You know that. And yet, good tires are astonishingly expensive, and the screaming deals offered by no-name brands and tire discounters can be tempting. Do you really get what you pay for? Well, all-round tire fanatic Jonathan Benson from UK-based Tyre Reviews tackled the question. (You know Jonathan from his video series, including one we highlighted back in June that had some interesting insights about wheel sizes and tire sidewall height.)

This time around, he’s testing costly name-brand tires against budget tires, comparing a set of Continental Sport Contact 6s against what he calls a “good for the budget” set called a Rotalla RU01 S-Pace. (Rotalla also markets a tire called the Unicorn. We assume it is not imbued with magical powers.)

Benson finds drifting to be much tougher with the budget tires — easier to break loose, much harder to control. “They’re not as fun, they’re not as fast, they’re not as consistent,” and he mentions the small matter of feeling like he’s “on the edge of questionable death.”

Then there’s the braking comparison. We won’t all go drifting, but at some time or another we will all need every blessed inch of braking distance we can get. The test results have to be seen. But that poor foam dude never had a chance.

There’s also a comparison of dry handling, where Benson finds some kind things to say about the Rotallas, though a lack of controllability yields slightly slower lap times.

He does conclude that, objectively, the two sets of tires are less different than he would have thought, with test data showing a performance gap of perhaps 5 percent. But he rates the subjective gap in handling predictability at 50 percent.

The price difference between these tires? About 250 pounds, or $ 325. That’s real money — but the stakes are really high.

Christopher Nolan is no stranger to dialogue-heavy movies, mostly because his films like Inception and Interstellar require plenty of exposition in order for the audience to fully understand the complex sci-fi concepts at work. But when it comes to his World War II drama Dunkirk, the filmmaker relied on significantly less dialogue, instead letting tension and suspense fill the screen as the action sequences unfolded. In fact, Nolan once considered shooting the movie without a script at all.

Funnily enough, in the published version of the Dunkirk script that you can buy to read yourself, there’s an interview with Christopher Nolan conducted by his brother Jonathan Nolan (who wrote The Prestige, The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises and Interstellar). During their discussion, Christopher Nolan revealed that he had engrossed himself so deeply in the events of Dunkirk and how to portray him that he felt a script may not be necessary.

The Hollywood Reporter recounts Nolan’s explanation from the book:

“I got to a point where I understood the scope and movement and the history of what I wanted the film to address, because it’s very simple geography.”

The geography of the story may be simple, but the three different timelines that unfold over a week, a day and an hour make the each story a little confusing at times. Even so, it’s at least a more interesting, engaging way to tell the story, even if it’s a little disorienting. But for Nolan, the way the story unfolds was clear, and it made him think he didn’t need a script. He was so confident that he even went to his producing partner and wife Emma Thomas, as well as the film’s production designer Nathan Crowley, with the proposal of not having a script:

“I said, ‘I don’t want a script. Because I just want to show it,’ it’s almost like I want to just stage it. And film it. Emma looked at me like I was a bit crazy and was like, okay, that’s not really gonna work.”

While Nolan may have understood how the film was going to play out, and surely every member of the crew trusted his vision, the lack of a script could make production somewhat difficult. A script helps the various departments know what they need to pull off each day, and without that script, shooting the film could have been a mess, even with a filmmaker like Christopher Nolan in control.

As it stands, even with Nolan writing a script, it’s not as if the dialogue was plentiful. Most of the movie is propelled by the action and suspense from the Dunkirk evacuation operation unfolding and all the intensity that comes with it. Nolan acknowledged that’s intentional, and he went so far to say, “I felt like I’d kind of mastered that form,” when speaking about dialogue used to drive the emotional core of a movie. But don’t worry, because Nolan also said, “I will be coming back to dialogue.”

Since we don’t know what Nolan’s next project will be at this point, we’ll have to take his word for it.

users across the world are being urged not to click on a new spam message which teases an option to customise the app.

The message, which was first spotted by reddit user yuexist, states that, “Now you can change your WhatsApp and leave it with your favourite colour.”

As soon as the message is received on a phone, fans of the popular app are then asked to share the message with 12 friends to activate and verify the new custom colour feature.

Once users have ‘verified’ themselves, they are then told that WhatsApp’s colors can only be used via a desktop and, to make the new feature work, they are asked to install an extension called BlackWhats from the Chrome Web Store.

However, the message and extension actually appear to be fake and could end up with users installing nasty adware along with infecting 12 of their friends at the same time.

This isn’t the first time WhatsApp users have been victims of scam messages.

Earlier this year a message was sent millions of times stating that, from today, “.”

It then went on to warn users that the only way to stop the daily fee is to forward the message to “at least 10 contacts.”

With WhatsApp revealing it will always remain free this message was clearly a hoax and users were warned not to forward it on to their friends.

Having given advice on how to avoid such hoaxes, WhatsApp suggests users don’t interact with messages that instruct you to forward the message on, those which promise rewards or any which claim to be from WhatsApp itself.

“We always advise you to block the sender, disregard the message and delete it,” the company said.

Although this latest colour changing feature might be fake there is a new WhatsApp extension that is 100 per cent real.

The which now includes Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp and Telegram icons within the browser.

This allows users to access these apps with one simple click.

After you log in to the social sites, there are two ways of using this feature: you can open it in overlay or pin it side-by-side with your current tab. Pinning a communicator allows you to combine online chatting with a full browsing experience.

You can also decide which of the messengers to enable in your sidebar by selecting them under ‘Customise start page.’
