new patch will drop, including some exciting new content for the game.

Here’s the latest from Tencent, who confirm: “PUBG MOBILE will be taken offline for maintenance from 00:00 – 08:00 (UTC) on Sep 11th.

“Server may be back online sooner or later depending on maintenance progress. As expected, the new version with Sanhok map will be released starting Sep 12th.”

So to make it clear, today’s scheduled downtime will not be directly followed by a new update going live.

Instead, fans will have to wait a short period of time before the new Sanhok map is released.

From what has been shared on the official PUBG Mobile Reddit page, fans can expect the Sanhok map to go live, along with the content that goes with it.

There will be a new flare gun to use, as well as the QBZ Rifle and a new Pick-Up Truck that can be customised.

An improved cheating plug-in has also been promised, as well as more accessibility to the report player page.

Here’s a rundown of everything that’s been shared about PUBG Mobile update 8.0:

PUBG MOBILE PATCH

  • Sanhok
  • Flare gun (call in airdrops if used within the playzone).
  • QBZ: an automatic rifle.
  • Muscle car: 4 seater that has both convertible and hardtop.
  • Bulletproof UAZ wit 4 seats.

New customisable Pick-Up

  • Quantities can now be specified in settings.

Anti-Cheating Measures

  • Improved cheating plug-in recognition
  • Added report buttons to more pages.

More news will likely be shared about the upcoming update following its release later this week.

And users are pretty excited about the new content, even though they know it won’t go live until Wednesday, September 12.

“Was everyone kicked out of the game? Maybe just me but normally I finish the game I am in before I am kicked. Kicked in the middle of a match just now.” One user wrote.

“Ended the last game with a chicken dinner. So satisfying knowing every kill kicks them out of the server lol,” another posted.

Last month, nearly 400,000 attendees arrived in Cologne, Germany for Gamescom 2018, the world’s second-largest gaming convention of the year.

As part of Gamesom, the PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Mobile (PUBG MOBILE) team collaborated with Honor, the innovative smartphone e-brand, to create an interactive booth experience for PUBG MOBILE.

Fans who stopped by the booth had the opportunity to play PUBG MOBILE on Honor’s all-new gaming smartphone, the Honor Play.

PUBG Mobile also hosted an exclusive “Creator Showdown” competition for booth visitors to spectate and participate.

Content creators including StoneMountain64 and MasterSnakou joined in to fight for the coveted Winner Winner Chicken Dinner. And after multiple rounds of battle royale action, StoneMountain64 and his squad achieved victory.

PUBG Mobile update 0.7.0: War Mode and new Tencent features revealed in patch notes https://briefnews.eu/pubg-mobile-update-0-7-0-war-mode-and-new-tencent-features-revealed-in-patch-notes/ https://briefnews.eu/pubg-mobile-update-0-7-0-war-mode-and-new-tencent-features-revealed-in-patch-notes/#respond Wed, 25 Jul 2018 09:02:53 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/pubg-mobile-update-0-7-0-war-mode-and-new-tencent-features-revealed-in-patch-notes/

Having had to wait following the initial server maintenance, fans can now play the new PUBG Mobile update 0.7 content.

Tencent also opted to launch their new patch regionally, meaning that some players got the new download earlier than others.

The big news is that update 0.7.0 introduces the new action-packed War Mode, as well as an additional clan system for fans to use.

War Mode changes the PUBG formula radically, allowing for respawns, as well as a more traditional fps gameplay.

Players drop onto the smaller map in teams and can score points in varying ways, with the game ending when one side reaches 100 points.

Some fans have reported issues connecting to War Mode, although this might be due to scheduling on Tencent’s part.

“Following June’s introduction of First Person Perspective Mode, PUBG MOBILE’s latest content drop amplifies the action from the rugged terrain of the Miramar and Erangel realms,” a message from Tencent reads.

“Players on iOS and Android can skydive into the new epic battle of War Mode where teams duke it out on a small patch of the battlefield.

“Teamwork and grit are continuously tested, as players respawn repeatedly until one team reaches 100 points.

“Players earn three points for killing an opponent, one point for killing a downed opponent and one point for saving a teammate.

“In addition to War Mode, PUBG MOBILE’s July update delivers an all-new way for players to team up and dominate with the introduction of the clan system.

“Players can create and customise unique clan icons and work to earn exclusive rewards by climbing in ranks and completing challenges.”

Other game-related updates for PUBG MOBILE include:

New Region Categorization – Nationality, clan, and friend information are now viewable on title screens, and players can enlist in War Zones that are categorised by geographical region.

New Achievement System – Players can participate in fun challenges to unlock achievements and earn in-game items;

Exclusive Skins – More skins are available for customisation, including player armour, weapons, planes, and even vehicle finishes;

SLR Sniper Rifle – The deadly SLR rifle from PUBG on PC arrives in PUBG MOBILE for additional carnage, along with new grip and scope accessories.

It should also be noted that First Person Perspective is now supported in custom rooms, while Tencent is also running 75% off the Pan item from July 31 – August 9.

There are also a lot of other little changes made by the development team that probably hasn’t been included in the official patch notes.

UI tweaks have been made on specific screens, while other bugfixes have not been confirmed.

The new PUBG Mobile updates weighs in at around 2GB on Android and iOS and should be available for everyone to download.

PUBG Mobile servers DOWN: New Tencent update news for iOS and Android https://briefnews.eu/pubg-mobile-servers-down-new-tencent-update-news-for-ios-and-android-2/ https://briefnews.eu/pubg-mobile-servers-down-new-tencent-update-news-for-ios-and-android-2/#respond Mon, 23 Jul 2018 01:54:11 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/pubg-mobile-servers-down-new-tencent-update-news-for-ios-and-android-2/

Tencent has confirmed that new downtime has been scheduled for tonight and is now ongoing.

This will be to make way for PUBG update 0.7.0. which has been in the beta testing phase for some time.

PUBG Mobile servers are down for an extended length of maintenance, meaning that some players may even miss logging into the game tonight.

The new PUBG update will be going live after the server downtime, although the exact timing is not known.

Tencent has left a 24hr period in the past to launch their patches, so update 0.7.0 might not go live until July 24.

The development team behind the hit Battle Royale mobile port are expected to offer more news following the lengthy downtime.

It has been confirmed that PUBG Mobile servers will be down for around eight hours, to make way for the new changes.

This is new information being shared via a maintenance notice, which states that PUBG server downtime will begin at 00:00 UTC, on July 23.

British Summer Time (BST) is usually 1 hour ahead of Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), however, there’s a chance that things could kick off earlier.

The full message from Tencent reads: “PUBG Mobile will be taken offline for maintenance from 00:00 to 08:00 (UTC) on July 23.

“Service may resume sooner or later depending on maintenance progress.”

If scheduled maintenance does stick to the timeline provided by the support team, PUBG Mobile servers should be back up around 9am, BST.

The last line is very important as maintenance with the PUBG Mobile has been known to differ greatly from what has been initially shared.

NEW PUBG MOBILE UPDATE

As mentioned above, a new beta of the game has been available to download from the Google Play Store this past month and provides a short list of things being changed.

A new mode, weapon and UI mechanic are listed, with more likely included before the official launch.

Players have been able to test a new mode called War, which is described as a fast version of the existing Arcade Mode.

War Mode also looks set to be only accessible during certain times of the day, although it’s unclear if this is something just being tested during the beta.

There will also be a new SLR Sniper Rifle added, and a new portable Closet, which could work well with the Royale Pass.

This new feature will allow players to change how they look during an active game, which isn’t something that’s currently available in PUBG Mobile.

The official PUBG beta patch notes can be found below:

  • Arcade Mode – War – A new, faster-paced variation of Arcade mode.
  • New Weapon – Added the SLR Sniper Rifle.
  • Portable Closet – Players can now put outfits in their Portable Closets and instantly change clothes during combat.

The new update is expected to go live on both Android and iOS platforms at around the same time.

Past patches have seen delays between platforms, leaving players unable to crossplay during that time.

However, that isn’t expected to happen anymore; however, it will be worth it for fans to keep an eye on the game’s official social media channels for more information.

PUBG Mobile servers DOWN: New Tencent update news for iOS and Android https://briefnews.eu/pubg-mobile-servers-down-new-tencent-update-news-for-ios-and-android/ https://briefnews.eu/pubg-mobile-servers-down-new-tencent-update-news-for-ios-and-android/#respond Mon, 18 Jun 2018 01:59:52 +0000 http://briefnews.eu/pubg-mobile-servers-down-new-tencent-update-news-for-ios-and-android/

Fans have confirmed that Tencent have brought the PUBG Mobile servers down tonight so that they can perform scheduled maintenance.

A notice can now be found for gamers who try to log in tonight, confirming that downtime will be ongoing for sometime.

Maintenance has now started and it appears that it will last another six hours before servers go back online.

“Players, there will be 6 hour maintenance period on our live servers starting now. Standby for more information,” a message from the PUBG Mobile support team reads.

For players in the UK, that means that the game will be down until 8am, BST.

In the United States, this latest server downtime could keep players off PUBG Mobile until 2am, PST.

From what has been shared on the official maintenance board, the new PUBG Mobile update will be available to download after servers are back online.

It appears a new “Mini-Zone” will be added to the game through this new patch, as well as a new first-person perspective and the Royale Pass Season 1.

Weapons will also be available to view in the Armoury following today’s PUBG Mobile update.

Tencent are also changing how guns can be equipped, meaning sub-weapons should be available in loadouts in the near future.

From what we have seen in the past, today’s server downtime could be extended if Tencent believe they need the extra time to complete everything.

The development team may also change some of the things included in this update if they deem it necessary to avoid last-minute bugs.

Like most updates, this latest patch for PUBG Mobile will also contain a list of bug fixes, which haven’t been officially shared.

From what we have seen from the recent beta test, players should see cars no longer do damage to teammates.

This was an annoying glitch that has been targeted by the development team, and is expected to be part of today’s update.

When it comes to the major changes being made by Tencent, the new Royale Pass might prove the most exciting.

While not much is known about it, the pass is rumoured to allow players to complete missions for loot, much like in Fortnite.

However, until it’s officially rolled out, fans will have to wait and see what it will actually contain.

It follows news of the new emulator released by Tencent, that lets users play PUBG Mobile with a mouse and keyboard.

“Tencent’s best-ever emulator for PUBG Mobile,” reads the official description. “Flexible and precise control with a mouse and keyboard combo.”

However, the PUBG Mobile PC emulator is limited in terms of matchmaking, but is ideal for players who don’t enjoy the touch controls.
